  1. Agree with others, our favorite meal OB. We do it once on every cruise. We usually chose a port day, just before sail a way, or just at sunset leaving the port. Beautiful backdrop and peaceful. Be sure to check the weather ahead. I had to cancel one because rain was forecast and storms for Tahiti tomorrow. You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before the UBD. Enjoy!
  2. We paid $34 per person one way. Purchased it 3 months ago. Uber/Lyft/taxis and private shuttles really vary, depending on the day of the week/time of day and demand. There is a west coast forum on cruise critic that may also be a lot of help to you.
  3. Just spoke to the head waiter and DRO on the Sapphire and the chef’s table has been changed by corporate. It is now Veal or Salmon. No longer lobster or filet. This will be the same fleet wide. So, @DrSch DID hear it correctly. Chef’s will all be preparing the same menu. Royal class $140 PP Other class ships $110 PP. Already rolled out on the Sapphire. SMH
  4. The Royal class ships $140 per person with alcohol. The other class ships $110 per person with alcohol. Per the DRO tonight on the Sapphire Princess.
  5. Another good source is www.whatsinport.com and of course check the cruise critic forum. Once OB, some of the destination specialists will advise about shuttles, while others will not.
  6. I think it’s more of a cost savings tactic. No blue bags, no elite amenities, unless a steward may have some left over. Haven’t seen them much since the restart. Ask your steward, if you like.
  7. So sorry to hear Freda is not well. Prayers that she recovers very soon. Take care Wayne.
  8. Last year it was opened on Dec 19, 22 for 2023 rates.
  9. Since final payment has not been made, I’d check with a PCL CVP and see if there are suites available that they may see, and the TA cannot see. If I were a TA, I’d gladly check every day for a suite sale. Not sure their TA will do that though. JMO
  10. I thought they always told us, that the Bar was NOT included in the tip pool, and therefore, that’s why the 18% is always charged on anything from the bar? So, not true?
  11. So, you did get into Suva? We just left Apia, Samoa and are headed to Suva and Dravuni Is. Captain says we should be clear of cyclone arrival on Nov 16th. Weather is rough?
  12. Sorry to hear you broke your wrist! Did you get the insurance cost back, because it was a medical claim?
  13. We have not cancelled under these conditions… But, if you cancel for medical reasons, that should give you a refund instead of FCC’s. That sounds like what you want. If you use CFAR, then you get FCC’s. At least, that’s what I’ve read on the PVP insurance on the website. If I were in your position, I’d cancel for medical reasons and call my TA/CVP and ask them also. I would cancel once I was very sure that I would not be able to go.
  14. Yes, we always have some substitutions, never had a problem. We substitute for bacon/ham instead of smoked salmon. If he doesn’t like quiche, ask for eggs or an omelette. Just ask, I’ve always gotten what we want. NP. They didn’t bring the salmon anyway, just the bacon that I requested. This was just last week.
  15. Some ships are better than others. They have always been nice, but the food is dropped off and you set it up. Quiche, smoked salmon, fruit, coffee or tea, danish, champagne split, fruit plate. Should be juice also. So, they would receive the card on embarkation that they have an UBB and to call to arrange it with RS and sometimes a letter also. I have given this as a gift too and they loved it! They can tell them if any allergies or if they want substitutes, like bacon instead of salmon, etc. It is per cabin $50, not PP. It is a very nice gift and we’ve enjoyed it just last week on the Sapphire. Our absolute favorite is the UBD. But, that’s $110 per cabin. Food very similar to video, except we did not ask RS delivery to open our champagne.
  16. Nice! We always go early. Maybe I’ll change our strategy. 🤣 So, you arrived about 1 PM, Eastern time?
  17. Away went our priority line to get inside the building for suites/elites. Too bad. I hope they had an elite sitting area after check in. PE used to be the most efficient.
  18. We love Venice and would stay a couple of days there. But, you can easily take a train from Venice to Trieste, about 1 1/2 hour ride on an express route. Also, check your fares into Rome, as there are frequently cheap fares from Rome to Trieste. Not sure about cruise transfers from Venice to Trieste, but I’d check into those also. Your TA/CVP could help check that.
  19. Maybe more guests would fill them out, if the survey wasn’t so long.
  20. If this is Princess, the email is: guestmedical@hagroup.com Try that one.
  21. Could be any time. They usually say by Oct/Nov, but 2 years ago it wad Jan 7th. Hopefully, you’ll hear from them soon. Let us know.
  22. It is mandatory, if you have a beverage package…as you can’t remove it.
  23. We just had 3 on our 15 day Hawaii cruise. Go to your cruise personalizer on the website, click on travel summary, and it will list how many formal nights. Usually, there is a gold:white night on one of the formal nights. Not many dress in white/gold though. We don’t. We had several Hawaiian party themes on the Lido, but any attire goes.
  24. Has your ticket been issued? Sometimes, the EZAir agent will issue the ticket, which was a coach/economy ticket and that will cancel the UG. Watch your reservation on the UA website around or after ticketing to make sure your UG is still appended. There is a way to ticket it, without affecting the UG, but agent must not have known how to do that.
