  1. @Britboys what a lovely photo. The warmth and love between you both shines through. Thank you for sharing something so precious. Gill x
  2. Oh no. Sorry to hear that news. Enjoy your coffee and catch up with your friend and I suggest a rather large piece of cake. 😘
  3. I’ve also just woken to the sad news of Paul O Grady…… he will be missed on TV for sure and he would always make me laugh and cry in equal measures with his fabulous turn of phrase. Battersea Dogs Home will certainly miss him. @brian1- very pleased to hear your foot is a bit better. Freddie dog suggests you don’t let on it’s better, else the treats will stop! 🐶
  4. I don’t change my clocks until the morning as I don’t want the dog to see the correct time……🐶
  5. Crikey- that’s not good is it……Feel very sorry for passengers in those cabins.
  6. So sorry to hear about your Dad, Purdey. I wonder what excuse the people with your suitcase will come up with for not returning it. I expect they dumped the case and then went out on the razz without unpacking.
  7. Sorry to hear your foot is so painful Brian. Freddie (dog with sore paws) says you obviously haven’t had enough treats as they really really help 🐶🐶 I hope you feel better soon.
  8. Oh goodness Kalos, that did make me laugh……I used to have a budgie and I had a mental image!!
  9. It’s part of my morning routine reading these boards with my first cuppa…… glad to see it’s now back. Wet and windy overnight, but sunny now. Dog has sore paws and vet says no walks for a few days. He’s not happy! Gill x
  10. I chose a cabin as near to the mid ships on C deck when in a standard balcony cabin on Aurora and always chose a cabin between the forward and aft lifts as can feel the motion of the ocean at times. I am also a solo traveller and have always found these cabins lovely.
  11. Well done Jane. 👏 You are doing so well…… 🏆 A packet of cigarettes is very expensive - I had no idea the cost had escalated so much.
  12. I agree Harry. I love Google maps for my car journeys. I always have it on for a longer journey even if I know the way as I can see then see the dreaded red line, indicating that traffic ahead is at a standstill, and it will then hopefully divert me if there’s a quicker way.
  13. My uncle fought there (on the British side!). Always said it was an horrific experience.
  14. @grapau27Happy Birthday to Pauline. I hope she has a happy and healthy year ahead. Gill x
  15. I agree…… If I return to the cabin after 1030pm I wouldn’t dream of putting things away and disturb my neighbours.
  16. Oh no. Not the best start to the day……. Suggest you both snuggle up on the sofa and maybe watch Crufts! Gill x
  17. Not sure what happens now, but a few years back on Aurora I had several cruises over Easter and I don’t recall Easter Egg hunts taking place, altho the kids clubs may do something. What I do recall is the absolutely delicious hot cross buns that had been made overnight and served at breakfast in the MDR…….
  18. @Adawn47 Oh dear. Any pain in the night is not pleasant as it always seems worse then and brain races too! Hoping it improves soon and feels less sore this morning. Best wishes to you and Frank as you have both had a rough few weeks. Gill x
  19. @Beckett So sorry to hear Teddy was feeling unwell in the night. Hope he is ok now? Freddie woke me at 3am to go out in the garden, but at that time of the night I just stand at the door and shine a torch on him as he does what he needs too……🤣
  20. Made an ass of yourself on that occasion then, Brian…..🤣🐴
  21. Good morning. We had snow on the grass earlier, but it has gone now and just heavy rain/sleet coming down. Just taken Freddie for a walk and it was very muddy underfoot - just as well he is having a groom tomorrow! Stay safe everyone - especially if you are in the snowy parts. Gill
