  1. We have done that on previous trips - but we do travel with only a 22" and personal item each. The walk is about 10" on sidewalk. The first time we made the mistake of going downstairs at the terminal, turns out the best bet is to go up to street level at the back of the station (away from the tracks) and then a left turn, the hotel is straight ahead of you then. We found it a great location to walk and wander from.
  2. On our recent ships the first floor of dining was traditional and the second floor for MyTime dining. As far a assigned entry times it does seem to vary some by port - they were reviewed/enforced at Tampa and Miami for us this year.
  3. This topic hits close to home - Jan 24 boarded Constellation for 21 day B2B. I had rarely left my home for 2 weeks - no manicure or facial or massage, as part of the prep for cruise. kN95 mask traveling and any time out of our cabin (except eating). We did have a drink before dinner, sitting at the periphery of the lounge with no one around. No use of elevator, eat outside when possible and still got sick day 6 of the trip. That is the nature of this highly contagious virus - get tired of hearing if we had been safer we would not have gotten it. The big challenge now is if there is not a medical issue that requires care when will we quit testing.
  4. At the Sagrada Familia I spent at least 10 minutes examining the bronze sculpture entry doors - they are amazing. Then entering the church without crowds (early entry tickets) was magical. We did re-enter the church at the end of our time and by then the crowds were overwhelming.
  5. One other caution I would say bout room service - they are spread really thin with having to provide in room dining for all the quarantined guests so sometimes the wait for the phone to be answered was long.
  6. I would be very cautious of the scopolamine patch - potent drugs with some side effects. Any med you may want to try you might consider trying at home to see how it affects you. We do travel with Bonnie (meclazine) and ginger candy but have not needed either. Best help is to go outside and relax, breathe the fresh air and watch the horizon to acclimate your eyes/balance. Also be cautious of drinking too much alcohol the first day.
  7. I realize how that sounds - sorry. In that case they would camp out in the lounge all day long making it difficult to even sit and have a drink without feeling like we were disrupting their family party.
  8. We have sailed earlier in December and loved it - ship is decorated beautifully. We did one holiday cruise - carols were sung, Chanukah was observed and there were hoards of large family groups with hoards of kids who seemed to take over many of the public spaces/bars as if they were the only passengers on board. Having said that we do love. Raising early December or January .
  9. Interesting article but a couple of considerations - panoramic tours are great for folks with mobility or stamina issues which alludes to things you are able to do. We have driven the Yukon Highway from Skagway as well as taken the train and enjoyed both very much. I do get a bit twitchy when excursions with some physical exertion are limited to adults under 65, as if that downhill hike is too much for me even though we regularly hike beautiful SW desert parks.
  10. Am still using Travel Pro bags that have flown about 400,000 miles - yes looking a bit worn. I do not like 4 wheels as they are too easy to break off so we stick to low profile roller blade type wheels. Almost all trips we use our roller board 22" and 21" bags and a personal item each as I hate to mess with luggage and usually take public transportation if we can.
  11. One of the reasons we have been enjoying Celebrity - knew it was nice and just had that reinforced on another line where the smell of the casino was pretty widespread on that deck.
  12. Currently their testing is daily though we are hearing some says that after the first few days it goes to alternate days.
  13. Check out the smoothie offerings in the spa cafe - just not sure if there is a charge with the premium package.
  14. When did you test positive? When is your sailing?
  15. Me too - I traveled every week for work for 10 years so have a drawer with all the travel stuff in it and can pack very easily from that. Passport cases have passports, vaccine card, GE card, back up credit and international ATM card - grab that and I instantly feel better. Have a great time - hope you can leave work behind
  16. Wish I had more specifics but am not working any longer. Again this is my understanding that for travel and documentation purposes the CLIA license does appear on the printed report and folks have reported being turned away from validation if it didn't.
  17. The testing site for these specific tests require the CLIA license as part of the report. This is why home tests are not accepted but proctored tests are as those entities have the accreditation.
  18. Not in our experience, can be used for cruise fare only.
  19. The egg stations are in the back of the Windjammer and they were making omelets and eggs back there last week.
