  1. UK Insurance does have in the T&C that you need to contact them ASAP to authorise treatment if it looks like it's going to be pricey. I think it's so they can rule out pre-existing conditions that you might not have told them about etc. and make sure the patient is covered.
  2. If you wanted to be together you should have booked specific cabins. This is the risk that is taken with guarantees.
  3. It's the modern way. I don't take my own precautions so I start a go fund me and get the public to feel sorry for me.
  4. I'd be interested to know what RCI would do if our UK Insurers promised to pay them via the phone. The only incident I've had with the medical facility is that my girlfriend became unwell about 5 years ago onboard (continuous vomiting / faint). Needed an IV and monitoring for an hour or so. Then felt better. Bill was around $900. It was charged to my card and I claimed back from the insurance once we got back to the UK. In a scenario of thousands of $$$ I'd like to know if they'd accept a UK insurer paying them remotely.
  5. I know someone who was on Oasis last week that has said similar. Really enjoyed it. For contrast, I know someone who is on Oasis this week who has said the food is the worst they've every experienced on any cruise! Strange. They did say they've been mentioning all their issues to the staff rather than just keeping it quiet but said it's bland etc.
  6. We did Moneyland adventures which was great, then took a walk into town after we got back to the port and saw Pink Street & Umbrella Street and had a look round the shops.
  7. There is no need to use the trainline. There is zero benefit over using one of the operator websites and you get charged a booking fee. Use https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/ pay exactly the same price without the booking fee. The timetable for 23rd June is not yet confirmed so you can't book yet though.
  8. Yup. Another vote for Dublin. We landed in Dublin at 11.20am and took off for Newark at 1.00pm ! You've got to book it as a 'through ticket' via Aer Lingus for it all to work though. I was panicking with the short connection time but as the initial flight was on time it was no drama. If the first flight had been late I imagine they'd have put us on the JFK flight.
  9. They should move an Oasis class ship in to do a few sailings while they can
  10. It's not an escape room as such, but more a room with some puzzles in you need to solve in order unlock a box with a medal in (I think it was) which means you win. When we did it they said not many teams were able to complete it due to the difficulty. We completed it with about a minute to spare. It was challenging. I prefer the actual escape rooms though.
  11. Hello I presume there is no issues getting a Subclass 651 eVisitor to enter AUS / cruise, which is a free Visa, seeing as I'm in the UK and looks like we are eligible to apply for them? Thanks.
  12. Also got off Explorer last Sunday. Was actually one of our most favourite cruises. Ship felt very 'fun' and really enjoyed it. I've suggested in the post cruise survey they look to update the quiz questions / music clips they use as I'm sick of hearing the same 20 tracks for the past 3 years! Food is subjective, but both of us found the dining room excellent on this occasion. Food was hot and tasty, service could have been a little quicker but wasn't a problem. Oh, and we really enjoyed Perry Grant too 😉 Totally different piano man style than other ships we've been on.
  13. That's brilliant! looking forward to hopefully seeing that at the end of the week.
  14. Can anyone who's been on Explorer when she's out in the Caribbean advise if they show English Football onboard? I think it'll probably hinge on whether or not the ship has the 'Sport24' channel or not, but someone who's been onboard recently my be able to advise. Thank you.
  15. Boat trip to fabricated local village tickled me 😄
  16. If its stuck at pending this it will drop off in a few days. The bank will say its authorised as they've issued an auth code for it, but if RCI aren't going to claim it then it's never going to move on.
  17. Anyone buying one of the $100,000 chalices that includes a life-time drinks package? 😄 See 'the blog' for further details.
  18. Regardless of if it was transferred to the original agent or not, UK T&C don't allow price adjustments once the booking is made (although I thought you were allowed 1 price adjustment for an onboard booking. Maybe someone else knows). You could look to 'upgrade' to the next cabin class up if that's cheaper than the rate you've currently got as they do allow that.
  19. I'd check here: https://wwwx.miamidade.gov/Apps/Seaport/dailydock/Default.aspx We're on Explorer in a few weeks and show Terminal G
  20. Won't be the last thing not ready either. The reviews from the Maiden voyage will be fun to read 🙂
  21. Very exited to read this 😄 We're going to AUS for the first time in 2025 (having a few days in Singapore on the way), few days in Sydney, then 11 night cruise on Ovation to NZ. It'll be great to get a 'Brits' take on it all.
