  1. ^This^ We were on the Royal in Sept. Unlike our experience on the Grand in 2019, neither our waiter nor the dining room supervisor were willing to go very it far off menu. No steak and eggs, no custom omelette, basically what was an the menu- take it or leave it. The service and attitude on the Grand were worlds apart from what we received on the Royal.
  2. And you paid for the crepes onboard- It's called "Basic Cruise Fare". NOTHING is free.
  3. This last minute deal seems too good to be true - but it's not! You and a guest can sail for on select voyages for a total of $100. Don't miss out... 4. I got this as a casino offer. Fantastic fares, coast to coast Panama Canal fare $200 inside with similar fares for balconies. Need to book by Jan. 2. The sailings are all for Jan. '23. February I could do.
  5. Head to the casino and cash out there. Transfer the amount you want to cash out and add it to your casino account that you set up to play. Play a few bucks and then cash out at the casino cage. Easy-peasy. Do this before the last night of your cruise.
  6. Call again and you will get a 3rd different answer!
  7. Check near the sports court. The Majestic and Royal had them there.
  8. I'm with you, BT. PCL is slowly strangling the Golden Goose. Ala carte is the way to go for light/non-drinkers. If there are 2 in the cabin, a 4 device plan is is the most economical plan for the internet if you are Platinum or higher at $10 per day for the cabin.
  9. I might add that this video shows only 1 bed in the down position. If you have 4 pl in the room, the lower beds will be split so that the steward can service the beds.
  10. This kid should answer your questions. This is from the Caribbean Princess not the Royal, however all balcony rooms are basically the same when it comes to bunk beds. Any room that has a couch/love seat will have only 1 bunk bed.
  11. In the casino, butt planted at the machines.
  12. Sirius/XM radio streamed flawlessly for me in the casino on the Royal in September.
  13. No receipt involved, it's all paperless. Take your medallion to the cage and tell them you want to cash out. You will sign a cash-out slip at the cage.
  14. Suite, Elite, Platinum and then C.C. followed by the rest of the passengers. Or at least that is the pecking order that I have observed.
  15. We usually get ours via email.
  16. Ah, Northstate formal wear!
  17. I was on the Majestic to Alaska in Aug. '21. We had a deluxe obstructed balcony, M102. At no time were there restrictions on balcony access or lighting at night. Our next door neighbor had their light on most evenings. Our cabins were directly on the roof of the bridge, slightly aft of the bridge windows (if that makes a difference). They don't lock the sliders, just a warning about high winds on a sticker on the glass. The metal balcony wind deflector does a good job at keeping the wind somewhat at bay. On our cruise, we were able to stand out on our balcony while underway in open ocean. The payoff to this room was when cruising the calm waters of the Inside Passage, a full 180 deg panorama from the comfort of your balcony.
  18. I put our left over mini-bar in my suitcase and drove home.
  19. Notify your waiter about splitting the tab when seated.
  20. A passport card is a driver's license sized ID card that looks a lot like the info page with your photograph from your passport. It is available as an option when you renew your passport. I don't know if you can get one outside of renewal. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/card.html
  21. I use a U.S. Passport Card. This is carried with my passport. I leave the passport in the safe and carry the card onshore for universal ID.
  22. Virgin Martini- 3 olives on a toothpick.
  23. When was the last time that you used them? As I said, when inquiring for for my cruise, less than 2 months ago, I placed a direct call to the lot (I have previous success with this, Chuy was the contact person for my previous reservations) and was told that they no longer take reservations anymore. It is first come, first served.
  24. I tried to reserve a spot @ 80 Francisco in Sept. '22 and was told that they do not take reservations anymore. It is now first come, first served. It will probably be full from the cruise that is disembarking. Timing can be "iffy".
