  1. Some VIFP offers are indeed only valid for 1 time use.
  2. I don't mean to disrespect, but why do people still call it Captain's dinner? I'm genuinely curious.
  3. We're cruising out of POM next July ans staying 4 nights pre cruise. Since the nicer hotels are crazy expensive I started looking at VRBO listings. I'm finding a modern looking apartment in Brickell/downtown but I'm scared to pull the trigger. Does anyone here have positive experience to share about VRBO properties?
  4. Willdra, I can't tell you how much I enjoy your writing style. You are the only reviewer that makes me laugh OUT LOUD at every single post! You're sure you don't want to review more events in your life? Like Thanksgiving and family reunions? 😉
  5. We are 6 ladies visiting Amber Cove next month and we booked a private driver for the day. Two of us have mobility issues, so hiking and climbing is out of the question. What are the must sees and must dos we can fill our day with? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  6. I have kind of the similar question. We just need to go to Margarittaville when we dock. It's a short distance but not walkable for my mother. Will the taxi drivers be ticked off for such a short (cheap) drive?
  7. My mom and I did enjoy the Cupcakes class. We're both good bakers and it was indeed pretty basic, but it was a fun activity to do together on a sea day.
  8. My motto is better have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. If the rules are not clear, just get tested in order to avoid any issues. Friends of ours were denied boarding in Barcelona (different cruise line) after phone reps told them no booster required, but the terminal employees didn't let anyone board without one. The cruiseline's website was very vague about requirements.
  9. Ferry_watcher, I hope you won't mind if I ask you an off topic question. Being from a country that requires an ESTA to enter the US - every time I'm asked at the cruise terminal to show my ESTA approval. And every time after showing it, I ask the agent: if I didn't have an approved ESTA, I would not have been able to pass airport immigration. So the fact that I'm standing here, must tell you that my ESTA is ok. Why must I still present it? To this day no one can answer that question.
  10. Officially it's not allowed. But I have debarked at a port of call and stayed in 2019 because my son wasn't feeling well. I had to hand in my passport the night before to Guest Services and deal with local immigration.
  11. I truly do not care what anything sounds like to you. Were you on this ship recently? Don't think so. I was on her 1.5 weeks ago, and none of OP's complaints ring a bell. Maybe 1 Lido sofa had cracks and they took a pic. But all furniture and carpet we've seen were in good shape, food was the exact same as on other ships. After 30 cruises on Carnival, I've come to know what to expect and Sunrise didn't disappoint. As mentioned earlier, the behavior of guests (fights breaking out, children throwing food in hallways and elevators, etc) was disturbing, but not the shape of the ship.
  12. We just got off the Sunrise a week and a half ago. Was it our best cruise? No. But it sounds like you were specifically looking for the bad things. We experienced more guests behaving badly than the shape of the ship. Still not complaining.
  13. No more shuttles from cruise terminal to the airport.
  14. I travel with these and place it in the cabin fridge. Works perfectly.
  15. I have stayed in an Excel suite on the Mardi Gras. Free movies (the ones you usually pay for), free bottomless bubbles package, free room service. ALL items. It was wonderful.
  16. Well, this didn't go as planned for me. At the 1st sea day brunch I ordered a cappuccino after eating. 2nd brunch I wanted to cash in on my free drink by ordering a cocktail. Turns out they filed my cheap cappuccino as my free drink.... 😀
  17. Have a travel advisor book the couple plus a fictional guest in the cabin. Then cancel guest nr. 3 before paying the deposit.
  18. How was this penalty assessed?? Was it added to your on board account? This seems pretty strange for a regular no show.
  19. The booster is required if you want to test 3 days prior to the cruise.
  20. Wishful thinking will make people hear and read all kinds of things....
  21. AFAIK, only the guest with the offer gets to book a cabin. Any additional cabins would need guests with qualifying offers booked.
  22. Yes, I have a friend who got off the Pride today. She had a less than pleasant cruise and claims for instance, the food was awful. Guest Services loooooong line, ship in a deteriorated state. Being a Diamond guest and having sailed most of the fleet she was surprised by the negative experience.
  23. Nope. This is what is written: The vaccination dates must indicate the guest has completed the required doses no later than 14 days prior to the sailing date (not including embarkation day). This is about the required doses, NOT the booster. For Caribbean cruises boosters are NOT required. So there is no mention of the booster specifically being required within 14 days of sailing.
  24. This still didn't answer the question whether the booster needs to be minimal 14 days prior to the cruise nor a mention of a 2nd booster.
