  1. Who knows. Christian is a floater who was schedule to start on Freedom in a few days. Maybe they brought him in early to train a little on Horizon. Donkey is scheduled for Mardi Gras in September and was going to leave Horizon next month anyway.
  2. Aren't masks and other precautions taken at testing locations?
  3. Probably from someone on the ship. I see Princess is now requiring masks indoors on Northbound and Southbound Alaska cruises.
  4. I don't recall any issue with the air on our Horizon cruise last July. I do like that on this class of ship and new is that individual cabins have their own air conditioner. The thermostats should have a "turbo" button - forget what they call it, but if you press it, it should kick in overdrive. It will only stay in that mode for a few minutes, but you can keep pressing it until your room cools off.
  5. The ship does have an Alchemy Bar. Order a cocktail to take to dinner. Problem solved.
  6. I don't see them open for November, so might be a while.
  7. Dream has a non-smoking annex casino a deck down from the main casino (which also has a non-smoking section). The casino bar on Vista was removed although there are still bar servers. For me, Dream wins hands down.
  8. Yep. I think for sure anyone in quarantine will not be disembarking with the rest of the group.
  9. Does Seafood Shack offer Charbroiled oysters or similar? Last Time I was on Glory they were listed on the menu board.
  10. Dr Google says smell/taste should return within 6 weeks, but could last for months. It depends on what Covid damaged. Another good question for the doc.
  11. Europe and British Isle requirements can change independently from the US and Carnival has no control over that. I would do an antigen test in a couple of weeks and if they are negative, plan on doing that instead of PCR for the cruise, if allowed. In general, a document of recovery includes both a documented positive test and a letter from a doctor indicating you are cleared for travel.
  12. Telemed with a doctor could work. A document of recovery is document from a doctor saying it is okay for you to travel, go on a cruise, whatever. She should have experience with that. A home test, if proctored and documented should also be okay, but not an unmonitored test. It could subject you to delay and questions at embarkation. Since you are vaccinated, I would take a self-antigen test a few weeks before the next cruise to verify negative, and then again within the cruise testing window. The PCR tests could show a false positive. If the antigen test says you are positive, you almost certainly are. Since this may start a spirited discussion, ask your doctor during your appointment.
  13. Let your TA do their job and sit on hold with Carnival to ask about the discrepancy. Personally I would pick the excursion that is most important to me and arrange any others once on the ship. Things might still go south, but you will have the best information available.
  14. I would always have the paper. A cell phone could be lost, stolen, or break.
  15. I see you can still book Freedom cruises beginning June 11th - that gives them only about a week to finish whatever they are going to for now.
  16. Then it probably won't be. They are kind of anemic, I am told.
  17. I plan on doing if offered and I can get tickets. I periodically check, but since our cruise is over a year out, I can probably wait longer between checks.
  18. Keeps the stern from taking off under extreme speed. 🤣
  19. I think they have to consider them for sailings from California - not that they have to grant any.
  20. For "U.S. Atlantic and Gulf home ports, " - which would not include California or Washington.
