Are you excited for Aqua class Cruise only changes?
SbbquilterUT replied to numnums's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I loved my Aqua experience but do not need drink package or WiFi so have not booked it since that change. Do enjoy the quieter dining experience in Blu but the price had gotten out of hand. -
We had no issues in June or August this year.

Rotterdam Cruise Port to Amsterdam Airport
SbbquilterUT replied to Cruise NH's topic in British Isles/Western Europe
We disembarked, rode the train and made our 10:15 flight easily. But within half an hour the security line had grown quite long. Seems to come in waves. -
Magic Carpet adjacent room question
SbbquilterUT replied to martinitime1's topic in Celebrity Cruises
The Magic Carpet stays parked on the pool deck most of the time. When used as a tender entry it will be moved down to deck 2. At least that was what occurred on the Apex. -
Platinum benefits--coupons in room when we get there?
SbbquilterUT replied to KKB's topic in Royal Caribbean International
So often we have different experiences on ships - we have had it in the room as recent as last month so perhaps those things may be left up to each ship to decide. -
Platinum benefits--coupons in room when we get there?
SbbquilterUT replied to KKB's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We always get a paper on the dresser that lists the benefit - if not there ask your cabin attendant. -
The play was certain times up on the rooftop garden - one court and useful only when in port. Also no fences, etc so balls can really get away from you. They provided nets, paddles and balls.

Photos of a 4 people interior cabin?
SbbquilterUT replied to jc.christian's topic in First Time Cruisers
Every ship we have been on the main bed is usually nearly as wide as a king which splits into two twins even though the photo may not make it appear so. Than the upper bunks which need ladders. Otherwise cabins may have a sleeper sofa and a trundle but that was really short for an adult to sleep on- but kids may think it is fun. -
Excursions with a toddler

Rarely are seat belts available to install a car seat. -
At San Pedro we met in an assigned place, walked to security to "bing" out with our old card which was collected and returned to us later. Walked down the deck to "bing" back in with our new cards. Only disappointment was that pools and hot tubs were not available for a long time. We did tell our cabin attendant to not worry about a morning clean of our cabin as they had so many cabins to turn over (but of course he did get it done). There was a B2B lunch in the MDR but not too terrific, buffet was not crowded if you went right away.

Your most expensive cruise - how did it go?
SbbquilterUT replied to Honolulu Blue's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
Actually a trip with two cruises. TA Cape Liberty to Southampton, then week on land in Prague and Budapest followed by two week river cruise Budapest to Amsterdam. Fabulous trip that we had planned since 2019. DH wonders why I keep booking trips - I am old enough that I want to see everything while I can. Prices are crazy - but we do fly economy if the plane has two seats on the side, or 3 seats so we have an empty between, travel on land by train and local transit, while cruising do not buy drink or WiFi plan. The adventure has always been great fun. -
Our experience in the US is an easy turnaround - meet up and receive new card. Walk out with security and "bing" out. Walk down the deck and renter with new card - we did not have to walk to the port building or wait to reboard. Another choice is to get a pass and leave the ship to do what you want. They will tell you when you are allowed to re-board (once the ship is cleared for passengers) the ship and will be able to walk around the new passengers to reboard.

Having seen the very narrow channel they have to navigate with rocks appearing to be right below the surface (I know they are not) I can imagine bad weather makes that very dicey. Love the grumpy attitude - makes me think of children who thought I got up each morning thinking of ways to irritate them. 😎

Have you flown from Salt Lake City to London?
SbbquilterUT replied to SbbquilterUT's topic in Oceania Cruises
Thanks. -
Looking for experience with air booked for you by O. Delta is our preferred airline on this flight particularly as it is an A 330 with two seats on the outside. An anyone share which airline you have been booked on for SLC departure. Thanks

We found the music exceedingly loud around the open centrum and intruded on enjoying the lovely Cafe elBacio, as well as the specialty restaurants. Did enjoy the music out in Eden early in the evening . Even in the theater we found the volume very loud which threw off the balance of the voices with the instrumentals - tried sitting in different locations in the theater but that did not help. I wonder what they look for in the sound checks as we had a hard time trying to hear lyrics of songs.

In general we have gotten our best prices booking right after the cruise is released. The prices on every line have increased notably this year and again recently. Another thing that influences is the popularity of the cruise and specific ports. You can wait until the release of cabins right after final payment and see if cabins open up but you are taking the chance of not getting your desired ship/route/cabin.

This will be our first Oceania cruise and we usually book our own air and are weighing moving to O Life air. When would we learn our flights? Would we need to pay a fee to book those tickets earlier than that like we did with Viking? If we do not like the routing are we able to discuss and modify that? As you can tell I like to sort things out and have my ducks in a row. We are trying to compare finances - would be flying from a regional airport to a secondary (LAS or SLC) then on to Europe and I believe we would pay a fee to fly to the primary city for the flights. Could anyone point me to a place on their website that explains all of this as I can't seem to find one. Thanks for the help.

Airport shuttle cost outside of Seattle pier
SbbquilterUT replied to Maryalamb's topic in West Coast Departures
From Pier 66 which I believe is the Princess dock it is a flat rate $40 in taxi. From pier 91 it cost us $57 including tip to the airport last week. -
We stayed at the Motif last week - easy walk from the Westlake Light Rail station. Clean and neat though a bit pricey. Had drink at the rooftop bar. Next morning a short walk to Pike 's Market for coffee and pastry. Then the best part - picking up a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers for our cabin.

Disembarkation Questions -Ruby Colored Glasses

We did a car rental out of Long Beach airport in January - taxi over was less than Uber $40 including tip. Luckily Sunday morning will be an easy traffic morning. -
Port day transportation from Seattle dock to Pike Place
SbbquilterUT replied to brainerdgal's topic in West Coast Departures
It was easy to get an Uber from Pier 91 last week - the ride share is at the end of the pier area and has a shuttle if you want to wait. We walked out and had no trouble finding our ride. Taxi was a little bit less expensive. Pike's Market is about a 15 minutes or so ride away. While down there it is a bit of a walk to the Space Needle and Chiluly exhibit but really worth it. -
We headed out to South Beach - lots of chairs and umbrellas. Food and restrooms right there and a bar floating off shore.
