  1. I agree with Major Tom. But, if you arrive an hour or so before your scheduled boarding time, you should be OK. However, you don't mention which ship you are on. If it is Ariva or Iona, the sheer numbers involved make it more difficult than ever to jump the queue.
  2. The seats are released 14 weeks prior, but that is only to select your actual seats, and pay for them. If you want to be in the PE cabin, you need to select that option early.
  3. Just as well that I came back today! Glad to be of help.
  4. We like walking, but not with two, or possibly three suitcases, plus hand luggage each !
  5. The issue is that if you order them to be delivered to your home, but do not collect them, Princess will not have personalised medallions ready and waiting for you at the port. Yes, they will sort out new ones for you, but this takes a certain amount of time. Personally, I would ask for the Medallions to be ready for collection at the port.
  6. Just checked - we actually are on D deck !
  7. Pleased you got sorted. We are in an aft cabin on E deck as well, but are going in early December 23, so, as you would expect, paid a little less than you.
  8. Seems a less than ideal start to a holiday. And Mrs W would divorce me if I suggested it !
  9. Here are some to start with https://www.cruisemapper.com/ports/pointe-a-pitre-port-941
  10. Extremely sensible - I expected nothing less from you ! And yes, thank you, pleased to be back.
  11. Call P&O - they will be able to book PE for you. But, you will have to pay again, (£79 each?)if you want to choose your seat, when bookings open up, 14 weeks prior to departure.
  12. Six hours with jet lag - brave man ! I used to fall asleep halway between Heathrow and Peterborough when driving back from my New York business trips.
  13. Book through whoever booked your cruise. But, they go fast !
  14. I'm surprised that P&O haven't followed Princess, and "fenced" off part of one MDR for suite and club class mini suite cruisers. Open for breakfast, lunch (sea days) and dinner, with a seperate entrance, no reservations required, the same wait staff, and an additional main course for dinner, over and above the standard MDR menu. The club class supplement ( now termed Reserve Class ) for the minisuites would more than offset any extra costs
  15. I think the removal of drawers is a great idea. We always seem to have cabins next to someone who feels it necessary to open and shut every drawer at 7am !
  16. Can I strongly suggest you fuss about the flights as well - ideally you want to fly from a local airport, and I strongly recommend Premium Economy seats, although they come at a price (£409 each, from memory)
  17. Don't forget, on European cruises, the minimum drinking age drops to 18.
  18. I think you should ask yourself why you should NOT do a Caribbean cruise. The only negatives I can see are the relatively long flight times (but not that long compared to, say, flying to Singapore) and jet lag. Everything else is a positive. We did a DiP tour on Guadeloupe when on Arcadia. The town itself is extremely small. 10 minutes and you have seen it all !
  19. Complaints on another site that the lager has now run out on Brittania. I suppose at least that will keep the lager louts quiet !
  20. My mother was one of those. Amazing to think that she still meets 65 year old people who remember her examining them back in the 1960s.
  21. No, I think we are talking about ships producing their own electricity from wind power, solar power etc.
