  1. Yes, it all does make sense. I appreciate the detailed explanation. I will make a point of dining in the suite for dinner at least once, depending on the weather. We are cruising with friends who are in a R.S. There first Ocean cruise. Thank you.
  2. Are you saying you would book a S Class PH for a cold weather cruise, but not the M PH? Why? Just curious. In a crazy moment I decide that I just had to try the Summit’s PH, so we are booked Iceland to Boston in mid August. Any tips about the PH? Thanks
  3. Did you book your flights with Celebrity Air? Are you asking about check in for your flights or the cruise? Like other’s have said, perhaps it is something unique to a UK flight booking? If not, you can call CA and have them send you your flight information details.
  4. True, but an expensive burger at dinner time.
  5. I have no experience with Aqua Class with the AI included, so I was not focused on the difference. I was just saying that the $1200 a day for two people is a bad deal for a Sky Suite IMO.
  6. Got it. Thanks Your last line lead to my confusion -“So if Celebrity has price me out of their cruise line I will just do a different get away” But it is not the first nor will it be the last time that I get confused.
  7. From my experience there are no typical differences as pricing is based in supply and demand. in your example the Sky Suite at $1200 a day for two people is a really bad deal. I have not cruised in an Aqua class since was changed to include the AI, so I do not know if it is a good deal.
  8. 45% of what number? Is 45% of X greater than $800? The price of the drink packages have increased significantly, I doubt that very many people buy an individual alcoholic drink package. The bundle is a much better deal. Seems to me the choice is really between the AI or the cruise only. No one would buy the inside Gty AI option showed above, so no real choice on the $999 deal, but with different OBC add ons, the cruise would be almost free.
  9. Also cruise ship odds are terrible on the video poker machines.
  10. See the above postings as examples. An 11 day cruise only inside cabin for $999 is a real bargain. Of course it is a guaranteed inside cabin with no perks and I would never book it. But if you are just looking for a bargain,
  11. Sorry for my typo. You cannot change a return flight. You have to cancel both the outgoing and the returning flights. Therefore you were not actually changing your return flight. You were cancelling both your flights and then rebooking both of your flights. My point was there must have been a misunderstanding and they mistakenly thought you wanted to only rebook the return. You were fortunate that your outgoing flight cost had not increased in price. You are correct that they should have known what they were doing and explained it better. They should have asked if you still wanted the outgoing flight and given you the price. (Not assumed that you did not want the outgoing CA flight) Of course it is always possible that I do not understand the CA process, but this has been my experience. This is the reason that when booking CA flights I have to wait until the date that the return is available to book both ways. Glad it worked out for you.
  12. I suspect there was a misunderstand. If you want to add a return on a one way ticket or make a change to either flight, CA has to cancel the complete reservation and make a new one. It looks like they cancelled your reservation per your request and only booked the one way. I know it is kind of dumb, This is why when I want to make a change, I call and cancel my air reservation. (I also prefer the Princess process where you can change and cancel on line.) Then I enter a new reservation on line. I always check the cost of booking direct with the airlines up to the final payment date. I prefer to manage my flights directly with the airline unless I am saving a significant amount of money.
  13. I think the main reason was the growing number of passengers with the Elite and above classification. The numbers were just not manageable, too many people. The enhancement allowing the free cocktails in most bars helped, but there is just not enough space for all those people interested. I have seen hors d’oeuvres being served in other area of the ship as well. Eden’s on the Apex for instance. I serious doubt if the staff has been reduced for this change as it is very busy at most bars offering the free drinks. Those of us that always get a drink package would prefer a different benefit, since free drinks is not a benefit for us. this benefit does cost Celebrity a lot of lost revenue from those that do not have a drink package.
  14. No customer advantage except as you stated. A cancellation can affect many different levels as people move up to another category.
  15. Yes, my favorite Celebrity dining experience. Miss it on the E class.
  16. Better yet, All Included. What is All Included? All Included is a pricing strategy that includes three amenities (Tips, Basic Wi-Fi and Classic Drink Package) in your cruise fare.
  17. How do you suggest the OP avoid the window washing equipment when bidding on a Sunset Sky Suite? Naperville, I would bid enough to get you just below 50% of the slider if you really want to wind a bid. (Assuming there are not a lot of that category’s cabins available.). Make sure you check the price to book any bidding category directly. It might be better to just pay to upgrade if you have a cruise only fare. Good luck.
  18. Couldn’t they have been booking the “just in case” cruises with a fully refundable deposit?
  19. You can’t be serious? Gives us some example of successful companies that promote increases in pricing and potential negative adjustment in services. I cannot thing of a single item that I purchase that I now pay less or receive more for the same price.
  20. Sorry, you are correct. You were not the one that attached the document as it was in the quote section for your response. The attachment was last updated in March 2023 and it stated - “At this time, there are no changes to our standard deposit policy. All Suite categories require a 200% deposit at the time of booking.” I read a 100% deposit as a requirement of the full deposit and not the full fare and 200% deposit as a double deposit. Although true in March, the policy has now changed.. I suspect you are aware of that fact.
  21. The Document you attached is dated March 1, 2023 and the double deposit was the suite policy. A suite deposit change was implemented effective June 1, 2023 as announced recently.
  22. I have read many positive comments concerning the E Class multiple MDR set up. In fact the most significant disappointment for me while cruising on a the Apex was that I could not order from the MDR menu in Luminae. There are a much greater number of non suite cabins, so I would expect most members do not sail in suites. But the Retreat is certainly a wonderful product. I find the Retreat experience better than the Regent and Oceania experience. (Oceania did have outstanding dining).
  23. Who would you expect to ultimately pay for any business’s capital expenditures?
  24. I usually have a phone number in my cabin for the cabin steward. The OP statement might be an exaggeration? Obviously they did not enjoy their cruise.
  25. All four devices logged in at the same time with your Sky Suite booking? if this is a new Celebrity enhancement for all suites, I wonder why the enhancement is not being promoted.
