P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
Angel57 replied to Host Sharon's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
So sorry to hear that news. Think you are probably wise cancelling Aurora in July - hopefully you can transfer the deposit to another Aurora cruise for next year. Ventura in September will be great to look forward to whilst you are recuperating. Take care. Gill -

I quite enjoy the clocks going forward as the dog doesn’t wake me until 7am, as opposed to 6am at the moment! 🐶😜 Glad you had a fab holiday Michelle. Gill x -
Me too also. Going on her in a few months time, and can’t wait!

Absolutely…….👏 -
Sadly, in my opinion ( and I appreciate many will disagree) allowing shorts, albeit “tailored” ones on informal nights in the MDR, is a very slippery slope. However, I am not at all surprised at this.

@grapau27 it doesn’t get any easier does it….. ? My Dad has been dead 44 years and it still hurts….. Take care. x -
That all sounds perfectly sensible to me. 🤣 👠🥿🩴👡

On a 2 week cruise from Southampton I usually take 8 or 9 pairs of shoes…… 🤣

I am sure you will have a wonderful time. First cruises are usually very special, so enjoy every moment. Let us know how it all goes.

And that’s the beauty of all the different cruise lines - you can check dress codes before booking and chose accordingly as to what best suits your pocket and your sense of style….😜

Just back from a quick supermarket shop. Almost everything was in stock including cucumbers (albeit limited to 3). The only item I couldn’t get was a swede! -
Spot on! But think you have to be Baltic or Ligurian tho as so many are now Caribbean!
-
I have done two Aurora cruises in C deck inside cabins, which were perfectly ok. But, my next cruise is in a balcony cabin as I would not want to take the outside chance of being quarantined in one without a window/balcony. Maybe others think the same, which is why they not selling?

I agree. It’s very unusual for prices to be low on her.

Sadly, that is what is exactly what is happening everywhere….😢 -

Ha ha. My friend has a German car and the sat nav lady is very strict and she finds herself apologising if she doesn’t follow the instructions given….. I seem to recall the words “turn right NOW” being repeated quite often!! -
Not sure if I’ve been lucky, but on cruises from Southampton on Aurora, Arcadia and Azura I’ve always had boarding times of between 1230 and 1330 at Caribbean level….

That was it….. Capital Radio was in that block at one point (no idea if it still is). Loved my time at D&J altho some of the buyers were dragons! -

I went to the college at Leicester Square too on day release for 2 years whilst working at D&J….. worked in quite a few departments and then the stint in the buying office finished me off! 🤣 x -

In 1978 I started as a trainee buyer at the department store Dickens and Jones in Regent St. I was initially paid £28 weekly which I think equated to £1500 pa. I also gave my mum housekeeping - altho I don’t think she took anything off me for the first few months. My first purchase was a very sensible winter coat for my train travel into London. That job only lasted 2 years tho and I then moved into cement!! 🤣 -

Aurora is my favourite ship…….Enjoy your cruise on her. Gill x -
Stugeron is excellent as is Avomine or Phenargen. The doctor on board told me these tablets all work better as a preventative as opposed to a cure, so take before leaving port. I actually always start mine the night before a cruise to get it into my system.

I’ve found that the earlier my case goes thru that hole (I.e. before say 1215), the later it turns up. My thoughts are that the slightly later arriving cases get piled on top of the very early ones - but I could be completely wrong…..
