  1. Code names just one skulls One night ultimate werewolf don’t mess with Cthulu deluxe
  2. I was on Allure last week and what I found more annoying is that the people without reservations to the first night Aqua Show were allowed to be seated before me who had a reservation and arrived at 10pm for 1030 showing and had to sit in second row They needed to do a better job of crowd control on aqua shows
  3. Imagine that… some caught Covid on a cruise ship.. what a rare occurrence
  4. When I came back from my Oasis sailing in November, I had a headache for 2 hours when I got home When I got back from my Independence sailing in Dec, I had a stuffy nose one night Heading out on Allure on Sunday, I will report back with any illnesses or just a bad bowel movement. Covid is endemic. Its not news when people get covid on ships anymore. Nothing can stop it. Vax and testing requirements do not keep it off ships.
  5. Just curious as to how you make sure aerosolized virus particles never escape a mask you are wearing? Do your masks NEVER have gaps? When you cruise do you mask in the main dining room and have them bring you an IV drip for your nourishment? If you are cruising and dining indoors you are not protecting others by you carelessly removing your mask according to your own logic Your mask is a virtue signal because you believe that healthy people are vectors of disease and the asymptomatic spread of illnesses has been vastly overblown and overstated
  6. It’s called seasonality that has been the virus trend all along during the past 2 years
  7. Unfortunately, not everyone is afforded the luxury to not go to work when they feel the least bit ill or have the sniffles because they cannot afford to miss work. Its not that they dont care about others, its that they care about providing for their family. Not everyone works in a cubicle farm. Not every one has sick days.
  8. And who enforces mask wearing in dark theaters? More staff when there are staff shortages? And what about indoor dining? MDR experience is longer than 20 minutes.
  9. so you ate indoors with 100s of unmasked passengers who were spreading virus into the air you breathed. And you really think that being masked to get more food while you spend the majority of your time unmasked while dining indoors is safe and effective? The minute you saw everyone coughing and hacking, if you were really serious about protecting yourself from Covid, you would have avoided indoor dining and shows. Avoided elevators. And you know in the shows in dark theaters even when there were mask requirements, people were removing their masks because enforcement is not feasible
  10. Yes, I fully agree. Personal Responsibility. 1. if you are at high risk for Covid, cruising may not be the best vacation option right now 2. If you do choose to cruise, maintaining distance from fellow cruisers is more effective than masking. Avoid elevators, avoid indoor dining, avoid indoor shows, be outdoors as much as possible 3. And if masking makes you feel less anxious then go for it.
  11. November was pre-omicron and the seasonality waves of Covid in general. There is a difference between November and now
  12. @kateg Thanks for great review. I am headed out on Allure on June 19. A couple of questions: 1. I am traveling with a 14 year old minor who is a friend of my daughter and have just downloaded the Royal Traveling with a minor child consent form. What other documents did you travel with for those "just in case" moments? 2. Did they have milkshakes to go in Johnny Rockets? Or did you have to dine there to get milkshakes? 3. Wipeout cafe. Did they serve breakfast there? What kind of food did they have for lunch? My understanding is burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and fries. Any grab and go sandwiches? 4. Boardwalk donuts. Did your teens enjoy this? 5. And lastly, did the 17 year olds in your group go to the teen club?
  13. But 100+ people unmasked in a room is exactly what has been happening since restart of cruising. It happens every day in Windjammer AND MDR. 100s of people unmasked indoors.
  14. Other factors: 1. Seasonality of the virus over the last 2 years as data has shown us 2. Higher capacity on cruise ships. More people=more covid cases 3. The expanded availability of home covid tests. There has been more than one story of people self testing on cruise ship and testing positive and reporting which didnt happen before. Especially, and lets be kind here, the more "cautious" among us that take a covid test at the first sign of a sniffle. More test availability=more positive cases being reported. Masks mandates were in place on cruise ships at the height of Omicron and you had ships being turned away from ports because of High Covid case counts.
  15. Yeah, cause nothing says Covid safety like having mask mandates on ships but 1000s of people gather together to dine indoors of course not wearing masks. I have been on 2 cruises since Covid in Nov and Dec of 21 and they were great. Mask mandates were still in place but of course people wore any kind of masks often times below their noses and ineffective cloth masks. But if you truly worry about getting Covid then I would say you should skip cruising all together because there is nothing Royal can do to stop Covid spread on any of their ships
  16. Whats your solution? How do would you keep Covid cases from being on ships?
  17. And I would ask you as well, when they had masking protocols, do you think they were effective when 100s of people dined in closed quarters for hours with no masks?
  18. Covid cases were up on Cruise Ships during Omicron surge WITH Masks required. Correlation and Causation are two different matters. Capacity has been increasing on cruise ships, dont you agree? More people=more covid cases. More spread of respiratory viruses in general. Do you agree that wearing a mask to a table but removing it for hours while dining in a crowded Windjammer or MDR is illogical? According to your logic, how did that stop the spread of covid on cruise ships. Or people who didnt wear masks much at all even though the cruise line required it. Or wore cloth masks, masks below their noses, etc.
  19. And they do have Covid protocols: 1. Vaccinations required 2. Pre board testing required. There are protocols on the ships now.
  20. How would you stop Covid from being on cruise ships? Whats your solution? Even with all the past protocols, it didnt stop Covid from being on cruise ships
