  1. Last cruise the in our cabin were thinner than the toilet paper. You needed at least two to not blow a hole through them. I think it's a preventive measure just in case you do flush them.
  2. That's really close. I wouldn't hesitate to do short cruises at all. We have about a 2 hour drive to get to Ft Lauderdale so we always do B2B 10 day trips and it's as much as our waistlines will take before we have to return home for a diet. We did a round trip through the canal a few years ago to Los Angeles (30 days) and gained so much weight I almost had to buy extra clothing to make it home.
  3. We pretty much stick with the Caribbean as it's easy to get to Ft Lauderdale. We've seen all the ports so many times that the ship is really our destination. Very rarely do we get off the ship unless it's to stretch our legs. Last cruise on the Ruby was 14 years ago. I'm sure many things have changed, especially the dress code but lets not get into that. 😆
  4. Except that on the Enchanted, the center toggle will not let you switch to HDMI, only USB. Whether or not a universal would allow it is still undetermined. I really like to use my Roku which only has HDMI since it's remote has an earphone jack to listen to my movies early mornings without disturbing the husband.
  5. I'm sure we'll cross paths someday. 😄 We were looking at a Nov cruise but the Enchanted doesn't return to the Caribbean from Europe until Dec. We decided to go on the Ruby in Nov. It's an older ship but actually a much cheaper cruise.
  6. Please refresh my memory but does the Ruby have the liquid coffee in the buffet or is made from coffee grinds like on the Royal class ships?
  7. You obviously have put a lot of thought into this and some of your ideas would be welcomed by their loyal passengers. Saying that, Princess is not going to change and abandon profits in this economy anytime soon. Speaking with my TA yesterday, she said that her cruise booking are at a all time high as many people are making up for lost cruises during the Covid shutdown. I foresee even more changes to maximize profits at the cost of losing some of their most loyal customers.
  8. Thanks for the video but I'm still wondering if it might work on the Enchanted. I think they modified their TV's not to work with any input no matter if selected with a universal remote or with the toggle button. I'm waiting to here from someone who tried the universal remote on the Enchanted.
  9. Unless you're extremely fussy we found most of the selections in the DR on the Enchanted to be pretty good. Yes, they've cut back on the cut of beef but on formal nights I doubt if many would complain. We never go to the buffet or specialty restaurants on a formal night since it's always when they have their better dishes.
  10. We've got unopened mini bottles of gin from years back & there all half empty from evaporation. 😄
  11. It's a fair amount for any retired person on a fixed income. We saved all our working careers to be able to cruise a few times a year & don't fee intimidated by those that can afford to tip more generously.
  12. Oh, I know and it's one of the reasons we won't sail on the Grand any longer besides the fact that the ship is getting real old.
  13. We missed out on that trade for OBC but we'll give it a try on our next trip.
  14. I think the OP was thinking about bringing their own insulated to-go cup.
  15. We were on board with a large group & other than a large group arriving in the DR at the same time every night there were no other problems.
  16. As they were making it you should have told the guy to stop once he had the ice cream in the glass. Forget about all the extras on top & it might actually be OK.
  17. It will never happen. People would avoid booking & it would lead to a loss of business.
  18. You do the same as us, returning to the DR after the main show for dessert. There's never a crowd but you have to get there before 9 PM. Occasionally, you'll have cold lobster at the buffet at lunch the day after it's served in the DR, but don't count on it. It's not really very good.
  19. Let me say that we use Rum Runners which gives us practically all we need for a 10 day cruise and we restock up on turnaround day. Mixers are free at the buffet & we keep them in the fridge. Wine is also refillable every turnaround and also at just about every port we stop at as is liquor is needed. We hardly drink as much as you do usually only a glass of wine at dinner & a mixed drink for the show- never 4 or more glasses with a meal or we would be asleep before 9 PM at our age. Sounds like the package was made for you but $1,200 for a 10 day cruise is quite a bit for us.
  20. It all depends on what you want out of a cruise. Myself, I go for the food, entertainment and itinerary. All the rest is considered as extras and I've come to the conclusion I can do without all the things that the packages buys.
  21. It should prove interesting to see how long those concoctions last before they offer something decent. Right now I think people are still just ordering them to find our what there all about.
  22. I'm certain they spent more money on those shows then on past ones but to me their aimed at a younger crowd. We've seen them all a number of times & will skip them on future trips and go for the more relaxed music in one of the lounges.
