  1. Thank you, CC, no apology necessary! I was quite impressed with your photo and cabin# overlay. Have not been to Stockholm, but everyone says how beautiful it is, especially Sail in. Hope to see it someday.
  2. CC, what ship was this ? On Venus we had 4055, but it's skipped in your photo. Had no noise, and no obstructed view.
  3. Viking has 2 TA's from BCN December 2022, both stopping at Funchal and St. Marten. 1 ends in SJU, other in FLL. SJU has more port calls. FLL only 2 ports I listed.
  4. Joe, I called V with questions re: adding extension -- Type of room at hotel (many avail. on website) -- they don't know. -- Air deviation fee? No. -- Transfers included? Yes. -- Refund if cancelled? Only if cancelled before air is ticketed. -- When is air ticketed? 65 days out. Considering going early and paying $100 pp air deviation fee, and booking own hotel. Would have to pay transfers, but would still be less than V cost of $1200 for 2 pax, 2 nights, and would get to stay where we want. Most Euro hotels always include breakfast. Motorcoach tour is on way to transfer to ship. Researching hotels in BCN that have been posted on V board: Hotels in Madrid and BCN
  5. Dentist, at bottom or top of page, depending on desktop or mobile, find "following" in blue, open, at bottom of window select unfollow, and save.
  6. Have paid tips in USD to drivers, guides, stewards, and all graciously accepted.
  7. 2 banks I use have machines that count out cash for teller's customer. Machine also counts cash incoming for deposit. Teller never counts it back, or coming in. I do not like this. I too, like new crisp/ uncirculated notes for vacation. I have not asked tellers yet, if they have them.
  8. Had a CD on HAL 3-4 years ago who showed his socks every night. Don't remember his name, a young guy. Another pax told me that since HAL CD's had to wear a "uniform" , grey suit every night, it was his way to be an individual. Possibly same guy?
  9. I, and over 100 others followed, and enjoyed the recent "live from world cruise" thread. To read it, he provided the link to his daily blog. We optional to read, and was very interesting and informative to me and many others. Enjoyed his take on everything V Star, and his excursions. Yes, had some food pics, but not very many. Was able to re-live some places I've been to, and many, many others I've never seen. Learned alot. No monetization. I chose to follow it everyday.
  10. Checked Verify app again. Tried to: add a new trip, cruises. V not listed.
  11. Agree. Happened to us 3 times on Dec. 2021 cruise. Had A+ -- V rescheduled flights with airlines.
  12. Next cruise Dec. 2022, ship sails evening of day of embarkation. But really appreciated Dec. 2021 Greek Odyssey cruise sailing on day 2 (scheduled), since flights were cancelled/changed 3 times, and arrived in ATH airport after 6 p.m., day of embarkation, and got on ship at 8:30. Would have missed ship.
  13. Had verifly app on phone from Dec. 2021 V Venus cruise. It still had my account, so I started a new trip with V, prior to 11JUN22 announcement, and entered booking ID, and embark date. Just checked it, trip still there, Vax info to be entered 30 days prior. Don't want to delete account because it already has my general info. But, on MVJ, also cannot find mention of app, under "Before You Go". Curiously, new "Pre-departure Info --Travel Information" doc. (6/15/22 --revised from doc. 6/14/22) does not have the pre-embark calendar countdown list. Under :Health and Safety Program, How does Viking define full vaccinated... copied the following: Proof of vaccination will be certified through VeriFLY. Guests will receive :and detailed instructions within 30 days of departure. So I'm also confused
  14. Started cruising in our late 20's, on Sun Line (Greek -- no longer in business) Demo was much older. We were always the youngest pax. Really enjoyed meeting other pax, one couple took us under their wing. Never minded the older demo, but so enjoyed the excellent food, service, entertainment, etc. Now we're the older demo, mid 60's! with decades of cruises. In my opinion, older folks enjoy being with younger, like minded people.
  15. On V website, my trip, air, faqs, what is air plus-- air plus is $100 to $150. Non refundable. My TA said it went up in April.
  16. On Venus, Dec. 2021, in WC, witnessed staff replacing (self) serving utensils. Don't know how often, but another pax told me every 15 minutes. I also would prefer staff to serve pax.
  17. V had a booking incentive, free air, and some other fine perks included as well. Cruise is December 2022. On MVJ, air will be assigned 90 days prior. Also saw the same info you were told--re: prioritizimg pax only 60 days out, however Another pax on my roll call paid air plus, and he was able to select his best flights ( 5 1/2 months out ). As has been said on CC, different V agents, different outcomes. Inclined to buy plus, since that pax was able to select a later departure time for inbound flight, instead of V assigned flight (disembarkation at 5am), and was assured he could stay on ship til 2pm. Also got to select a better--not circuitous-- routing, and avoiding ORD ! Perhaps you could try again with another V agent.
  18. I wonder how we all were able to live prior to instantaneous communication. And cell Phones. Do younger kids know what a pay phone is ? !
  19. Thank You. Sorry, I was giving my response, when you also were responding. Yours appeared after I submitted
  20. I just read Spain section on new doc. they do not require testing if fully vaxxed. Also, for US citizens: the following is copied from Spain travel site--link from V doc " b) If you do not have an EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent, you must complete a health control form before your departure and manually enter the details of your vaccination certificate, diagnostic test or recovery certificate"
  21. Stella Oceanis, my 1st cruise in 1984. And I was hooked! Was terrific in every way, service, cuisine, entertainment, lectures. Also sailed on Stella Solaris, also excellent. Sadly, they didn't keep up with cruise trends, and eventually went out of business.
