  1. @sid_9169.....as a much older senior than you....for the first time I used flight boarding pass on my phone. NEVER again will I go to printing out a boarding pass....so much easier and didn't kill any trees in the process. Orlando airport is my worst nightmare. Just wait, it is even larger now with the new terminal. Best money I have spent in a long time is for TSA Precheck otherwise in Orlando I'd be ready to go ballistic.
  2. WOW seems like every review I've been following lately has had Med Evacs. Praying all are ok. Enjoy your final days on board.
  3. @crewsweeper...I think I remember someone reporting that Jacks has been sold fairly recently. Also MV is busy enough with one ship in port I can't imagine how crowded it is with 2 ships in port. We usually would sit on the beach to the right of the dock away from crowds. With 2 ships in port I'd probably stay on the ship! Enjoy!
  4. @EngIceDave....I am working on building my stamina now at 3 months po....walking daily it's the aerobic I have to build up....but I'm not 30 not even 50 anymore. But definitely doing better. Glad your knee is doing well.
  5. @sid_9169....thanks for the LOL moment and staying true to the Sid all TRIBE members know and love with your comment about the chances of you placing your bank card into an ATM machine in Mexico
  6. @EnglceDave....are you icing that knee? Hope you brought along some tape which would be a huge help on your busy walking days.
  7. Anyone have any updates, now I too am worried!
  8. @sid_9169...do you follow Jeff & Patti's post cruise reviews here on CC...online he is Jamman54. They cruised out of Port Canaveral and I believe they stayed in a Homewood2 Suites or something like that and it was very economical and clean, it appeared fairly new. I agree with you the surroundings at Port Canaveral are NOTHING like your style in Atlanta or Miami, but a lot of cruises sail out of Port Canaveral. Honestly even Orlando has become too crowded for my liking anymore, but I am not a city person like you are. I remember Orlando back in the 80's! Look at it this way, you may save a few $$$$ precruise with no great eating and drinking establishments.
  9. @crewsweeper...curious why you chose to venture outside of Amber Cove ILO enjoying the huge pool there? Too crowded? Weather everywhere is crazy right now!
  10. @sid_9169....this one is going to be a record setter for sure....already 20+ following. You definitely need to pursue writing and/or food/cruise blogger.
  11. From other reviews it appears that Emeril's is finally taking off and gaining popularity. Sounds like you are having a lovely cruise so far despite your physical circumstances. I too would be avoiding Suessipolooza and opting for a relaxing day....ENJOY!
  12. We always would book a cove balcony on available ships, however your cove on the MG definitely looks like it shrunk in size vs other ships. BUT glad to see they got rid of the shower curtain! ENJOY your cruise....definitely the only thing we miss about living in Florida is availability to all the ports.
  13. Welcome back Megan you have been missed here more than you know! Some forgot you had civic duty when you arrived home!
  14. @jimbo5544...not sure how you are accomplishing this but not seeing lots of people in your photos, it is like the ship is empty!
  15. @jimbo5544....oh how I enjoy the serenity of an empty ship deck in the early morning hours!
  16. @jimbo5544...great entertainment watching those pier runners! Prayers for those in the accident as well as any passenger who had to leave due to a medical emergency, no fun for sure.
  17. @Jamman54...your pics of all the ships at Port Canaveral bring back memories for me of when we lived in Central Florida and would take our wave runner over there. You REALLY get the feel for the massive size of the ships when you are in the water next to them on a wave runner! One of the MAJOR advantages of living in Central Florida the proximity to ALL the Florida ports for cruising and we sure took advantage of it.
  18. @Jamman54...thanks for asking about my knee...11 weeks post op now. It is wonderful to be back in Arizona where it is warmer than Massachusetts! I am riding the stationary bike 10 minutes a day, lower tension and walking each day. I am doing good and feeling good. Yesterday was an "off" day with swelling, which is to be expected, so I just walked and then iced and relaxed most of the day. Learning this recovery is for the long haul not the short one! Did book our 18 days cruise to Hawaii for next January, On HAL out of San Diego, trip of a lifetime for us, figure at 70 it is time to start enjoying retirement and spending some of that savings!
