  1. For a US booking you would need to pay the prevailing rate for the AI booking.
  2. Deleted as the difference has already been explained.
  3. For a $100 change fee per person, you can change the ship/sail date and not lose you NRD, correct? The main change is that you can no longer get FCC and select a cruise later. AM I understanding the FAQ’s correctly?
  4. Doesn’t sound right to me. I suggest you check the Celebrity pricing on line for a new Sky Suite booking. Then calculate the difference between what you paid for your existing booking and the price for the Sky Suite. Armed with that information I suggest you call Celebrity and try again. There should not be any penalties when buying an upgrade.
  5. I agree. IMO investing in a dedicated private island would be a total waste of money for the Celebrity brand. There are many cruise brands with private island options. Most of Celebrity’s Capital investments are directed towards new ships and improvement of existing ships which is logical to me.
  6. Obviously not every cruiser can have a window seat for dining, I would guess that not all, but most people would have that preference. My DW and I have enjoyed many cruises, there is no way to prevent people from Queuing up for various activities including dining. Boarding, disembarking, dining, going to the, show, etc. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all be first if we wished? And now we are not suppose to have a conversation even at our own table or dare talk to our neighbor? Rather sad.
  7. You might want to pick one retreat category and make a higher bid. Depends on much you really like to try the Retreat. Your Captain Club status gives you a slight increase. Good luck.
  8. Minus the $200 pp change fee assuming the emergency is not covered by insurance.
  9. My cruise was on Princess in January. Our shore excursion was in Panama City. A little strange that the policy is not consistent.
  10. They either gave you incorrect information or the requirement has changed. We had a Panama stop in January. We did a tour of Panama and my passport was in my safe on board.
  11. I am not sure what lesson you have learned. Always make sure when using a TA that any Celebrity Air that you book is reflected in your TA’s final invoice when you make your final payment. If your TA does not understand how this work, I agree with the others that you should find a new TA. Certainly that alone should not be a reason to avoid using CA.
  12. I suggest compare the price of a booking with the AI and a Cruise only booking. You would not get a reduction by downgrading the second person to a Zero proof package. Compare the AI pricing to a cruise only booking with a separate Premium drink package and a Zero Proof package. This likely be more expensive and not include the internet and regular gratuities.
  13. Do you have a Casino booking? If not, it might be better to book the AI rate. (Bundle) Booking just a Beverage package only might not be the best option.
  14. Yes, they can visit you in your suite.
  15. I believe ATD is Any Time Dining, which is a Princess Cruise line term. It may have changed, but Celebrity calls it Select Dining.
  16. Tough decision for sure. I suggest you start with one of the Sky Suites. Good luck.
  17. I am not sure if I fully understand your point. If you are currently booked with a Cruise Only rate, you will not get the AI perks if you win a move up bid.
  18. Thank you for the clarification. It is either an error on the website or Celebrity is introducing something new with the Celebrity Suites. if you win the bid, you would certainly have a valid point. What category do you currently have booked? Is it an AI or Cruise only booking?
  19. What category is your current booking? If you already have a Sky Suite with all the associated perks and amenities, then yes a much bigger cabin is what you get extra. If you are currently in a non suite, you get a bigger cabin and balcony, use of the Retreat Lounge, Retreat Sun Deck, Luminae, priority boarding at any time, etc. Can you send a screen shot of the link that you clicked on to give the information that you posted. It might clear up the confusion. The information that you posted does not clearly say that all Sky Suites and Celebrity Suites get unlimited Speciality dining. Perhaps it is referencing a Royal Suite or some other category. I cannot help to wonder if this description is not what you are assuming. I did not receive this offer, so I cannot say for sure. it would be very surprising if Celebrity was running a special that included free unlimited Speciality dining formSky Suites or Celebrity Suite.
  20. Congratulations. You certain both deserve the good fortune. It must have been the Orchid that you gifted that brightened some people’s day.
  21. What does it say on the page before this information? The category of Celebrity Suite does not include unlimited Speciality Dining, but some higher level suites do. Also the Celebrity website clearly says this related to the Perks normally included with all suites.
  22. You (Celebrity does not help clarify) are mixing up perks and amenities. You also seem to be mixing up categories of suites and even cruise lines. You get the perks associated with your original cabin. If you booked a cruise only rate, you do not get the AI perks. A Celebrity Suite does not come with free Speciality dining. A royal Suite and above (including the Reflection’s Signature suite) includes unlimited Speciality dining as it is an amenity of that class of cabin. I wonder if your reference to fitness classes is about Princess’s Premier package? All celebrity suites do not include the same amenities as some of the higher level suites include additional items. You can review the details on Celebrity’s website under each category. Good luck.
  23. A SV starts at $2848 pp, the Sunset Sky Suite at $5908, and the RS at $11,903. Obviously the minimum bids changed when you changes to the Sunset Sky Suite. (which by the way is a nice cabin IMO). Was the bid at £3165pp after you switched to the Sky Suite. I also would not bid on the CS. The RS is certainly tempting with the unlimited speciality dining, in suite liquor set up, and a much bigger cabin for 10 days. Good luck.
  24. Yes, you receive unlimited speciality dining, the bottles of liquor, and stocked mini bar.
  25. Interesting experience that you shared. Your experience should be helpful to others. If you would have taken the offer that your TA presented (most likely the prevailing rate), I am sure you would have received the extra points. I am not convinced that a deeply discounted upgrade would have included the extra points. Perhaps you were lucky that your theory was not tested in this example. Any possibility that the empty cabins were in categories below yours? Personally I do not think it is fair for Celebrity to issue greatly reduced upgrades on board just because someone asks at guest services. Seems unfair to a vast majority of passengers. Also it creates a line at guest services for people that might have a real issue that needs attention.
