  1. Yesterday's Cadiz Blog episode and today's daily programme have been uploaded to my blog at https://blog.rakkor.uk
  2. I'm far too young, almost a callow youth - I had my flu jab a couple of weeks back
  3. I've been suffering with a cold for the last couple of days, a proper cold with sore throat and wheezy chest. I've been really worried it's going to be COVID and it's causing me a dilemna, what do I do if I test positive, and what happens to you? Do you get chucked off the ship, there aren't any quarantine cabins any more. Any way we went into Cadiz and got some Spanish Lemsip, and some rapid flow tests the bad news is the Lemsip tastes awful, the good news is I'm negative. So now I'm free to spread my germs around the ship
  4. There have been loads of of people pre-booking them on board. Apparently they are all going in a spreadsheet and will be entered as sales when the are live
  5. We've arrived in Cadiz this morning and I've posted yesterday's Blog entry along with today's Daily Programme to https://blog.rakkor.uk - Time for some Breakfast
  6. We're currently sat on the balcony, and the internet is OK, perfectly adequate for general internetty stuff - Signal strength is Weak/Medium on my Chromebook - Again this is in 4098 so YMMV
  7. On the steamers on the Promenade deck it's toasty in the sun, on the starboard side people were wrapped in blankets. Inside it varies, It's been chilly in the Winter Garden when it's cold outside, in the PG dining room it's perfect for me, but some of the ladies, Jane included, were saying it was warm.
  8. @aday10 Here you go - the quality it not brilliant Embarkation-Oct_01.pdf
  9. Had to be quick this morning off the Portugal coast before the sun disappeared behind the clouds
  10. It was the Black and White Gala night last night and we (certainly in PG) all got a welcome aboard glass of fizz, which Jane enjoyed and then when we got back down to the stateroom there was another half bottle, Pol Acker this time, and in place of my usual turn down chocolates was a little box of Charbonnel and Walker salted caramel truffles which weren't mine apparently.
  11. I am liking the new world of Cunard Internet - my Zoom call yesterday went without a hitch and blog posting has been seamless - It slowed a little at bed time last night when, I assume, everyone was checking their phones
  12. Today's Daily Programme has been uploaded (LINK) to my blog. I was going to make them all inserts into the page, but I reckon once the page is populated it will be very slow to load, so I've made it so only the current Daily Programme is an insert, all others are links @aday10 It took me a while to figure out how to capture the files so I never got around to doing that one - I'll photograph it, the quality wont be great though
  13. I've just uploaded day 2's musings to https://blog.rakkor.uk
  14. The Daily Programme is made up of 6 pages in the pdf viewer and It was a matter of right clicking on each page and saving as a png - you have to save all six - then it's just a matter of using an online png2pdf converter - a bit of a faff, but it works and it means I can upload each day easily - I tried to scan at home when they first changed format and my scanner doesn't like the skinny format
  15. I finally figured out how to make a pdf of the Daily Program, so I shall be posting them on my blog - for this cruise they can be found HERE in my Blog Thanks to @rafinmd @Pushpit & @D&N for the inspiration
  16. It's a wee bit squally at the moment, but mainly flat calm seas and a lovely sunny evening, here's the view from the Commodore Club
  17. If I thought I could get away with it, I buy one In a heartbeat, but Jane would only roll her eyes at me if I did
  18. We've really got a move on overnight, the Navigation screen on the TV is showing us somewhere south of the Bay of Bengal - A quick look out of the balcony shows that it isn't the case, it's a bit chilly and murky off the French coast at Brest.
  19. I shall post about our current QV cruise here. It was nice to get back on board and head off to what is hopefully a nice warm Mediterranean cruise out to the Greek Islands and back - Embarkations today was uneventful unlike Roy's biblical QM2 exploits. We were through security and on board in less than an hour, all very boring. I'll also be updating my blog (hopefully daily) which can be found at https://blog.rakkor.uk
  20. It's really weird, I'm sure on our recent "booze cruise" I had a download icon in the pdf viewer for the Daily Programme, and downloaded one of the pdf's to my laptop. Today, for the life of me, I cannot see how to do it and I've searched for the pdf on my laptop and can't find that anywhere. I'm either losing the plot or I've dreamt it all! I've noticed I can grab the image for each page - 6 in total, but that seems like a proper faff to do - Anyway Roy's portable scanner doesn't sound very "old school" to me, just wish I had one to hand.
  21. Hi Roy - How did you download the Daily Program PDF ? I've just looked at myvoyage on QV and can't see the option on any of my devices to download, even though I managed to download one on our last cruise only the other week also on QV?
  22. Glad to see you made it onboard OK Roy, I'm looking forward to following your adventure.
  23. That brochure is from 2020, when we booked the package for our upcoming Greek Islands cruise, I asked for an updated version and that's the version that I was sent. So, be aware it's only an indication of the quality of the wine included and not the actual wines themselves. Last September's wine package on QE differed considerably from those shown.
  24. They are currently on Victoria, or were last week - we saw them on Elizabeth last September.
  25. Jane found a small bottle waiting for us in Southampton last week, so not the only one in the Western Hemisphere I'd expect, although it did vanish so you may be correct!
