  1. https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/carnival-corporation-plc-provides-third-quarter-2022-business-update-2022-09-30 $770M loss for the quarter. Stock may hit all-time low. Time will tell.
  2. Personally if it's for work I'd just take vacation time and not deal with the frustration that is Carnival's lackluster internet. It is possible to buy Value and try it out, and if you need Premium you can upgrade and pay the difference. Or, visit Guest Services and cancel the purchase altogether.
  3. I'm only 195 days away from being Diamond, I'm staying right where I am! And by the way - McDonald's charges for sandwiches too! So the grass isn't always greener!
  4. They said they were going to turn a profit over 6 months ago, didn't happen, they are trying to cut amenities to the bone but that is forcing prices down which is forcing deeper cuts which is a vicious cycle.
  5. The obvious answer is a gladiator-style fight on Lido to determine the worthy owner.
  6. It's expensive because it is such a limited resource they're trying to limit how many people sign up for it. Even still, Carnival is 5 years behind their competitors when it comes to their onboard internet.
  7. I agree with @staceyglow I'd say they do so few they don't have a standard menu like they do with 5 day cruises.
  8. The prices go up Oct 1 FYI...I am not sure what the rate will be then...
  9. yes you do need to eat in the steakhouse.
  10. Roulette had 000 on Sunshine right after the restart (and maybe before the restart as well) but before they changed out the tables for the 50th birthday ones. It's back to 0 and 00 now. I doubt they'll go back to 000 after the 50th celebration is over.
  11. As I recall they had to cut 5 feet off the Sensation so she'd fit under the bridge in Tampa... 😉
  12. Whatever you do, don't just sit them or strap them on top of your rolling carry on luggage. I've seen too many people's carryons tip over, 12-packs spilling all over the place.
  13. Exactly, they should have left the tomato soup off the menu. We're going to be spoiled now and expect things like bacon and whole eggs.
  14. they don’t want anyone to actually order this stuff. $5 for a PB&J? Insulting.
  15. All the cutbacks and pretty soon "free" is all the cruises will be worth.
  16. It's true, the little things like that, bath robes in the wardrobe, twice daily room service, chocolate on the pillow - made you feel pampered. Carnival has lost a lot of that charm it used to have.
  17. Pizza is supposed to be open 9AM-4AM. But on the Sunshine this past week there was rarely anyone working at the pizza place until around Noon. From 11:30PM-1AM, the Pizza place sets out trays of Stouffer's Lasagna and Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and Meatballs on some nights. It's supposed to be every night according to the Hub app. At least one night on Sunshine this past week, they didn't set out anything extra and the line for pizza was probably 15-20 deep. Carnival's included food program is basically worse than Golden Corral right now in my opinion.
  18. 18% service charge is added to all checks. gratuity is customary for all deliveries but not required obviously. The service charge is just additional profit for Carnival ($5 for a dry PB&J isn't enough as it is), it is not a tip given to the delivery or kitchen crew. If it was a tip they'd call it a gratuity. I don't want to get into a tipping debate. I used to always tip for room service deliveries. I doubt I'll ever order room service on Carnival again - at these prices it's obvious they don't want anyone to actually order anything. $5 for a dry PB&J and $7 for half an order of TGI Friday's frozen chicken tenders is an insult.
  19. $5 for a PB&J plus "service charge" plus customary tip. It's darn close to $20 for my wife and I to get a sandwich delivered after a port day. Carnival is pricing me off of their ships!
  20. Depending on the ship at least the kiosks are better than they used to be. I am not sure if all the ships have the new white kiosks with the tall screens or not. But those that do, they work much better than the old blue and red ones.
  21. Customs is still there and they use facial recognition to flag people if need be. But I guess they decided it wasn't worth the effort to track down most cruisers for the duty on a few bottles of liquor or cartons of cigarettes. So they mostly just wave people on through nowadays.
  22. The current platinum gift is a "slap bracelet" koozie. I know it's nothing special but I always use a tumbler and these koozies work great with them. Get it while it lasts, wouldn't be surprised if they change the program soon and do away with it altogether.
  23. Don't people waste the nasty danishes and cold cereal they hand out "complimentary" during breakfast hours? Gotta figure that's next on the chopping block...
  24. Yeah according to the menu the cookie and chips are still included. So at least there's that I guess.
