  1. I'm thinking with a "glass 10% empty vs. glass 90% full" outlook. Hope that the OP has a great cruise in spite of the minor inconvenience. 👍
  2. That's likely due to fire risk. On many lines, the room steward is instructed to unplug charging devices when the guest is not in the stateroom.
  3. It could be worse......(2019) LINK "Due to repairs in the Haven galley, the Haven restaurant will be closed during your sailing from September 7th to September 14th. We will be providing the following dining alternatives: Cagney’s Steakhouse, Deck 8 Aft, will be open for breakfast and lunch and will serve the current Haven breakfast and lunch menus. A complimentary 7-meal specialty dining package will be provided for you onboard so you can enjoy."
  4. No, they won't be charged in the Haven restaurant. Technically, they could be charged. Realistically, they probably won't be charged. The Haven bartenders usually let things slide (even virgin drinks) for kids but be prepared to be charged if the kids don't have any package. Outside of the Haven, the kids will probably be treated like everyone else. However, bartenders can give a kid a drink if the bar isn't really busy (tip accordingly). 😉 For the soda package (when purchased), there isn't a requirement for others to have a package. One kid could have while the other doesn't. The "under 21" guests aren't charged the Free At Sea service charge unless one of them is guest #2. If not #2, they don't get anything (PBP/Soda package/SDP) and aren't charged anything.
  5. Generally, once your DSC is paid, you are not charged the difference even if you later move up to a stateroom category that has a higher DSC. When you first enter the restaurant, there is a small buffet-like section with "grab and go" items but nothing like the Yacht Club pool deck buffet. It's similar to the "grab and go" section of the Top Sail Lounge on MSC. The Haven menu has espresso, cappuccino, latte and you won't be charged for those. I've never not had a drink package but if you do order drinks, you will be charged if you do not have a drink package. It isn't like the Yacht Club where drinks are included. With NCL, your card will get swiped at the bar.
  6. I was thinking "Return Of The Jedi" (Rancor).
  7. If you factor in the price of the regular cabana, adding Yacht Club access for the day isn't so bad. It didn't work, though.
  8. Did you plan on being able to use the Yacht Club facilities or did you just want a cabana? If you just want a cabana, there are several that are available that are not in the Yacht Club area and they are less expensive than the Yacht Club cabanas. If you planned on being in the Yacht Club area, your plan didn't work when MSC caught on.
  9. There are dates for World America that go all the way to late October 2025. More dates/ships will probably be available after World America gets more bookings.
  10. There are conditions for the Yacht Club date change..... "The free cruise change is applicable either on the cruise dates or on the destination. Such change needs to be performed up to 1 month before departure, for a new cruise to sail within 3 months from the original departure. Any cruise change shall be requested through our contact center."
  11. If your covered drink cost more than $15, you pay the difference plus 20% on that difference.
  12. It depends....what else is new with MSC? My kids went through 4 cans on our most recent YC cruise and we weren't charged nor did we ask for the cans to be replaced.
  13. When Meraviglia first launched, the Duplex Suites we're Aurea. Later, they were upgraded to Yacht Club. The early reviews were from when it was Aurea. If you search YouTube with Meraviglia Duplex Aurea, you'll see many reviews of the staterooms.
  14. Man, I can't keep up.... https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/Beverage_Package_Flyer_04_23.pdf ...this is what is currently on NCL.com...for now.
  15. SDP is assigned to the person and cannot be shared/transfered. You cannot use to cover someone else. CAN I BUY DINNER FOR SOMEONE ELSE WITH MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE? Specialty Dining Packages are sold individually and cannot be transferred. If you wish to pay for someone else’s dinner, you will not be able to use your own SDP.
  16. Royal Suites also have a reserved pergola.
  17. If you're not in a Royal Suite or an Owner's Suites, they are (I believe) first come, first serve.
  18. I think that this is the most recent list.... https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/790164-BEV_Package_Flyer_UOBP_PPBP_Update_FINAL_2_6_23_1.pdf ...but things can always change.
  19. Complimentary access to the Thermal Suite in the MSC Aurea Spa
  20. I know that the thread is bouncing around a bit but it's important for people looking for info to know that the terms differ depending on where you are booking from. My posts are for a USA booking. I hope that they don't confuse anyone looking for UK info.
  21. The rep was incorrect. Initially, everyone is charged the 20% on the PBP (usually $457.80 for 3 people). Once the age of the guests is entered, the system will adjust. In your case, the adjustment would have gone down to $305.20 with the 2 adults getting the PBP and the child getting nothing. Removing the child from the booking took off the 20% from the PBP but if going completely through the booking as you had it, that same amount would have dropped off anyway. If you had entered the child as guest #2, guests #1 and #3 (the adults) would get the PBP and be charged $305.20 plus guest #2 (the child) would have gotten the soda package and been charged $13.93. In other words, the child would have gotten the soda package and the adults would have gotten the PBP via the promo and only paid the service charges on each package.
  22. If it is 2 adults and 1 child, make the child guest #2. The child will get the soda package for the promo and only pay 20% on the package ($1.99 pppd instead of $21.80 pppd). Guest #3 (the adult) will still get the PBP and will pay the same 20% as if guest #2. The issue could be the SDP going to guest #2 (the child) but if the plan was to buy the SDP for guest #3 anyway, nothing will change.
  23. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/cruise/msc-yacht-club (MSC link with info) Specialty chocolate/drinks at Jean-Philippe or Venchi are not included (Venchi used to be included). Gelato and crêpes aren't officially included (anymore...used to be) but you might get a butler to bring either to you at no charge. Specialty dining venues are not included. https://cruisingkids.co.uk/msc-yacht-club/ (A short article on Yacht Club) It's easier for forum members to answer specific questions so if you have any, feel free to ask.
  24. In the US, adult guests (3-8) get the PBP if 1&2 take the PBP promo. If guests 3-8 are under 21 years-old, they do not get the soda package. If guest #2 is under 21, that guest would get the soda package as the promo if #1 takes the PBP promo. Everyone who receives a package via the promo will pay the applicable 20% service charge. What a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) can do is assign the child to be guest #2. That way, the child will get the soda package and only be charged $1.99 per day. If the child is #3, the child will not get the soda package from the promo and would have to pay $11.94 per day to get the same as when the child is #2. The charge/promo for the adults will not change.
