  1. Very few would. That’s why they stopped those stupid rooms after the eurodam. They should be called oceanview in my mind.
  2. Yup definitely one of them. It doesn’t appeal to me anymore today then it did then.
  3. Yeah, let pull out that old nugget about new cruisers spending more. I highly doubt if that’s true anymore. I spend a lot on extras on my cruise such as a cabana as the bigger ticket item. You’d have to buy a lot of shorex, tshirts and photos to add up to the $500 plus for a cabana. Let’s drop that old stereotype. You can see on this thread one never hal cruiser is only interested in cheap cruises. I don’t there will be an onboard spending. As far as not having to keep long time cruises you still need to put in the effort, whether they’ll go elsewhere or not. That’s such a lame comment. I’m sure hal “thinks” they have me in the bag. I have cruised many other lines and I will in the future.
  4. Carnival is available for those that like the cheapie experience.
  5. That sucks about the port. I second I got on the ship I made my reservations. I find if you don't you'll be in trouble.
  6. Unfortunately I seem to forget about Thanksgiving being Canadian but I'm very hemmed in by work commitments. Doesn't leave much wiggle room.
  7. I think it will be better. I think this is just the perfect storm of holidays and not enough staff. There is just such a mood change from March in this ship. Most of the staff just doesn't seem happy. That's coming from somewhere. Completely different from March. Don't get me wrong there is a lot of lovely staff.
  8. It must be that. Everyone seems to have at least 3 kids.
  9. I think I'm going to have the sole tonight. The Lobster has been awesome before. I was really looking forward to a lovely whitefish of some sort. I did have a lovely halibut dinner the first week in club orange. The Nov 12 was supposed to be a culinary cruise. I heard nothing. More promos about the adult coloring books.
  10. I think it's a bit of both. When I mentioned to the person on here that works at the port about the escalator issues and how concerned I was she told me she doesn't work near the escalators. That's not an appropriate response to something that could have caused serious injuries.
  11. It's still a lot better than being at work. It just not an experience that I'm not willing to pay for. I'm out on the balcony right now and I have 2 families literally screaming on each side of me. There is no need to that. They were screaming at Mexican people on shore this morning. This is what a carnival ship is like, not hal. You don't have to act like an animal. I feel terrible for the staff. The cabana guys told me people are ordering pizza through the app and not picking it up causing more than an hour delay. Why act like that?
  12. You should have been in the Lido at around 11:35 yesterday. I got a egg filled bun and a salad. That took at least 20 minutes or more. It was a mass of humanity. I've been told there are 400 kids aboard. I think they were all there. It didn't take any longer to tender in cabo than the week before but we were there at around 9:30. Why they didn't start tendering until 11:10 this week is beyond me. I have no complaints about the food except for the salmon. When they bring all your courses at once in the mdr that not my idea of a lovely dining experience. We are docking tomorrow in puerto. That came from the captain but not to the general population which is just stupid. I heard it through a few reliable sources.
  13. It's the cut in staff or just not having enough staff. I've been to the pinnacle for lunch a couple times. The salmon has always been very nice in there. It was just odd looking the ther day. Like a cheap cut. Same in the mdr. Sel de mer is not cheap. Their "fresh" fish since I got on the ship 10 days ago is salmon. If it's the same as the pinnacle then no thanks. Also in sel they have lobster tail. Lately it's been 2 tails. Not the same. The drinks taste odd on the ship. Not a cutback per say but who is making these things. Hal use to have a standard that every cosmo or caesar drink for example tasted the same. These are first world problems but I don't want to pay high prices for a mediocre cruise. These are a few things I can think of off the bat.
  14. That is crazy. I could see some obscure alcohol but c'mon.
  15. Yes if it's covid isolation that is different. I saw nothing spelling that out in the post I quoted but I guess I missed that. The people on the koningsdam I'm talking about are not in isolation. Speaking of that I'm pretty sure there is a person in the cabanas that has covid. He's coughing and sniffing constantly. I just casually mentioned it to the steward and he's said there have been complaints and one person requested a cabana change. I don't blame them. People are so selfish to expose others ti whatever he has. Edited to say if the person I quoted has covid why would they be allowed to enter the room?
  16. There is no excuse to put trays in the hallway. If you need to nap so bad maybe get food from the Lido or elsewhere. There is a room on the koningsdam on my floor that constantly has food outside their door. They are not quarantined because there was a bunch of people standing in the hallway this morning. It causes issues with people with mobility issues. I've had trays in my room for hours but I don't take baby naps.
  17. So happy for you. Have a wonderful time. I love a balcony.
  18. Agree. The staff has also been somewhat vocal about the cuts and I find they generally aren't so you know it's bad then.
  19. Unless things have changed drastically you can pick your room. I'd be all over that offer.
  20. Not to excuse the port because they seem to have problems with accepting responsibility but it seems like hal screwed up royalty on boarding times. Seems like a lot of people are a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket lately.
  21. That was a long time ago. I was on a cruise on the koningsdam in March and I'm on the ship now. The amount of cost cutting is astonishing.
  22. People will act like children. If they get turned away enough they’ll maybe learn. I mentioned this to your colleague and she completely dismissed me. I boarded on November 12. You folks let way to many people board at once in boarding group a. The “jetway” was backed up and soon the escalator was backed up. There was nowhere to go and people were getting knocked over like bowling pins. I’m surprised there wasn’t a ton of injuries. I hope that gets managed better because it could be serious. Thanks.
  23. If it was that great it would still be there. Club orange is a much better addition. I guess it’s good that it had one fan. It’s amazing what “free” wine will do 😛😉.
  24. You do know thee person you quoted works at the port. I would hope she would be correct.
