  1. Apex was shade of grey and cream with touches of deep purple - nice room and great bathroom.
  2. Try Travel Vase (much cheaper than airfare)- these are what I have used.
  3. Deluxe Interior on Apex was a fair bit larger than other interior and a lovely room.
  4. They have always managed to find one for me and I also have a vase that folds flat that I can use.
  5. We did not need to do anything - go to Blu the first evening and they will recognize your room assignment.
  6. Perhaps it relates to specific ports that may not offer due to local rules or an IT issue. I usually find somewhere to pick up fresh flowers on the way to the pier.
  7. For me a Med cruise is very different from the Caribbean islands - focused on long days in port trying to see as much as possible. After that a shower and dinner was lovely but we were ready to rest knowing we would be up early the next morning to do it again. Also the fewer passengers on Edge will make the lines to exit and re-enter the ship less long.
  8. June will be hot and humid in the daytime and not very cool in the evening, though a moving ship keeps things cooler.
  9. Headed east we usually want to spend at least three days in the embarkation city (if I have flown that far I enjoy exploring that city). We usually land in the morning, drop our bags at the hotel and if possible take a shower. Then we head outside to walk our feet off, get fresh air and sunshine. Keep going until about 8 pm local time. Now heading back west it takes us longer to acclimate and quit waking up at 3 am. This year we are doing the eastbound TA instead of flying - I know we lose and hour most days but that will not be an issue for us.
  10. Parking at the Orlando airport was completely full this weekend - adds to the fun. Lived in Orlando 45 years ago and hated spring break crowds even then.
  11. Also remember that those excursions with the same description may be presented by different vendors so the reviews would not necessarily apply.
  12. Not sure of you have time but many public recreation departments are now offering novice classes. $70 is really steep. It is a great game - mix up badminton, ping pong and a bit of tennis.
  13. So sorry that happened. This is just another issue I am happy to avoid by packing carry on for travel - not a choice for everyone but works for us. Additionally makes travel by train in Europe easier.
  14. We travel with our own stainless steel refillable bottle and refill in the room and keep cool. The bottles in the room are aluminum and may have sharp edges.
  15. Has been on the basketball court on our last couple cruises. Wind makes it a very tricky game.
  16. In Amsterdam it was a simple walk off without interaction with anyone - we were not carrying any luggage so perhaps that would be different.
  17. DH wears slacks and long sleeve shirt ( his choice as he is always cold) and I will wear a dress or slacks and top as if going to the theater or nice restaurant (I know that is not for everyone).
  18. Your challenge will be they will mail your card to your home so you will not have it that day. There are airports you can have the interview as you re-enter the US which will speed you through the process. I have not entered the US since last summer and there the GE machine was all facial recognition so no card was required.
  19. After 10 years working on the road I prefer soft sided with 2 quality roller blade wheels - my Travel Pro is now is nearly 14 years old (flown about 500,000 miles) and is ready for retirement but hate to part with it. 4 wheels are great for airport concourses and flat sidewalks, awful on long carpeted hotel halls and cobblestones.
  20. Items are set in the guest room, then culled down from want to need. Goal is always carry on only (we fly) so we are practiced at putting it together. Then we work together packing though I am the one that puts the puzzle together. Just checked in for next trip - 11 night TA, inter Europe flight, 6 day land then river cruise. Now to see if carry on only will work.
  21. Just had a great time in VRBO in Key West with 6 adults and cute 3 year old GS. Lots of fun but I got tired of feeling like Mom - shopping, cooking, cleaning up to keep things tidy (not without help but the onus did fall to me or I felt the need to do it as no one else thought about it and I can't abide a mess. Price wise our cruise with 3 interior cabins was about the same and I did not have to do any of those things. Next we are trying an AI for the same reason.
  22. Agree - we travel with refillable water bottles and find the tap water very nice (drink RO at home too). Hate to see all the single use plastic bottles even though the ship does separate plastic for recycle purposes.
