  1. My wife and I are looking at booking something probably around February or April of next year. The rest of this year is pretty much booked for us unless we get a killer offer, then we can make things happen! 🙂
  2. You can make some of the people happy some of the time. No matter what the gift is it will meet with less than universal appeal. It is what it is.
  3. Have heard since COVID, you can't leave Princess Cays to get to George's Bar. Wondering if that's still the case? It seemed to be true when I was there in February of this year.
  4. I don't think they've said anything about Fantasy but I hope they saved some things from her and they'll have a tribute to her as well.
  5. Considering you can't just get up and leave the ship if you don't like the food, it's pretty important for most people even if it isn't for you.
  6. It's a cruise-by-cruise thing. I'd say your hunch is mostly right. But depending on the cruise the $25 tables can be unpopular so it's tough to get a rhythm going.
  7. Have you sailed over the past month or so? They closed it over the past month or so for supper but left it open for lunch.
  8. Good to hear Fun21 is still a $6 minimum, at least for the time being on some ships. I often bet more but I like being able to cool off at $6 for a while if need be.
  9. Will you be sailing on the Celebration? I plan to but haven't booked anything yet. Personally, Miami is an easier port for me to get to than Canaveral so I haven't really cared to cruise on Mardi Gras.
  10. There is a "Follow" button at the top of the thread. You do not need to comment "Following"
  11. Cruise with them on Thanksgiving and you'll get that. I think that's the only time they serve all those foods at once. I've never seen it any other time.
  12. Bringing Liquor and Beverages On Board - Embarkation Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles. On embarkation day, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk), packaged in cans or cartons, may be brought on board and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less, per person. Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage. Outside this exception, all liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided. Guests sailing with us on back-to-back cruises are entitled to bring the same quantity as stated in this policy, per cruise. The additional quantities will be stored for safekeeping at the start of the first cruise and will be given to the guest as each following cruise begins.
  13. Did you then tell Carnival you were exposed on their pre-boarding health assessment form?
  14. John Heald reported on Facebook that Chef's Table is back but no word yet on Cucina. It might be a cutback but it's free during lunch and paid during supper. They left the free lunch portion and cut the paid supper portion. So I don't see how it's a cutback since they're giving up revenue. But go off.
  15. One would have to lie to one or the other - either the insurance company to get the test free, or lie to Carnival and say they don't have symptoms on their health assessment form to get on the ship. I'm not really OK with the lie and would prefer the testing just goes away.
  16. On board spend is just as, if not more important I'd say. Their capacity is higher but they apparently now have too much tonnage, and Carnival doesn't have enough.
  17. I think Costa may be one of those low occupancy lines, and look how many ships CCL is taking from them.
  18. Of all the companies I am comfortable lying to, my health insurance ranks pretty low. This testing song and dance needs to end.
  19. You are forgetting about Costa, Cunard, Princess, all the other lines Carnival owns. CCL might be sailing full - but those other lines are not.
  20. We will know when you know. Carnival's COVID policies page is regularly updated with the latest information. https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/covid-19-guest-protocols?icid=advisory_cruisehealth_040122
  21. There will be a new variant either coming, here, or on it's way out, for the rest of our lives.
  22. I expected testing to be gone by the end of this month. Things are moving a little slower than I thought. I don't think it's going to last much longer in any case.
  23. That is a good point, Carnival's product is horribly diluted right now compared to even just before COVID.
  24. If Lowe's went out of business because Home Depot out pizza'ed the hut so to speak, sure. But I don't see that as what's happening here. I'd see Carnival's failure as a bellwether for the pleasure cruise industry at large.
  25. I would do the Horizon since you've never been to any of those stops at all.
