  1. As usual this is just our opinion. We are 70 and in good health, travel with carry on and personal item which makes train travel pretty easy. We did not ever feel uncomfortable walking around though had dinner in the hotel rooftop bar so it was all daylight. A couple folks asked for money and we just said no and kept walking. And we were out walking again at about 7am and had no issues. After exiting the train station it is a slight uphill walk a couple blocks, right turn and another 2-3 blocks to the hotel entrance.
  2. Stayed at the Hilton Motif this summer. About a 3 block walk from the Westlake train station which we rode from the airport. Easy walk to the mall if you need to shop. Easy early morning walk down to Pike Market - found coffee (not Starbucks) and pastry at a little cafe. Ate out at the waterfront. Then picked up a bouquet of flowers from the Market, looked so pretty in our cabin. As previously said, short Uber to the port. Once at the port you will be dropped at the Rideshare area and can make the walk in to the terminal or ride the provided shuttle to the luggage drop off. One trip we asked our driver to let us run into the Whole Foods near the pier to pick up wine (small wait time fee).
  3. Some folks report being able to switch the Classic for an alcohol free package which may get you vitamin water and a couple other things if that suits you. I would check on board.
  4. Since retirement our travel has changed - have taken about 2 per year since CoVid. Also doing land travel and other cruise lines plus added river cruising to the plans.
  5. That is a 3 hour drive - Uber would be about $250. There is the Briteline train which would be much less expensive. There are shuttle services as well but you need to enter information to get a quote. Finally a car rental may work for you.
  6. We sailed her twice and found the interior temperature comfortable. DH likes long sleeve shirts at dinner and in the theater but I am fine in a short sleeve top/dress. Plenty of women in sleeveless tops inside as well. I do carry a pashmina for evenings but rarely out it on.
  7. Often the app is more reliable closer to your sale date and certainly once on board.
  8. It is outdoors and open so I have definitely seen folks in their casual daytime clothes - definitely shorts, swim suit coverups, etc. The rule you quoted actually applies to speciality restaurants which was attached to those alcoves as well.
  9. I always check with a mock booking for an actual price as the price you see is just a "from", does not mean any at that price exist.
  10. The buffet is available for all three meals. The main dining room is available some mornings for breakfast and lunch, always for dinner. Your app will show you all the venues, if they are an extra charge and even the menu.
  11. The spa is not run by Celebrity cruises so the questions are not like to be answered by their agents, though there is never a reason for rudeness. I was not aware that there is a pre booking sale so have only scheduled on board. I have a great therapist at home to have my massage before traveling and once I get home (all for less than an on board treatment.)
  12. Perhaps I misunderstand the question - we have only had a $100 hold on our card which essentially lets them verify validity of the card, never a specific amount based on anticipated spend. On our card it appears as a "pending" charge which disappears without ever being an actual charge.
  13. Generally a cruise ship passenger is considered "in transit" rather than someone arriving by air to stay on land. Verify requirements on the individual countries website - please check there for most current information.
  14. On our Solstice Alaska cruise in August there were very few E and E+ per the lovely CC hostess and not a single Zenith. We enjoyed the sail in to Dawes Glacier (they opened at 7 for us) and it was beautiful. I don't typically eat breakfast but do like my coffee.
  15. In our travels we have always tipped the bus driver a bit and the guide as well. These are not cruise line employees but independent contractors. Just what we do and has been suggested in travel blogs from different areas, just not appropriate in Japan.
  16. Please review options with your PCP - so many of these medications do not play nicely. As antihistamine has been ruled out I highly doubt the scopolamine patch is ideal. I tried one patch at home (no medical issues) and had an unpleasant reaction. I have seen folks wearing them while guzzling down the drinks (contraindicated). I find sitting outside in fresh air, watching the horizon until I equilibrate. Also carry ginger candy. Another suggestion is eating a green apple.
  17. I doubt that a diffuser will attach firmly and as above, not very vigorous dryer.
  18. We are pack light folks so laundry is nice. I will plan to send laundry out on day 3 or 4, then on day 2 of the next cruise, then again day 5 if there is another cruise to follow.
  19. On every ship that we sailed with Pickleball it is a real mix, beginners wanting to learn, tennis players wanting to stand at the baseline and smash, and folks who play at home and just want a good game. On Apex it was a single court - put paddles in line when you want to play in.
  20. Pickleball is on the rooftop garden, a favorite area for me to read. Exposed to the wind so best play would be in port. Also no side fences, etc so it was amusing to watch. As far as quiet, we found Eden at the rear of the ship was pretty peaceful during the day and beautiful. The solarium is sometimes quiet until the hot tub crowd gets very loud.
  21. We did B2B through Amsterdam - we collected an In Transit pass from the officer who was handling the B2B group (met in a specific place). We were only warned we could not reboard until general boarding started (around 11am). Once you are back you actually go around the general boarding line to the front of the line. The port was still right near the train station so you can easily explore farther afield than Amsterdam though we always fill our time there. The tulips should be lovely in April though very crowded so get tickets before you go. I even found a lovely farmers market where we tasted cheese and bought a bouquet of local flowers to take back with us.
  22. Have seen the same rule with other cruise lines as well. Brickell to the port is very close and the Uber quite reasonable, no way I would travel back out to the airport to get on a transfer bus. Even the hotel port shuttle is not our choice (at a per person fee) when Uber on our schedule is less expensive.
  23. Not for me - any more I do not want the air travel for less than a 14 day trip.
  24. Have traveled carry on for years - personally do not depend on products in bathroom so carry bar shampoo and soap that I know I like.
  25. Have only had the UDP on Anthem - we boarded and headed to Jamie's (I know it may not be on the Wonder) at 11:30. There were two parties in front of us so it took a few minutes but then we were able to book all 12 nights (including Izumi) right there. Stayed there for our lunch - fantastic way to start the cruise.
