Whilst I never reduce autotips, I do feel that it is wrong that the tips are shared, by some unknown formula, throughout the fleet. I would prefer it, if my tips go just to the staff on my particular ship.
The end result is probably the same for the crew members, but it seems wrong that only a fifteenth of my autotips will go to "my" ship.
Why amazed ? We normally only enter the MDR around 20:00.
I am amazed at the number of people who eat dinner at 17:00, when it is still the afternoon, as far as I am concerned.
I think we are of the same mind. The constant need to be entertained is not for us either, and certainly not those awful game show events.
Like you, we will set our own schedule, certainly we never pre-book dining, and go with the flow, although we are quite happy to spend a fair amount of time in the MDR, as long as the wine keeps coming.
Happy cruising.
I'm intrigued. What do you do with all your free time in the evening ?
Naff quizzes, awful karaoke, terrible game shows ?
Basically, the evening meal is the centre piece of our evening.
Seems to me the issue is that so many American diners want to eat so early. Thus on cruises with lots of Americans there is an issue.
On European cruises, with a wider customer base, there is no issue, as there is much more spread in dining times. After all, no one in Europe will eat dinner at 17:00 !
So, MB, we are fairly easy going, have a wake view cabin on Britannia in early December this year, and have PE seats on TUI from BHX.
After your experiences I am a little concerned, but hope that by avoiding Christmas we will avoid what you experienced.
As The Clash so succinctly put it, " Shall I Stay or Shall I Go?".
Let us know how you get on, as we are renewing our annual policies as well.
Looks like Avanti are in the running, plus they have a 20% discount if you look at their press ads.
Which is why I always do it myself.
Print off my portfolio, hide/tippex all irrelevant data, take a photo and send off my claim. Takes five minutes, plus I have proof of my application.
