  1. He is just a really good kid. He is 19 and his passions are music and fishing. He plays a wide array of musical instruments and is in the symphony. He also works on a charter boat. It is a lot of work but he loves it. He stays out of trouble and stays busy doing the right things.
  2. Well my son finally put ring on it. I am very happy. His girlfriend is so nice. My to be grandson is pretty great too.
  3. I just noticed on the Bella cruise thread that people had completed their health check in. What happens if you have not had a booster?
  4. I am so sorry about all the challenges that you and your family are having to overcome. Like OB said hang in there. Ricky has a very handsome face.
  5. My cars over the years and please note I am not a car person so I don't know the specifics of the cars. Camero - first car (wish I still had it, probably from the 60s) VW Beetle - green, brand new 1973 Opel Misc. ugly cars Mustang - Black no air had to get rid of when moving to Texas Mustang - Blue with air PT Cruiser - purple HHR - green Chrysler 200 - gold (favorite car ever) Chrysler 300 - purple (will keep forever because I love sedans and they don't make them anymore and I don't ever want an EV)
  6. I wouldn't change anything I currently have or do except I would have a housekeeper come once a week and a gardener come twice a week. Then the Refuge would not need anything for the medical building. That is my lottery dream.
  7. Those are all beautiful quilts and quilt tops. My thoughts (being a fiber artist I appreciate the value of the quilts) is to keep the 2 bedroom condo. It is the one you already own and loved enough to want to live there. I would give the cousins the quilts that they will appreciate. I would pick out the quilts that give you happy memories of your mom. If you don't have much art on the walls then use the quilts as artwork. There are many ways to display and hang them. You can also have a cedar chest at the foot of each bed full of quilts that you can change out as the seasons change. Then you can always throw a couple over a sofa or chair. This will get a lot of the quilts out of the boxes. If there is a top you want to keep reach out to a quilt guild to find someone to finish it for you. Keeping the rest of the quilts in boxes in a spare bedroom is not going to give you joy but cause you stress. You could reach out to quilt guilds to get ideas on how to sell/donate etc. the quilts/tops you don't want. There are also auction houses that specialize in quilts. My husband restores farm equipment as a hobby. Over the years several of his friends have passed, leaving behind large collections of farm equipment. Some of the widows are hesitant to sell at auction because the auction house takes a percentage, so now the equipment is rusting away in a shed someplace. Even if only breaks even at auction, the person who bought the equipment in the first place had the joy of owning it, fixing it up and showing it, now it can go someplace else to be enjoyed all over again and not just gathering dust/rust in the dark.
  8. I like Land's End. They have a wide variety of suits you can actually swim in.
  9. 81 plus humidity = air conditioning for us. Also, 81 = no see ums so no opening windows = air conditioning. Plus the pollen is very high right now.
  10. Yikes. That sounds so cold. It is 68 right now and should be 81 later. Have to turn on the air conditioner later. Stay warm.
  11. Questions for people who have been on recent cruises: How is the Indian food. I love a good curry and the sample menus I saw had Indian food nightly. How many towels do you get with once a day service? I shower in the morning, but I also will shower before dinner if we have been active during the day. I have found that the towels don't dry between uses that way. Can you ask for extras if they don't give extras?
  12. We are finally cruising from Tampa, 7 nights to Cozumel, Roatan, Costa Maya and Belize on Royal Caribbean. No restrictions on this cruise.
  13. @dani negreanuI am so sorry. That is not a fun way to start a get away. I hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly for you.
  14. Galveston - It has been a few years since cruising out of Galveston, it was an easy drive for us when we lived in Texas. Harbour House Pier 21 - we stayed there twice, Starbucks is right across the street, we left our car there for the week (part of the package) and walked to the ship. Holiday Inn Resort - stayed there once. Could leave car there and get shuttle to ship. Ok but took awhile to get the shuttle back and forth. Several times we drove the day of and parked at Lighthouse parking across the street from the port. Very quick shuttle to and from the lot. Be sure to park on the high side of the lot. Galveston is prone to flooding everywhere. I like Galveston Island - the pyramids, the Strand, the beach is ok, the Pleasure Pier, Shlitterbahn, Guido's for oysters.
