  1. I think you are spot on, as I believe the pax was briefly transferred to the local hospital by ambulance and then later that day flown to Australia. We had to wait a few extra hours in port for the ships doctor and nurse to return.
  2. We had an instance about 12 years ago on a world cruise when a fellow passenger was taken poorly in Papua New Guinea. The patient was flown to Australia (Darwin I think). The doctor told me that it was just as well they had insurance as the flight etc would have cost them 40k. I have no knowledge as to whether this would have been true, but there was no reason to disbelieve him.
  3. I’d take a second outfit as P&O have been known to get it wrong on the CP.
  4. Smart casual is perfect. I normally wear a summer dress if it’s warm or trousers and a nice top if cooler. I’ve always enjoyed the loyalty lunches and the wine generally flows quite well……
  5. Have a great cruise Andy and Michelle. 🛳️⚓️🍷🥂🍺🍸🥃
  6. Ouch. Having recently had quite a lot of dental work, damage to teeth can cost as much as a cruise! Good luck!
  7. I suppose it depends how big the backpack is…..🤣 I can travel much lighter on a warmer cruise as opposed to going somewhere like Norway when every season is likely to be experienced and shoes are quite likely to still be wet the following morning if unlucky with the weather! But I agree with your wife in that the very minimum pairs of shoes “needed” on a cruise is 5 🤣🥾👠🥿👟🩴.
  8. I didn’t get the original email but saw it on social media. No doubt the phone system also crashed at some point 🤣🤣
  9. I managed to book the Limelight for June on Iona. It remains to be seen if it gets cancelled but I understand from elsewhere that P&O are honouring those that managed to book. 🤞
  10. Yes, it’s Ray Quinn. Not the best, but certainly not the worst! Think I’d prefer @kalos on the spoons to be honest.
  11. Yes, I was also successful a short while ago - and payment went thru quickly (altho only wanted one evening in the Limelight). I didn’t get an email (maybe cos booked thru a TA) and sailing early June.
  12. Ditto. I suspect someone has made a big error releasing everything too early!
  13. Sad to hear this news. A great Captain who always interacted with the passengers.
  14. Very interesting report. Thank you.
  15. @indiana123 good luck today! @Beckett poor Ted. Freddie suggests he dives into a something yucky then he might not be taken out again for a few days 🐶🤣. Glad you feeling better tho Jane. The weather is looking more optimistic in the south for the next week or so, but I note it has now just started to drizzle….. Have a good day everyone.
  16. Welcome to the CC forum. Are you a dog Mama? I have a crazy cockapoo!
  17. @grapau27 I hope all goes well - I’m sure you are always glad to get it over with.
  18. I drive a Jazz and also love it. I particularly like the magic rear seats that fold down to give a huge boot area (especially useful with a dog OR when going to the dump). If I wanted to replace my current model like for like, I see it has gone up 10k since I bought my last one 5 years ago. 🙄
  19. Oh dear, but thank goodness it is benign. 😘 Gx
  20. Good morning all. Still very windy here, but not as bad as some parts of the country so I hope everyone is ok. It'll be a blustery walk with Freddie this morning so will keep him on the lead. @Beckett - I hope you are continuing to feel better and that Ted is looking after you by keeping his energy up with being given lots of treats and staying indoors 🤣🐶 @Purdey16 - have a lovely holiday and I’m not at all jealous of the blue skies!!
  21. Thank you for that very interesting post @twotravellersLondon. I’d personally never heard of PEI, but I found it most informative.
  22. @Beckett - so pleased you are starting to feel better and being able to wash your hair will make you feel SO much better. I don’t think there’s anyone less “me me me” on this forum Jane, as you are one of the most sympathetic and empathetic posters with your kind words and good advice. Take care. Gill x
  23. Oh goodness Jane, that sounds very nasty, but it can so easily happen. Thank goodness you are ok. Im not usually awake at 3am, but couldn’t sleep (no reason) and so saw your post. Please take it easy over the next few days- Ted won’t mind not having a walk - he will just want to be with you, as your accident will have scared him too. Big hugs Gill x
