  1. The last time that question was asked people offered explanations from other cruise lines but no hard evidence about Carnival's policies. The lack of transparency is concerning and frankly one reason why some people remove their gratuities.
  2. Yeah JH may just be pandering when he says it but any time gratuities are mentioned he says the number of guests that remove gratuities and pay nothing is quite small.
  3. When someone is making a scene in public it is no longer just their business. It's affecting everyone nearby.
  4. Yeah if somebody is bound and determined to be a donkey, getting too involved never ends well.
  5. You need to stop thinking of service dogs as dogs and pets. They are workers.
  6. Maybe one day you'll learn that it's none of your business.
  7. I know something else that works better to trade like currency... it's called currency.
  8. One of the biggest problems in society today is nobody knows how to mind their own business. Somebody should have told that lady where she could shove it.
  9. this is going to be an extremely busy summer for cruising.
  10. Generally they kick everybody off well before 10AM. I am pretty sure Carnival does have some excursions where they'll take you to the Everglades and then to the airport. Kills some time. I think we all have spent hours and hours in the Miami airport at one point or another.
  11. That website is blogspam and is absolutely not authoritative in any way, shape, or form. As you may know there is no registry for service animals in this country. It is true that the ADA does not recognize any specific breed. I guess at least Carnival allows oxygen again so you can allow your frenchie to breathe while you are on your cruise, I guess.
  12. French Bulldogs can barely breathe, they certainly are not service dogs. They can't take care of themselves.
  13. There is a difference in a tip and an automatic gratuity in that sense, at least to me. I have control with tips that I do not have with automatic gratuities.
  14. Some of us like to know where the money we work to earn goes. It's a fair question don't you think?
  15. I love how these threads always turn into people bragging about how much extra they tip even though nobody asked or cares.
  16. Well as of October 2022 there was no audience participation during the show. It’s possible things have changed since, or will by the time you sail.
  17. Did you find that you got a lot of noise in your room or did the windows do a good job of blocking noise?
  18. I'll say something that a lot of Carnival apologists are unwilling to say, I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Carnival should do a better job of ensuring a family-friendly, fun atmosphere on their ships. It is ruining their reputation with the general public.
  19. Going forward they will probably need to be pretty strict about drop offs only being at the parking lot. The area the port is at is not set up for large scale drop offs or pick ups. Obviously there's not much they can do about people being dropped off a block over and walking, but that at least disperses the traffic somewhat. In Charleston they strictly enforce drop offs. No stopping is allowed anywhere near the port and they don't have porters at the pier so unless you want to walk with all your luggage, you're getting dropped off at the specified area.
  20. The asian and italian just serve bowls of noodles for lunch. The asian converts to Mongolian Wok for lunch and the italian is called something like the captain's pasta bar or something like that as you probably know. Not the full supper menu. But those are pretty much the options available to you, aside from Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana tacos, and the buffet.
  21. Carnival used to publish the breakdown on their website but doesn't anymore. I don't know a current breakdown.
  22. No what happens is these rate codes are often capacity controlled to only a few cabins and when somebody clicks on the offer, it holds a cabin for them for a period of time while they check out. If they don't check out, the cabin goes back into the queue. So check back often in case people abandon the website and don't end up booking.
