  1. I’ve found that the earlier my case goes thru that hole (I.e. before say 1215), the later it turns up. My thoughts are that the slightly later arriving cases get piled on top of the very early ones - but I could be completely wrong…..
  2. @purplesea and @Eglesbrech I hope you both feel better soon. x
  3. Been absolutely glorious here in Dorset today with blue skies and sunshine. I had my windows and patio doors open for several hours to give the house a good airing and it made a nice change to walk the dog in sunshine! Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend.
  4. Have a wonderful holiday @Interestedcruisefan. Good luck with the accounts too during the flight but be careful of drinks etc as there’s always turbulence when cups/glasses are full and a laptop is nearby!
  5. I’m probably going to be shot down in flames here because whereas I agree with most of what you say, I do think that if a venue has a notice up saying that formal wear is required after 6pm then those rules should be upheld (with a certain discretion of say 30 mins to allow for drinks to be finished). I think the waiter was wrong to say you could order yet more drinks whilst not dressed as per the rules…… My personal opinion is one formal night a week is more than sufficient and if they have dress codes in a specific bar or MDR, then either enforce them or abandon them altogether….
  6. I think it depends on what you want. If you don’t like flying, then cruising there and back is ideal. If you don’t like a run of sea-days, then flying is the best option. Personally, and if you are not time limited, I think cruising there and back is fabulous as I love the relaxing days at sea, chatting to others, reading, snoozing on deck etc etc. I’ve done this journey from Southampton 6 or 7 times pre Covid and had all weathers and sea conditions. That part is pot luck! I’m sure you’ll enjoy whatever chose.
  7. I have my gorgeous Valentine right here….. Wishing everyone a great day. Gill x
  8. @yorkshirephilHappy Birthday…. I hope the sun is shining for you. Gill x
  9. Personally I wouldn’t hold your breath over that one. I agree with Selbourne that generally P&O will sometimes allow a small group to board together and possibly go to the Embarkation lunch together - but receiving other perks of suite passengers or higher tiers are not usual. Please let us know what happens tho!
  10. The buffet on Aurora was originally called The Orangery (going back several years now) before it was renamed Horizon after a refit.
  11. Absolutely my favourite too. I just feel like I’m home when sailing on her. Returning to cruising on her in a few months time.
  12. I was on a Strictly cruise a few years ago on Aurora and Craig was very pleasant and very chatty with passengers. Ian Waite was also on and very pleasant.
  13. I do agree. However, I used to love popping into the MDR about 4pm if I’d been out on tour and had missed lunch. To have a nice cuppa, a crumpet and or a sandwich in a calmer environment to the buffet, just hit the spot. But that would have been the only time I went. The full afternoon tea was/is in my opinion, only do-able if on second sitting - which most of the time I was not - so a light dinner followed if I’d been a tad greedy! x
  14. They have done in the past. I’m pretty sure they had celebrations for the jubilee last year and they certainly did when Will and Kate married as I was on Aurora at the time. However these days, you can never be sure of anything 🤣
  15. I never realised I had a QR reader on my Samsung (it’s in the drop down notifications menu of quick settings). I’ve only ever used a QR code with the NHS app and/or camera. You learn something every day!
  16. Far far lower than if at the surgery…. The upper level can go to 200 ain’t front of a white coat. 140 at home!
  17. Ditto. I also bought the BP wrist monitor that you mentioned a while ago which is much better than the arm cuff.
  18. @indiana123what a dreadful state of affairs. I hope the private consultation means the scans you require are not too long a wait. But, it shouldn’t have to be like that. Take care. Gill x
  19. @Peanut006 Many many congratulations to your family on the safe arrival of Peaches Penelope……. What a wonderful moment for you all…… Gill x
  20. Happy Anniversary to you and Frank. Have a fabulous day and hopefully you are being spoilt and not cooking the celebratory dinner tonight…… Gill x
  21. Absolutely. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable if they prefer to wear a mask in certain situations.
  22. Happy Birthday @purplesea - I hope you have celebrations planned. x
  23. Sorry to hear that Mick…..Hope you enjoyed the cruise tho.
  24. Basically, it’s trial and error. I would first decide on for type (wet, dry, raw or home cooked) and then maybe use just one protein that isn’t known to cause allergies (maybe avoid chicken). If that suits then move onto another protein. A complete minefield and every dog owner will give you different advice 🤣
