  1. Decent bottle of wine every night will take care of it !🍾🍷
  2. That is what I am seeing in the UK as well. In all honesty, I can't see the point about worrying about some diabetes inducing desserts and a couple of hours of exercise. As long as I get my $15 drinks I will be fine.
  3. City Centre PI is certainly a bit nearer, than West Quay. I think only you can decide what your priorities are - personally I would go for West Quay. Its probably only 20minutes extra walk. Perhaps John Bull could give his opinion ?
  4. We use the City Centre Premier Inn, as it has it's own car park. But, assuming that you will not have a car, the West Quay PI is more convenient for shops, eateries etc.
  5. In my experience, those seats marked with an X are already booked. The ones marked with a 'head' are currently available to book.
  6. Exactly - Princess can track any individual if they so wish, but why would they want to do so ?
  7. And Princess. P&O seem to be winning the race to the bottom !
  8. Agreed - a linen change every three days or so is not unreasonable.
  9. Out of interest, why won't he use it ? It is so much more convenient than the cruise card, especially when opening your cabin door.
  10. That was what I had to do as well. There was no option to add on the cruise cover, or the age cover on line. And payment was made over the phone as well.
  11. You have to call the insurance department, to add on the extra age supplement, and declare your health issues. Took me about 10 minutes in total.
  12. The only time we have spent more than £10k on a holiday was a 5 week tour of Australia ! I know you cannot take it with you, but I do start to get a little twitchy when the cost of a holiday starts to exceed £6k for us as a couple
  13. Agreed - it all basically depends on drink consumption, be that coffee, soft drinks or alcohol. For us the Plus package is a no brainer.
  14. Two other reasons why Brits like the Plus Package. Many Brits will previously have cruised with P&O (UK) and drinks are roughly twice as expensive on Princess as P&O, and, of course, P&O long ago did away with autogratuitues.
  15. Nationwide cover for cancellation is £5k per person. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever book that expensive a holiday !
  16. That's the difference ! My wife and I will probably drink 6 or 7 alcoholic drinks each, every night. And the wine pours on Princess are very mean !
  17. You need to take the fx rate into account for us Brits. A single glass of wine on Princess, even at the old prices, is the equivalent of £12, when you take the 18% service charge into account. Princess Plus costs £50 pppd, so once you have factored in the gratuities, "break even" is only around three glasses of wine a day. I would drink that number at lunch time ! Plus of course, soft drinks, coffee etc. And the wifi is to all intents and purposes free.
  18. Actually, I think the reverse is the case. Certainly on European cruises the majority of Brits buy the package because it is such good value.
  19. No difference with Nationwide.
  20. We took out a Flex Plus account, just for the insurance, but did not change our bank account. We have three cruises booked this year, so decided to go for the cruise cover.
  21. Didn't notice any significant changes, but it seems to load up and generally operate far quicker than before.
  22. I agree, but financially, from a Princess perspective, it would be better if obc could not be used.
