  1. plus service charges, if applicable 🙂
  2. How about gamblers vs gamblers? I think it is absurd for mass market cruise lines to kowtow to any special interest group. Are you still reading?
  3. Or when they try to sell the idea that they earned their free cabins
  4. The smoke continues by how much gamblers allegedly spend in the casino. Of course, spend does not mean lose. Many post pictures of their jackpot. Of course some lose. Some win. Many don't play much at all. As if normal cruisers who pay for their cabins never enter the casino and spend plenty, pay for their drinks, specialty dining, etc.
  5. I don't think you need to change anything other than don't book under an existing VIFP number and the system will automatically generate a new one for you. It is not unheard of for people to have to call Carnival to merge accounts when it happens.
  6. Carnival makes an improvement to the program and some gripe about it anyway. Shocking. For the gamblers with a million cruises, what stops them from creating an new account/VIFP number and starting over from 0? It shouldn't take long to recapture any staus.
  7. I would tend to agree with that.
  8. I meant it as those who celebrated many anniversaries of their birth, but are still kicking.
  9. I'm pretty sure Oceania has made cutbacks and people complain about anything or nothing. Those who switch now will never know how good it was in the good old days.
  10. That would be Carnival ex-pats and I believe they are pleased, even if the sidewalks roll up at 9pm.
  11. It's relative. Did Princess change or did some passengers mature (cough) out of the Princess market?
  12. In the US service industry and on most cruise lines, tips are part of the person's Compensation. Idiotic or not.
  13. What misinformation?
  14. That makes no sense to me, but if you believe it....
  15. Cruise ships could sail for many decades, but almost certainly won't be replaced with the same. It wouldn't be cost effective.
  16. I think there is more in common than different. You should read John's page sometime.
  17. I might say they are trying to please the customer.
  18. True. There is only one ticket contract.
  19. I am not aware of Princess stating that, but other cruise lines have said. But that's a good question. Is there an official Princess page where the question might be asked?
  20. It various by person and how much you order, but we might tip $2 to $5. There isn't a defined number, but something.
  21. I don't doubt that individual ships have some discretion within limits. I'm not sure it has anything to do with competition.
  22. I don't know about the ice cream, but I was pleasantly surprised with my last RS order. It did take forever to be delivered, but then they did have to pick up my appetizer from Sabatini's, my steak from the steakhouse, and a couple of cocktails from a bar. The hot food was still reasonably warm
