  1. Carnival has something like a $30 million deductible if they even still have insurance against loss of ship. Carnival is self-insured against loss of use.
  2. No but their ships walk on water
  3. Considering Freedom is likely collateral for part of the loans, the ship will be fixed.
  4. You can get hot water on Lido and have your own tea party!
  5. Freedom launched in 2007. I was on the Inaugural.
  6. They have to get final payment sooner rather than later, because so many people cancel at final payment (or don't make it), and Carnival has to have time to resell the cabin. The same reason Carnival requires prepayment for shore excursions and these days specialty restaurants. You can CALL Carnival and ask for an extension, but they aren't going to give you 60 days - maybe 2 weeks. Carnival could cancel immediately and keep any penalty. If you have a desirable assigned cabin, they could switch you to a guarantee and resell your former cabin. Really they can do anything they want - if you don't pay on time you have violated the contract.
  7. Likely the problem. Not the Indian food, but not doing anything different. Lots of people make the same comment. What was good enough in the past isn't as effective against the current variety of covid.
  8. That is specific to testing at embarkation. If you have had no contact with the person, you don't qualify as a close contact. But I might verify with Carnival and ask how to proceed.
  9. I think you will be okay but might have some explaining to do. If cuz is going to be a no show, that might be easiest.
  10. No. Pizza is now $6, for example.
  11. So how long is Freedom going to be out to lunch?
  12. If available, you can pre-book under specialty restaurants, but for the near future, Chef's Table is suspended.
  13. Not this year. The pandemic sets the schedule.
  14. I know Carnival just officially announced it, but I have been seeing on some Carnival ships since cruising restarted. This is from Carnival Horizon last July:
  15. I think 3 times in our recent Dream cruise, but I only went to one
  16. I could be wrong as the change was/is temporary, but I wouldn't plan on it.
  17. Get PO Box. Let the mail overflow. They have to hold it. Don't want mail delivered to your home? Don't have a mail box. Problem solved. They will still deliver packages.
  18. Most Carnival ships don't have a Cucina anyway.
  19. Carnival has multiple addresses stored for cruisers. One is associated with your profile and you can change. Another is stored with cruise reservations and only Carnival can change. It's a poor design but oh well.
  20. Vaccinated guests traveling on back-to-back cruises may need to be tested in between voyages. <- straight from Carnival's covid policy page. and what poppycock. I have never seen where Carnival charged for testing on b2b.
