  1. Interesting. So maybe moving back to the pre-pandemic capacities: 490/700/700/750/750?
  2. We have 6 Regent cruises booked. Those within a year would be more expensive under this promotion than we are paying. Those more than a year out would be modestly less expensive (a few hundred dollars/pp) than when we booked. None of the cruises we have booked were eligible for the 20% additional savings which are near-term European cruises where I assume they are trying to fill the ships.
  3. While I can't answer this specifically for a cruise ending in Tokyo (maybe Yokohama?...still nearby), our experience has been that they will have at least a couple of transfers where the early one will go directly to the airport and one for those with later flights will do some sightseeing and then go to the airport. Included if you used Regent air or at a price for those who didn't. Complicated in Tokyo because of having 2 relatively co-equal airports, Narita and Haneda.
  4. As Mahogany mentioned higher suite categories and/or status provide access to dining reservations earlier, 90 days rather than 75 days. What was your luck with Chartreuse (since you are on Voyager, you have two restaurants available for advance reservations)? Share a table. It's a great way to meet some very interesting individuals in our experience.
  5. As I recall, regardless of when you viewed the video as part of the check-in process, they require that you watch it again within 72 hours of boarding due to maritime regulations. So, watching it twice has been the norm for us.
  6. Could be one per suite if not >Silver or in Concierge. Been a long time since we were starting with Regent...and everyone paid for Internet in those days.
  7. No password. You register your device using your suite number and some personal info. You can register multiple devices, but only the number of free links you've been provided can be used simultaneously (or, I believe you can purchase extra links). E.g., if you have 2 links (and they are assigned by passenger, so 1 each) you could have 2 devices registered for each passenger (4 total), but you'd have to disconnect any other device assigned to a specific passenger before you could log on with the other.
  8. While it says "similar," I asked our TA to check with Regent and they said it'd be the Hilton in March for our cruise. Of course, this is a trust but verify situation when we get closer. Important to us becuase we have an extra night booked there in advance of the pre-cruise tour.
  9. Not easy to find. Here's the link: | All-Inclusive Asia Cruises | Asia Cruise Luxury Vacations | Regent Seven Seas Cruises (rssc.com)
  10. To be clear, 748 is a flared balcony. Starts narrow and gets wider at the end (though unlike the forward flared balconies, it doesn't reach the full width of the suites behind which are a higher category (D). So, within the F1 suites, 748 has a bit more to offer. See here: Deck Explorer | Regent Seven Seas Cruises (rssc.com)
  11. The flared verandas are much sought after. You get slightly more space than the suites forward of you and you can actually look straight forward along the ship because you are farther out. No downside compared to the other F1 locations though there are a few at the stern which have the wider full-length veranda.
  12. When these type of requirements are stated, they usually mean 72 hours before you arrive local time. So, convert your final arrival time in Singapore to 72 hours earlier. You don't lose 24 hours of lead time because you cross the date line.
  13. No corkage fees. Think about it: any wine you bring is less that Regent would otherwise provide as included wine. Also, perhaps obviously, no need to sneak alcohol purchases on-board like with many cruise lines.
  14. Regent has made this issue much more straight-forward. If your advance purchases for excursions or Culinary Kitchen classes exceed your non-refundable OBCs (regardless of source), the balance will be in refundable OBCs which can be cashed out on the ship or will be credited back to your credit card. Simplest way to explain this (and how it'll appear in your on-board accounting): Cost of excursions and Culinary Kitchen: $xxx Total of non-refundable OBC: -$yyy If the result is positive, it'll come out of the pre-paid amounts with the balance being refundable OBC if the result is negative, you'll still have a balance of non-fundable OBC (be sure to use or lose this balance) plus the total amount of refundable OBCs (which will include all pre-paid amounts)
  15. Yes, $100/suite as comp for everyone getting laundry. But I was referring to the (apparent) $250 bonus that someone was expecting for reaching gold. Newspapers have been erratic since restart and we are more or less ambivalent since it is a large use/waste of paper.
  16. While there are no guarantees, waitlisted excursions frequently clear in our experience. The fact that they allow you to waitlist implies that the capacity can be expanded whereas if there is no possibility because the controlling element (like a submersible) is fully booked and there is only one.
  17. After our cruise in August which ended in Amsterdam (where our flight was canceled so we overnighted at an airport hotel), the late transfer to the airport included a pretty decent tour to Zaanse Schans (a museum village) and Edam (as in Edam cheese).
  18. $250 OBC when reaching Gold? That's clearly something new(ish). We never heard of it and, when reaching Platinum, there was no gift or recognition other than new pins. Or is the $250 you reference something else entirely?
  19. Splendor: Miami to Miami, 21 January to 1 February
  20. Once upon a time (pre-COVID), the Culinary Kitchen bookings would show up as early as the shore excursions...1 year out. Or at random times thereafter. I just got in the habit of checking them every few days. Since they seem to be back in normal operation in 2023, I'd expect the lead time to get longer and longer until back to the ~1 year in advance. We were able to book our classes for next January on Splendor and next March on Explorer some months ago.
  21. Marne, Yes, you are probably too close to sailing for this to work. However, the email address is Special Requests <specialrequests@rssc.com>. I generally send something about 8 weeks out. There is no guarantee that they'll come through, but my success rate was pretty good pre-covid and marginally successful since (no Gewurtz on Voyager in August). The beverages you request have to be something in their normal supply chain, so no rare Belgian abbey ales.
  22. So, obviously, opinions differ on PR. Those that shun it will only make it easier for those of us who like it to get additional reservations, so everyone wins.
  23. Actually, some variance because, as the referenced list shows, some are keyed to specific restaurants. Only Splendor and Explorer have Pacific Rim, and Navigator (only) doesn't have Chartreuse. I was disappointed to see that the list no longer indicates that Pacific Rim has the Gewurztraminer that we greatly enjoyed on all previous voyages on both Explorer and Splendor. Perhaps that's temporary, but I will include it in my beverage request for Splendor in January and Explorer in March. We much prefer it to Riesling.
  24. But, it's a bottomless glass...
