  1. yes there are some amenities you get for staying in a spa cabin. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1167/~/cloud-9-spa I don't know how that compares to other lines.
  2. if you want to use the spa amenities yes. otherwise I wouldn't bother.
  3. carnival.com/onlinecheckin 2 weeks or 16 days (if platinum/diamond/suite guest).
  4. I think the Spirit class will live on longer than Fantasy class did for this reason. They fit places others can't and they have the lucrative cabin categories that Fantasy class never could.
  5. You can order a pizza delivery on the app but that's about it - you've always had to call 8000 to order a BLT or continental breakfast. At least on the ships I've been on.
  6. I agree. But you can only do one of those example activities (check your account) from Carnival's app.
  7. I wonder why they didn't put the Elation in Mobile and Spirit in JAX. I guess they feel like the balconies will do better in Mobile.
  8. Carnival has immense authority once they get a few miles out to sea.
  9. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit
  10. The Asian cruise industry is dead on arrival. Maybe 5 years from now it might have a chance.
  11. Thank you for naming them. I watched another video series of theirs a few months ago and didn't save it anywhere and couldn't find it when i wanted to go back to revisit it.
  12. Stock absolutely can go to $0 even if a company has assets. Obviously it usually doesn't - somebody will come in and buy the company before it gets to $0, even if just to pillage the assets. But that doesn't mean it's impossible for it to happen.
  13. Carnival has been simplifying the booking process to encourage either automatically selecting cabins or selecting rate codes that do assigned cabins in the selected category. You have to click "Change Room" on the payment page to go back and choose your preferred cabin.
  14. One thing I loved about the Freedom is it's a lot like the Fantasy class in that there are plenty of lounges and public areas.
  15. All of these ships existed before COVID (except Jubilee that was scrapped earlier). Soon only two will. How quickly the industry changed.
  16. I saw Ecstasy docked in Miami last year before she restarted operations and even then she looked good from the outside. While you could call her dated or outmoded, I would never describe her as derelict. And her crew and food - always at the top of their game in my experience. I have been on many ships since Ecstasy but after nearly every cruise my wife and I say to each other, "it was great but we would have just as soon been on Ecstasy" - frankly I'd book an 8 day cruise on her tomorrow if I could. I will be on her sister Elation in January. I have nothing against the Fantasy class.
  17. I live within an easy 4 hour's drive of Charleston so my wife and I sailed on Ecstasy several times when she was in Charleston. Here is the Lido deck one early morning, I believe this was as we were approaching Amber Cove on one of the first calls to the port after it was completed. And another shot is Ecstasy anchored offshore Half Moon Cay. And finally, Ecstasy moored in the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda.
  18. A lot happens before a stock goes to $0. The stock is delisted from exchanges, buyout/reorganization, etc. Stocks typically don’t just go to $0 overnight.
  19. Yes, using Cellular At Sea. Speak to your cellular carrier to inquire as to how much it costs. carnival offers a social media Wi-Fi plan that allows Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, etc. for I believe around $10 per day.
  20. I used to have several decks of those playing cards, who knows where they are now. The last time I needed change I just got it in the kiosk.
  21. It varies from cruise to cruise actually. On the Sunshine, earlier this year my purchases were delivered to my room on the last night. Two weeks ago purchases had to be picked up from the library on debarkation morning.
  22. Par for the course really on this forum. I imagine most of them would be singing a different tune if they were actually on the ship. It's easy to say you wouldn't be bothered when you're not having to deal with the problem firsthand.
