  1. Only passengers booked on the full world cruise were invited to this event.
  2. I was told 55 leaving, 57 joining for a new total of 323 to Sydney.
  3. I’m reading on Seabourn Sailors that the jackets and boots issue on Quest is being resolved by Venture having left behind a supply at a research station in Antarctica, for Quest to pick up? If so, I have to admire to creativity…
  4. There are no ships in the Med currently. Last summer in the Med was atypical given the restart and under-staffing.
  5. For what it’s worth, the same happened on our recent Seabourn cruise. Only 1 bar open for alcoholic beverages.
  6. It’s open for lunch every day on Sojourn now, but I don’t know if that’s typical or just for the World Cruise. There’s hardly anyone there though.
  7. The Beagle Channel and Ushuaia are stunning, and it’s a glaring omission from this year’s and next year’s Grand South America itinerary.
  8. We won’t be landing, it was marketed as “cruising only”, although I understand they’ve now invited locals to come on board Sojourn.
  9. It’s a requirement for Chile / Easter Island, our next stop.
  10. There are no Cruise Critic get togethers for Seabourn but last night’s meet and greet for the other “Sailors” group was awesome. Live music, great snacks and cocktails, and all Officers in attendance. I’m guessing about 80 passengers (out of 324) were present. Seabourn truly outdid itself.
  11. It’s been really, really bad up and until Lima where a technician joined to fix the problem, whatever it was. However, immediately upon leaving Lima we were informed that the WiFi would now be slow until Papeete because of limited satellite cover over the South Pacific… So we’re supposed to finally find out how the WiFi is supposed to work once we reach Tahiti around 5 February!
  12. Oh dear, I almost got stressed just from reading your post lol For what it is worth… We boarded Sojourn on 21 December for 166 nights. We completed the online check-in ~21 days prior (easy), got the suitcases out 7 days prior, noticed our boarding passes had appeared in Source about 9 days prior and completed the medical questionnaire 3 days prior. We didn’t bother with Verifly, luggage tags or anything else. We had the easiest embarkation ever and life on board is as perfect as ever. Relax! You’re going on holiday! 🙂
  13. And I’m sure you already know that when Sojourn was in port the next two days, it became a technical stop only… no shore leave at all for guests and crew. You arrived and left just in time!
  14. The “damage” to Sojourn from the Manta docking debacle on full display…
  15. Well, Callao/Lima was just cancelled for Sojourn due to safety concerns. Service call only, to take on fuel, supplies and to bring those pesky Galapagos people back on board 😉 No passenger disembarkation allowed. We’ll leave for Easter Island early.
  16. We will definitely stop as they’re loading the next 2 weeks worth of food and supplies there, plus some crew is changing. We’re just debating with ourselves whether or not we’ll get off the ship. Sounds from your post it’s doable; thank you.
  17. Sailing to Lima, Peru now which is under a State of Emergency because of riots/protests. We skipped the Galapagos tour because we already visited on Celebrity Expedition a few years back.
  18. Yes, 3 lines snapped within ~45 minutes. The sound is amazing, like an explosion. The swell at the dock was insane. Lots of crashing glasses etc. at the Colonnade.
  19. There was a tremendous amount of whining about Quest on this forum during its recent Canada season. We went late October (Montréal to Miami) and had the very best of times, so I’ve stopped reading the reviews on here.
  20. It’s worth it if you spend at least one night there. Santorini truly shines after all the cruise ships of the day have sailed away 🙂
  21. Thank you! We’re 4 days behind you on Sojourn. Will have a look 🙂
  22. Would you mind sharing some information on your private food tour? That sounds interesting!
