  1. Fencing is fantastic fun, but it's a hard workout. Before smashing my pelvis, I'd go for a run before breakfast, have a shower and then head off to the fencing and after that I'd need another shower as I was dripping with sweat.
  2. We had a pre booked Taxi meet us at Terminal D last year to take us into Barcelona post cruise, so yes
  3. We did this last August/September albeit with slightly different ports - Have a look at my blog https://blog.rakkor.uk to see more.
  4. If you're in the Grills I'd be arriving at 12:00.
  5. We always get one of the wine packages - which one, depends on what wines are listed and how flush we are feeling, The Commodore's was always my preference since it offered a bottle of port, which Jane really likes with a cheese course, and could eke that out over a couple of weeks, but that hasn't been there on the last couple of cruises and a dessert wine has taken it's place, Brochure Wine Package Cunard.pdf This is an example from our Mar 22 Fijords Cruise
  6. Yep - Also remind them once you are checked in, that you are Grills so that you are directed to the Grills holding area, last couple of times I was stuck in the Patinum/Diamond area as my boarding pass was marked Priority Boarding - The first time I never noticed until after the Grills passengers had embarked - Last time I realised and raised it, so got shuffled over to the Grills area and embarked with the first tranche
  7. Invariably we never get around to watching any of the films I bring with me, but, they can help pass the time between leaving the Commodore Club at 18:00 and dinner at 20:00 if not on ironing duty, and were invaluable when we were quarantined with Covid in March 22.
  8. There's a USB port on the TVs, stick them on a stick and watch them that way - I don't know how accessible the HDMI ports are.
  9. We did a walking tour in Brooklyn on our turn-round day, and spent a very pleasant day out before returning to the ship - My Blog report from that day
  10. We did it last year as a Barcelona fly cruise - Generally hot, with a couple of days where it bucketed down in parts (Rome & Naples I'm looking at you) (Blog report here} So mainly light Summer stuff as it was never cold but don't forget lightweight waterproofs just in case.
  11. I think that is quite old as Port hasn't been available for a couple of years on the Commodore's package - This a the latest copy I have and even that is a good couple of years old Brochure Wine Package Cunard.pdf As said earlier - It has changed and not for the better, but I will still order it for my next cruise
  12. I'll add that the last couple of cruises (Grills) we've done they haven't started to embark passengers until at least 12:30, and the last one was 13:00 so involved quite a long wait in the terminal.
  13. This is a discussion I had with my Father in Law on a previous cruise when he was shocked at the cost of the wines as part of the Commodore's Wine Package - I pointed out to him that although he could get a bottle of Cloudy Bay in Majestic (a UK Wine Warehouse) for £26 per bottle if he ordered it in Gaucho's (a UK Steakhouse chain) it was £80 on their wine menu, significantly more than £48 we paid on Cunard .Brochure Wine Package Cunard.pdf
  14. Commodore Club Menu from Last Year on QE Commodore _Club.pdf
  15. Jane gets sea sick on a lilo in a pool, but loved our crossing on QM2 which took place in a hurricane force 12 gale (70kt winds) in 2019. The only time she felt ill on that crossing was after overindulging on the Mixology course in the Commodore Club - I had a quick scan through the first 7 days of my Blog of that crossing and apart from it being a bit bumpy, there's no mention of feeling under the weather at all.
  16. Water/Ice and other soft drinks (orange, apple cranberry, iced tea) are available in the Buffet free of charge as well as water in the Gym. There is a water package available, but it's very costly for water. Jane devours water during the night so we tend to bring a number of bottles aboard with us on embarkation and top up on shore days as required. PG and above supply water in the room FOC
  17. Sorry I misread the original - This was the room service menu in PG last year - Same as Britannia The room service breakfast menu was the same as well according to Jane
  18. It used to be FOX, MSNBC, CNBC & BBC World. I can't remember seeing FOX the last time I was on board and I don't remember Bloomberg.
  19. You've never had to buy detergent, it's always been free, previously as tablets, and more recently as loose power, with a measuring scoop. Which are nailed to the wall, so if you are left-handed (like Jane) then they are very difficult to use and she has to call on my ironing expertise to help out.
  20. The Grills Ice Cream fairy was in evidence on QE last summer, and fruit kebabs were distributed about 11am.
  21. surely in that case - pop to the bar and get the drinks you require and take the back to you stateroom
  22. My morning's stroll to the office across London Bridge now coincides with Sunrise
  23. Sorry for that - Firewall issues - Hopefully you can access the link now?
  24. We love these cabins - The forward cabins have metal fronted balconies which may not suit everyone, but they are among the largest balcony cabins on QE - There's a picture of the Balcony on my 2016 QE Cruise - https://blog.rakkor.uk/2016/10/16/october-16th-katakolon/
  25. My blog from last September covers this cruise on QE in PG - https://blog.rakkor.uk if you're interested - I've been very slow in scanning the menus for this cruise, but there are examples of the PG menus in earlier blogs which reflect what you'll get accurately.
