  1. I know airport security is really tough, as they should be, because of all the drug traffic. I’m so used to pier 2. Been here many times. But, a bottle of wine? Anyway, just a heads up.
  2. Never had a problem at Pier 2 (larger terminal), but this is a Saturday, so we had to use Pier 10/11 Aloha Tower. NCL Pride gets Pier 2 today. I should have asked her if she was new, but didn’t. Just more of a heads up for others on this cruise.
  3. Update: The Honolulu WM that was close to Ala Moana shopping center is closed. They moved the location, not really close to the Pier. We went to Ala Moana shopping center to Longs/CVS and an ABC store instead.
  4. Watch out for Honolulu customs at Aloha Tower cruise port, today at pier 10. One bottle of wine and they confiscated it. Really? No PCL alcohol desk. PCL reps told her, you don’t have to confiscate wine, just hard liquor. But, she insisted she had to confiscate and fill out papers. Never seen this before. Also, they require original Gov. Photo ID’s to get back on the ship. No copies. Strict…IMO
  5. The closest, that I know is behind Ala Moana shopping center, about 3 mi? If you’re 20, NP. Lol There is a free shuttle to Hilo Hatties in the shopping mall, which WM is behind that, a few blocks. We may just Uber if we need it or go to ABC in the mall.
  6. No, they are not happy. But, Honolulu Walmart is walkable for the young crew members.
  7. No more walmart free shuttle bus at Hilo port. Walmart stopped the Roberts Hawaii bus. We were here today. Taxi about $10 to get to Walmart. There is a free shuttle to the Marketplace in Hilo town. Not anywhere near Walmart though.
  8. No, only every 30 days you must repeat muster.
  9. Are they starting the lunch Sabatini’s on this cruise for everyone, or just suites? TIA
  10. There was also a Crab Shack pop-up lunch today in a MDR. Extra charge, of course. We also got a paper in our cabin: Dinner at the Horizon Court, nightly specials. Tonite: Japanese Teppanyaki. Nice to plan our dinners. Wish all ships would do this.
  11. No wait. 12-130pm MDR Savoy. It has been held in the MDR on a sea day lunch at least once during our cruises.
  12. Lots of prosciutto, cheese type sandwiches on the Sapphire.
  13. Wilma!! Been there, done that. They’re just trying it again over the heavy travel period coming up..the holidays. These long boarding times are because of “aisle hogs.” Too long to get that aircraft loaded and ready to go! 🤣 It’ll go back to regular boarding again, I’m sure.
  14. The MDR is still the old coffee stuff. The only Lavazza is the Buffet and the IC on the Sapphire.
  15. A lot of waiters were used today for the all popular “Pub Lunch” in the Savoy MDR. Was very good. Again, Alfredos not very busy at lunch time.
  16. Agreed. However, if a ship isn’t full, they are not going to let it go that way. They will have to reduce prices to fill it up, in some cases. But, they could wait until after FP to reduce and fill it up and not allow price refaring after FP. Possible.
  17. Seems counterproductive if they intend to attract younger guests and families, as they may not know far ahead for vacation or time off 1-2 years ahead. May be more beneficial for retired folks. So, no more Drop and Go fares? The fares go up anyway, if they are full ships. Will they continue to do refundable deposits? Interesting concept on PCL’s part.
  18. Nothing in our cabin explaining the charges at all. Luckily, we are aware of it. Many guests, have expressed they did not know. When they call RS, they do tell them, that ice or whatever you order will cost $5. This is on the Sapphire.
  19. Perfect and that’s how it is supposed to work.
  20. We’ll be on our 4th RT LA South Pacific soon. Love this itinerary and love sea days. Go for it. They have a lot of activities to keep you busy…if you want to be busy! 🥴 We’ve also have done Pacific crossings and loved those too. However, those have a Loooong flight home. 😳
