Has anyone been successful in upgrading just one of you? I was able to do this twice this year, but tried today and was told no. Just wondering if it worth it to keep trying? There are 3 of us traveling, so it would be pricey to upgrade all 3 and 2 won’t really benefit.

Thank you for a great trip report. We are also a family of 3 with DD half way into her Masters. We also cherish our family trips. We have cruised Celebrity exclusively for the past several years but have a family Princess cruise on Royal in August. It was not my first choice but fit into her schedule. Your reports of when you went over on Plus were very informative. I feel we will be similar. Best wishes on your future travels with your family.

Please do let us know. We are on Royal in August as it fit the grad school schedule for DD. I am not a fan of the bigger ships so it will be a first for us on this class. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

Do you have any inclination why cruise disembarkation has been so delayed thus far this season?

We are on Royal Princess and have TSA pre check. Is Spot saver a better option then pre check?

We are traveling in August and have a 11:35am return flight on a Saturday. What is the best option from Pier to airport? I am considering switching flights to the red eye due to recent reports, but not a fan.

Please come back and post how your disembarkation went. At least one person on the previous cruise had posted on the roll call that she had an 8:30 shuttle time and was just leaving the ship at 10:30. That will not work for my 11:30 flight. Thanks

Which Saturday did you get off, 5/6 or 5/13? Hope this issue is resolved soon. We have an 11:30am flight in August that is refundable and are considering switching to the red eye that night. I am going to continue to check for a few weeks.

We have always booked cruises with a refundable deposit. However, Celebrity pricing is making us rethink this. We recently booked a Princess cruise a year from now with only $100 pp deposit refundable. A Celebrity cruise 4 months later deposit was over $1300 higher fare then non refundable with a $450 pp deposit. We were on board last week and booked it with $100 pp deposit with the non refundable rate. If we go, we will save quite a bit and not lose a lot if we don’t.

We got off yesterday also. We love the Summit and ease of sailing from Bayonne. We also thought food quality was greatly improved from our Reflection cruise in January. Several items were back on the MDR menus, quality was better and Ocean View looked good for dinner. There was not a carving station that I saw for dinner, but the back grill was open for cook to order with chicken, steak and a fish-salmon or red snapper that I saw. The crew everywhere were super. Wish we had booked the Bermuda cruise following too, but one of us still works.😢

We also have no interest in LPC and loved Qsine. One trip our DD, who was 19 at the time, made it a quest to eat every dessert on the menu. We frequently sail M class and wish we still had Qsine as a specialty option.

I have not been inclined to book an Edge class cruise as we book balcony cabins and do not think we would like the infinite verandas. I do have to admit your dinner in Eden with the crab cake, lobster and lemon dessert have me tempted just for an attempt for that meal. Enjoy your trip. We board Summit next week.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a quick lunch or snack on a Sunday about half way around the island? Last time we did the golf carts, we skipped lunch and were a little peaked by the time we finished. Lots of places I have seen are closed on Sundays. We may have to grab a quick bite on the ship.

We use Corporate Parking and have never had any issues.

Does anyone have current info on restrictions in Miami? I was going to bring bottles diet ginger beer.

Thanks Jim. I know you have said in the past you have had deposits changed from refundable to non refundable prior to final payment. What happens with fare in that instance as the difference in fare is close to $1400? We are considering just booking non refundable for the $100 each and losing it if we cancel before final.

If we book on board for a specific cruise with $100 deposit and months later see a lower fare, does our deposit increase if if refare? This is for a cruise in late 2024, so fare could change with a different sale.

What about diet ginger beer?

When does the ability to book speciality reservation open on the app?

I upgraded my package for an April cruise this past week. I was able to upgrade just myself and definitely got the 15% Elite discount. I was quoted $16.50 per day with gratuity. I think I paid $16.80 in November for a January cruise so I was satisfied.

Sort of off the topic, but upon boarding do I have to go to Crown Grill and Sabatinis to make reservations or is there availability to do both at once somewhere? Also, if we have booked and paid online ahead of time, can I book on board with OBC, then cancel and get refunded? I have read it is a process to go to guest relations first; the reservations get cancelled, then you have to go to the restaurants and hope you can get what you had. We have not cruised with Princess in several years and did not do specialty restaurants. On Celebrity, I can book ahead with OBC. Thanks
