  1. I suspect Verifly automatically kicks out unboosted people regardless of age. It's hard to build process into apps and keep the apps up to date when requires can change rapidly.
  2. Actually you can take the big bottles in the cabin. Yes, they will charge you, but they will also credit the sale, the same as if you pick up at any bar. But no double dipping.
  3. The question in your original post specifically asks about " I wonder if CCL will amend the Europe sailings again to require this age group to get the booster... ". But since you asked - if your cruise stops in Ireland - like Dublin - you will have a port stop in the EU.
  4. Carnival's alcohol policy is no different in Europe than the US. Enforcement, or lack thereof, is the only difference. Generally yes, you can carry on, but there are no guarantees. In numerous European cruises on Carnival, I only recall seeing a liquor collection table once. Carnival used to limit sales of Cheers to cruises where there was at least one non-EU port stop to avoid having to collect VAT on the sales. Don't know if they still do, but VAT can be a significant burden and would apply to just about everything on the ship except for shore excursions which already have it built in.
  5. Carnival has no control over what the EU may or may not require, but testing isn't going away and what if you become positive before the cruise. Best to take all precautions including vaccinations, masks, etc., unless you want your vacation to be spent looking out of a window in quarantine.
  6. As Bolt will also be on Celebration and Jubilee, I think it is here for a while and they do sell out. We enjoyed it on Mardi Gras and look forward to riding it again. My time is too valuable to analyze everything down to the penny. It will get old soon enough. Did I have fun? Hell yes. And should they remove the ride(s), I will certainly have gotten my share. No regrets.
  7. The Visas are an issue. I also suspect there is more covid on the ships which also lead to some staff shortages. Cases are rising on land.
  8. Perhaps to you. Welcome to Fantasy Island for others. Or Camelot
  9. Cruise lines, all of them, sell illusions. It is what they have always done.
  10. You get that with Motel 6 or the Ritz.
  11. The color of the card matters to the entitled.
  12. You're welcome. One more correction- Carnival wants cruisers who cruise for the brand, not cruisers who cruise for perks. The color of the card doesn't matter, although Carnival has always has had novice cruisers as a target market.
  13. The program has always been subject to change, with or without notice, reason, or blessings from special individuals. It is the same with any marketing/loyalty program. Airlines do it all the time. Carnival even puts in the terms and conditions that people should read them on a regular basis, but does anyone? CCL reserves the right to alter or modify the Club at any time in CCL’s sole discretion without notice to Members, including without limitation, the right to add, modify, delete or otherwise change any provision of the Terms and Conditions or any aspect of the Club, including without limitation, any procedure, the Levels, the number of VIFP Points required for any Level, the method of earning VIFP Points, and the Benefits, each as defined below. CCL further reserves the right to terminate the Club at any time without notice to Members. Since any changes will be posted on this page, Members should check this page regularly. Continued membership in the Club following any changes to these Terms and Conditions constitutes acceptance of such changes.
  14. The alligator beignets had no discernible alligator and were a wannabe hushpuppy. Nothing bad about them if you need to kill some time.
  15. The escargot is pretty good, not at all slimy. Sadly they don't serve in the proper dish these days, but I imagine those were harder to clean and not useful for too many dishes.
  16. Better? About I can do with a phone camera
  17. Quite a stretch to try to scrap testing. You can forget that. The covid protocols have been subject to change (and have changed) over time and this has been in place for some time. Anyone who books a cruise should expect changes before the sail date.
  18. The drive on I45 and anticipation of construction was more stressful than anything encountered on the cruise. I found the Express Parking lot to be a good option for us - for the most part. It is adjacent to Terminal 2 and a very easy walk. Our cruise left from Terminal 2 but returned to Terminal 1. We found a sympathetic porter to haul all our crap from Terminal 1 to our vehicle even though he wasn't supposed to - there was a Royal ship at Terminal 2 and I guess he had to cross competing turf to get us there. The parking cost more, but I think I'd do it again. Worst case I would have had to pick up the vehicle and drive back to Terminal 1 to pick up luggage after the cruise. I managed to find this before our cruise, but don't seem to be able to get there again - maybe they are updating
  19. Changes are just that. Not all are cutbacks, despite the word being tossed around. Many are improvements. There was a time when there were no Cucinas, no comedy clubs, no Cheers, no this or that. This is a temporary change. If people want to try other lines they should. No drama required.
