  1. The FAQ say that their operating hours can change based on ship schedules. We are the only ship and don't arrive until noon but they close at 5. Has anyone experienced them closing later in this situation? I have emailed customer service but have not heard back.
  2. Just a walk up. There will be plenty of space. Ask to be more in the middle of the beach. If you are on the edges, it will be a constant barge of people trying to sell you things or kids asking for money.
  3. Is there no sargassum because they still have the walls up off shore or is there just no sargassum?
  4. It really depends on what your plans are. If you are coming in a couple of days early, I would stay either on the beach or on Las Olas. The Riverside Hotel is on Las Olas with restaurants and shops right out the door. On the beach, I would recommend Lago Mar. Its right on the beach and has the biggest beachfront of all the hotels in Ft Lauderdale. If you are coming in the night before, stay on the 17th Street Causeway. There is a Hilton, and Embassy Suites and a Renaissance there and less than 2 miles from the terminal.
  5. The Getaway is themed to Miami while the Breakaway is themed to NYC. Sunset Bar fits better with the theme similar to Sugarcanes fits better than Shakers.
  6. That is the same “sale” you will see if you go NCL.com right now. They are just mailing out their current promo. Nothing deceptive because this is the same deal you got when you booked through your agent.
  7. But they are Platinum. NCL needs to keep them happy.
  8. I would bet this is the issue. The cabin category they current have is not the same as the one they are seeing the lower price on.
  9. Based on people in this thread, RCCL is only refunding cruises that leave or end in Israel. If you are on a cruise with stops in Israel, you will forfeit your payment if you cancel. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2969659-royal-caribbean-insensitivity-understatement/
  10. Not that you wouldn't know if you were in Haven. Since you only booked in April, the only explanations would be that its not a Haven room or NCL messed up and are charging you the Non Haven rate.
  11. Are you sure you are in the Haven? $20 is the non Haven rate.
  12. I didn't find Black Friday sales to affect the price more than what you will see otherwise. There are three prices that RCCL has for a drink package and they bounce between the three. They will more than likely raise the price to the highest right before Black Friday and drop it to the lowest when the sale starts. The main savings for Black Friday will be shore excursions.
  13. I was looking at a Alaska cruise on the Quantum and went over to the Cruise Tool to see how much the drink package currently is. It listed a Classic and a Premium package. Is this just a Alaska thing? Nevermind: Please delete. The cruise tool is pulling in the Celebrity Edge but showing the Royal Website.
  14. Yep, I don't see that happening. Plus the whole show is that they are waiters/waitresses for the bar that go up and grab the mic and tell stories about the acts that Syd has signed over the years. In the theater, they just become a cover band.
  15. Still very intimate. I do think moving the shows to the theater like people suggest will lose the intimacy that makes the shows great though.
  16. It can happen. On my Oasis cruise in December, we lost total power for about 6 minutes. When the power came back on, you can see and smell smoke outside and we stopped moving for about 30 minutes.
  17. Wow. That is a huge difference in capacity.
  18. Relatively the same size. From the pictures I have seen on the Prima, the seating arrangement on the Prima is less than what you will see on the other ships. There are booths and high top rails as well as tables on other ships. Prima: Getaway: Breakaway:
  19. Its a small venue on the Getaway and was always packed for the shows. We could always get in and stand by the bar until a group got up.
  20. You have been posting on this board about the drink package and the airfare BOGO for a long time so you know what the answer was going to be. It was just another way to complain about NCL's policies.
  21. The big one is specialty dining. They were the first one have paid dining outside of the MDR with the Sky in 1999. They are also the first cruise line to charge for room service.
  22. All the cruise lines have a ton of debt on their books from the shutdown. The mass market lines are cutting expenses so they can get the debt paid. As long as they are saying full, the current status is going to be the new norm.
  23. HAL can get away with including everything in package since everyone on board is asleep by 8pm.
  24. NCL got the Nickel and Dime tag because they were the first to start charging for experiences that were once considered included in the cruise fare. Most of the other mass market cruise lines have since followed along.
