You need to consider the cost of the FAS gratuities. It is about $40 per day for two people. that amounts to about 4 or 5 drinks. If your husband will have that many then the package even with both of you paying for it is worth while, if he won't drink enough drink to cover the gratuities then opt to pay as you go.
what does Whittier have to do with a cruise sailing into Seward? OP is better off on the smaller ship. the only people who spend the inside passage day inside the ship are the ones who came to AK for the wrong reason. AK is all about scenery and the place to see it is outside. Wise people are outside enjoying the cruise not inside he ship.
op should book the one way and plan on renting a car in Anchorage and staying at least a night or two exploring the area.
We don't find the Vancouver terminal to be a nightmare, it's just different because you have to clear US customs before boarding the ship. IMO the Vancouver - Seward trip is the way to go for scenery. The inside passage alone makes this trip superior than a Seattle round-trip.
You can share a plan. My wife and. I do it all the time and in fact I share my plan between my iPad and my laptop. Only one device can be logged in at a time.
As you enter the cabin the shower is on one side of the passage and the toilet is on the other. They are closed off with frosted glass partitions or doors if you will.
Kids or people without the dining package do not have to order off a different menu, in fact most children over the age of about 8 will not order off the kids menu.
The menus are not the same every night. They have a portion that doesn't change but most of the menu changes nightly. The menus are the same in both dining rooms.
