  1. Duty free liquors have been limited since the restart because of supply constraints.
  2. I've experienced time changes because of DST but not because of time zone differences. All the cruises I've been on have kept to the home port's time, even when the ship crosses time zones to go to Bermuda, Aruba, etc. My understanding is changing time zones is up to the captain.
  3. soft tacos are made with flour tortillas, hard tacos are made with corn tortillas.
  4. It's up to the ship's medical staff. There is no rule saying yes or no on boarding. They may deny boarding, require you to submit to a test at the pier, or just wave you along with no additional screening. It's up to their judgement.
  5. I just order a bowl without a shell.
  6. Considering it's readily and rapidly spreading, and will for the rest of our lives, I don't see how it's making any difference at all.
  7. Other than the ethical duty that some may feel to answer truthfully, I can't see any reason to do so given you are asymptomatic and test negative. All it is going to do is delay boarding. Unless you're trying to get out of the cruise, in which case there are easier ways to accomplish that.
  8. I like the promenade (except for the smoky casino) especially on elegant nights as folks are walking to/from supper or the show. How everyone looks into the lounges or waits to get their picture taken. The sights and sounds are just unmistakably cruising. The smells I could do without (sadly I was not able to cruise during the few weeks where they didn't allow smoking in the casino). I also like Serenity, especially Sunshine's Serenity.
  9. According to PortMiami, the current rate for a taxi to/from PortMiami to MIA is $27. I feel like an Uber or Lyft is less expensive. And it's only about a 15 minute drive depending on traffic.
  10. For me I would prefer to go out of Miami as it is an easier port to get to, assuming you are flying anyway. So I would pick Celebration. Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao just makes the decision even easier. The Mardi Gras ports are certainly nice as well, but they're not as special as the southern Caribbean (and most would agree with that).
  11. Funfetti cheesecake is served on Lido during embarkation. I love it. I am not big on the creme brulee frankly. Each to their own.
  12. I think they want to get people off the expensive cheers on us and tons of OBC promotions. I know many of us have seen the offers we're getting lately aren't as lucrative as the ones we were getting back when our fall cruises were originally booked (even the casino offers are drying up I am reading).
  13. Yes, pretty much every change you make to your booking - even things like changing the names of the people in the room - is a rebooking.
  14. they’ll stop in Victoria or somewhere in BC typically.
  15. You should check with your carrier because a lot of plans these days allow roaming in Canada for free. So you would only need to worry about roaming charges when on the ship itself, you don't want to connect to Cellular at Sea because that is very expensive no matter what plan you have.
  16. Pretty much all your Q's are answered by Carnival's Cheers FAQ: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3525/~/cheers!-beverage-program-q%26as As far as the 18 year old - no alcohol will be served to them at all.
  17. Some of them I believe are trolls. People with nothing but time on their hands and want to see if they can get featured on JH's page.
  18. I vote Freedom out of Canaveral. She is a bigger ship than Sunshine yet holds the same number of guests so less busy. She does not have all the upgrades of Sunshine but I personally wouldn't care about that. Sunshine is the second oldest ship in the fleet and at this point she is like an old beach motel that was nicely remodeled about 10-15 years ago but never touched again. If your family is the kind that likes the rock climbing walls etc on Royal then maybe ignore my advice.
  19. "If it moves, salute it. If it doesn't move, paint it." is the motto of the Navy I have heard.
  20. My wife and I usually find a bartender on the first night just as the casino is opening and make friends for the rest of the cruise.
  21. I was on Sunshine in February - basically 60 days from her drydock - and other than the fresh hull paint you would have never known she was drydocked. Carnival is really letting their ships go right now. It's a shame.
  22. I really can't believe they're willing to give in on their signature funnel design. They should have kept this a Costa ship like the other ships (the "Costa by Carnival" collection).
  23. It's not getting the funnel, is it at least going to get Guy's Burgers?
  24. You should check with the pit bosses or casino hosts if you are interested in your eligibility for comps.
