  1. The national express leaves from near terminal three. You can just buy your tickets when you arrive, it works very well.
  2. Love the photo of “baby” miss Camilla! I echo Roy, hoping we can see baby Murphy growing too. @Cruzin Terri hope things settle down for you, take the time you need so a cruise is fun and welcome. I have at times had to postpone trips, and it is almost always better later when things are settled. @Oceansaway17 we have used the national express buses from Heathrow with good luck. Do check if the times are flexible before booking, with all the airline delays it might be easier to just buy when you are there. @rafinmdmy mom used lifeline, but when she fell it didn’t call and she laid there overnight, so perhaps one that dies the fall detection. A few lighthouses.
  3. Late to the party, I’ll catch up soon! We have spent a lot of time on Crete, Heraklion is not our favourite but recommend visiting Aghios Nikolas, it has a town on a lake as well as the sea. Elounda and Plaka are also interesting, you can visit the island of Spinalonga where there was a leper colony during the war. And of course Knossos. And the ancient Malia Palace…..
  4. We have had both great and terrible experiences in Heathrow. The problem we had in Narita was getting luggage. Took around an hour and we were business class. So YMMV. Plan for the worst. Hope for the best is my motto
  5. Good morning. Although I was very unsure about visiting Hiroshima, it was an amazing place. Highly recommend a visit to this eye opening and truly awesome city. so much in light of its history to experience We spent two nights there at the beginning of our trip to Japan.
  6. We’re camping so will try for Hakodate. Cell service is iffy. If you visit see the fortress and have crab. It was wonderful Hope all goes well for everyone
  7. Happy retirement @Mr. Boston southern Italy is beautiful. We spent several days there and stayed in a trulli
  8. Sending good thoughts to @ger_77 and her DH. official happy birthday @lazey1!
  9. @Quartzsite Cruiser hoping the improvement lasts and you get the information you need for long term gain! @smitty34877 sorry you had such a long day too! Praying things improve soon! @RMLincoln glad things are going in the right direction! @kochleffel love the prayer and the engineer story! @lazey1 happy birthday tomorrow! DH and I were just discussing how we don’t feel our age but…. As we think about buying another RV dear garden club, just discovered we have some fire blight in our neighborhood which we don’t usually have to worry about. Called the arborist, so hoping we don’t lose any of our beautiful mature trees. It has been so hot this summer that we are getting this. hope all can get some rest!
  10. Prayers for baby Murphy, jazzy and Sam! And all others on the list! So glad to hear Ivan is showing improvement. We just checked our credit reports, something I’ve never done and discovered someone has changed our address to a post office box in another province. So now to sort that out!
  11. White rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit! Thanks and good wishes to all today! @smitty34877 glad the chemo went well @ger_77 so glad you got a cancelation for dh @Cruising-along love that mountain, my last aunt can see it from her home. @RMLincoln prayers all goes well @Seasick Sailor sorry for your news! sunse last night and some of my favourite mountains!
  12. @cruisemom42 good advice as it can and does happen to anyone. Our ship actually brought on a pickpocket expert and did it on the main stage. He was able to take watches, belts, and even eyeglasses! They are pros. Our hotel in Barcelona gave us a list of the current scams. DH fell victim in Sicily but he wouldn’t let go of the pickpocket and even got his throwaway back. We carry a throwaway wallet with about 20 euros for easy access and everything else under our clothes in moneybelts. DH loves the one that attaches to a belt. There also the old bra stash of cash and credit 😂🤷‍♀️😉
  13. Thanks all., prayers for baby Murphy! @RMLincoln glad you got a reasonable time! a couple of suggestions for avocado!
  14. Ooh, that would be ever so much fun! 😂
  15. Good morning and thanks all! @Vict0riann glad you’re ready to go, and that they are protecting the whales. DS saw a humpback last week off one of the Gulf islands and it’s always interesting to wonder if some of these fellows are the same ones we see in Hawaii. @kazu I am hoping dear Ivan can settle comfortably. Hoping your dear friends husband reacts well to those meds! Aomori is a beautiful port with access to Hirosaki castle and some of the most beautiful cherry blossoms if you’re there at the right time.
  16. When we visited that area with our then teens, they enjoyed Aix en Provence. It’s a beautiful town, with lovely fountains and a good market. Nearby Les Baux de Provence is also a wonderfully evocative site. If in Cassis you are doing a boat trip of the calanques with a chance to swim that would be awesome. I have not visited Marseille so cannot comment on that.
  17. Good morning and thanks all! Prefer my chocolate dark too! I’m with Gerry about white, what’s the point? @Heartgrove great job on the colour! @rafinmd excited for your future adventures! @durangoscots I am sorry for your sad news! @Cruzin Terri sorry you have had such issues on your trip and return. Life sure has thrown many of us curve balls. This week DH lost his cousin, and dear former neighbours lost their daughter far too young. Thankfully, nature is beautiful with more wildflowers are in bloom. Blazing star.
  18. Happy birthday Superoma! Love Cora’s breakfasts, the fruit!
  19. Wondering if we’ll hear from the OP? Lots of good ideas here.
  20. It’s a great book! Oh Annie, I am just So sorry! Cancer makes you face horrendous choices. Wishing you the best as you navigate this disease.
  21. It’s a long way and if you have any delays you are toast. Narita to Yokohama is a long way and you have to clear customs. It took us well over an hour and we were flying business class. YMMV so even if all things go right and you land at 4:20 and clear customs by 5:20 you likely wouldn't arrive until 6:30. So literally no margin for error. If you must do it, prepare a plan b to get to the next port by train. Haneda is much closer if that’s an option.
  22. We are from Canada and did the form online, I don’t recall what system. I see the US embassy has information on how to do it. Some information from them: Decisions on which medications or prescription drugs can be brought into Japan are made solely by the Japanese Government and subject to control under Japan’s Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. Many common medications and over-the-counter drugs in the United States are illegal in Japan. It does not matter if you have a valid U.S. prescription for a medicine/drug which is illegal in Japan: if you bring it with you, you risk arrest and detention by the Japanese authorities. The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Japan do not maintain a comprehensive list of prohibited medications or ingredients. Comprehensive information is available only from the Japanese government and is subject to change without notice. All travelers are encouraged to check before traveling to Japan at Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW) website, including reviewing FAQ , or to email yakkan@mhlw.go.jp. Travelers who need to bring more than the MLHW’s approved quantity of medication or medical devices should obtain a “Yunyu Kakunin-sho” (importation certificate) prior to travelling, and present it with the prescription to a customs officer upon arrival in Japan. Certificate approval by the Japanese government may take several weeks to process and should be received before bringing the medication or medical devices to Japan. All travelers entering Japan with a prescription medication, including medication that is not restricted in Japan, should consider bringing a copy of their doctor’s prescription as well as a letter stating the purpose of the drug. For more information about bringing medicines into Japan and how to obtain a “Yunyu Kakunin-sho” certificate, please visit the website of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and email yakkan@mhlw.go.jp. When you make your email inquiry to yakkan@mhlw.go.jp, please include the following information: The drug’s active ingredients The name of the medicine The dosage and quantity Your e-mail address
  23. Thanks for your encouragement! I tried again and it went through, now to try and add the credit. Is it good for just one cruise?
  24. Hirosaki Castle near Aomori had the most spectacular cherry blossoms of our trip. So if your trip is in the spring I wouldn’t miss it. We visited Kinosaki onsen and it was great but did that outside the cruise. It is a very small town with several onsen you can visit along with a private one in our hotel. Hirosaki
