No problem. I just think it is a shame to travel all the way to the UK, and then eat in a ubiquitous chain restaurant, when there are so many good pubs about, hence the call to JB.

But, as others have said, other lines with drink packages do not seem to experience the same issues. The problem is that P&O guests are 100% Brits, and alcohol and Brits is a toxic combination, especially when football is stirred into the mix.

Correct, to a point, but I am sure you accept that by any standards, what MB and other cruisers experienced on Britannia was unacceptable. Boisterous is one thing, being man handled and sworn at is assault.

At the edge because you may only be cruising for another 10 years! P&O need to attract those with 40 years ahead of them.

True, but you need to look at a 10 to 20 year time frame when determining your mid to long term strategy, and not be swayed by short term blips.

JB - there is a thread on the Princess forum about where to eat in Southampton. I don't suppose you could pop over, and give some alternatives to the chain restaurants in the West Quay shopping centre ? -
Absolutely no problem at all, assuming your ship arrives into Southampton on time.

Might be difficult for winter cruises to see the Northern Lights. You might get as far as Cleethorpes !

Yup, I've done that. Unfortunately the majority of the cruisers are Brits, and they do not know about CC or roll calls !
