  1. There is no “tux, coats” rule on any Seabourn ship. The only ask is a dinner jacket in The Restaurant on formal-optional nights. That’s it. Many people on here confuse what the dress code is with what they would like it to be or what “my husband and I…” do. All of that is irrelevant.
  2. It’s an Australian requirement for ships on which >10% of people on board have Covid (passengers and crew combined). That’s not the case for Odyssey. Masks are required on Odyssey because Carnival decided to require masks on all its ships in Australian waters regardless of how many cases there are on board - as per their press release.
  3. Somebody posted in Seabourn Sailors that Europe 2024 will be released tomorrow.
  4. I’m hoping that releasing itineraries late leads to more reliable schedules… No/less cancellations due to full ship charters, less decisions to re-route a ship because of lingering Covid restrictions, etc.
  5. Every Saturday someone posts an issue with the website on here and every Saturday the answer turns out to be the same - they’re doing maintenance during the weekend. Check again on Monday and it’ll very likely all be fine. PS. Why people stress about TKG reservations months in advance is beyond me. We never book until we’re on board and have never been disappointed. Relax. You’re on vacation. On Seabourn at that.
  6. You can reach tender level by elevator but it’s 6 steps down to get into the tender itself. On the other end, it varies by location if there are steps (and how many) or a ramp to get from the tender to the dock.
  7. https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2022-07/18_July_Eastern_Seaboard_Cruise_Protocols.pdf Check “Tier 3 protocols”.
  8. Australia requires masking on board cruise ships IF the percentage of people (pax + crew) exceeds a certain number.
  9. That one plus a handful of other Pursuit sailings have been open for bookings for 3+ months now. I think they’re holding off labeling any sailing “inaugural” until they have more certainty around the delivery date.
  10. It’s not an Australian government mandate (yet), but a decision from Carnival. https://amp.9news.com.au/article/63cb4890-bca2-46df-af69-99af50ea8e60 They are going above and beyond the current rules of the country. Floris
  11. Australia mandates mask wearing on cruise ships *if* on board cases exceed a certain percentage of people on board.
  12. There used to be a woman who practically lived on board Celebrity ships, who as always seen pushing around her service dog in a baby pram… to the bars, to dinner, to the theatre… everywhere!
  13. The Captain last cruise was Jeroen Schuchmann. He’s on loan from HAL.
  14. I think everyone gets it: for you and others it is important that The Restaurant is open for lunch every day. You’ve made that loud and clear. Why would anyone deny that that is your opinion? What I object to are statements along the lines of, if you disagree with me, you don’t understand what a luxury line is. And if Seabourn doesn’t open The Restaurant for lunch every day, they are no longer a luxury line. That is just stirring the pot. Many first timers come here looking for factually correct information. What I therefore also object to is the false information that is being spread by a few. People have claimed that The Restaurant is no longer open for breakfast. That’s not true; it’s open from 8 am to 9 am. People have claimed that The Restaurant is no longer open for lunch. That’s also not true; as always it’s still open on sea days from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Lastly, I’ve read a few times now “The Restaurant is only open for breakfast for an hour”. Again, not true. You’re being asked to walk in between 8 am and 9 am. If, like us, you walk in at 8:50 am, you’ll still be enjoying a wonderful breakfast come 10 am. So it’s open for much longer than an hour. All this dramatizing is just not helpful.
  15. This is post #193 on this thread yet ultimately, the situation on board (Quest, right now) is exactly the same as it was during my first Seabourn cruise in 2014 - The Restaurant is open for breakfast daily, and for lunch on sea days only. Nothing has changed and I therefore don’t understand what all the fuss is about. (Yes, occasionally, if a high percentage of crew is in self-isolation, The Restaurant may not be open for breakfast or lunch. A shame, but that’s the times we live in.)
  16. I use the Blacklane app to pre book private black cars for transfers anywhere in the world.
  17. We’re 369 on Quest currently apparently. Hasn’t been an issue.
  18. I’m purely speculating, but this might have something to do with the ratio between the total number of passengers on board vs. available crew (crew NOT in self-isolation). If the ship is full and a high percentage of crew has Covid, certain services might simply not be available on a sailing? Just my 2 cents.
  19. We just boarded Quest yesterday, Montréal to Miami. The Restaurant is open for breakfast every day from 8 am to 9 am. The Restaurant is open for lunch on all 4 sea days from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. It’s also open for lunch on the day we sail from New York - which probably is because our departure time is 12 noon. Hope this helps. Floris
  20. Both Sojourn and Odyssey are in Japan in spring 2024.
  21. Sadly a small number of people doesn’t allow you to post anything positive on this forum any more.
  22. Kusadasi (for Ephesus) and Mykonos definitely - if you haven’t been yet.
  23. No, it’s not open for interpretation. It says collar. It does not say long sleeves. A short sleeved polo with slacks is perfectly fine. And this is precisely why these topics always get closed by the moderators. Because people start confusing what the dress code is with what they want it to be.
