  1. I just shared my experience in a different thread. The same thing almost happened to me. (Not using my dining credit after I cancelled and tried to rebook a different date.) I found that when you cancel a reservation that includes a dining credit, you have wait a while below you to rebook using the dining credit. It seems to take a while for the credit to reappear. Given what you want to do, I suggest you cancel the reservations and then wait 10 minutes or so to rebook. Right before the reservation is confirm (you have to put in your CC number even if you are only using dining credits), you will be able to see if your credits are being applied and if any amount is being charged to your CC. Make sense?
  2. From my experience that can happen if you first make a SD reservation, cancel the reservation, and then immediately make a different reservation. If you look at the payment page, it is clear if a credit is not being used. It takes some time before the credit is returned to your account. Also, I could not apply a credit to the first night SD reservation that is included with a suite booking. Just my experience. if you have the Premier package, you might want to ask them if you any credits left in your account. That might be a clue.
  3. Since you are already on the cruise, it does not matter. After reading your comment and other conflicting comments, i decided to try it. I was able to log and make my Speciality Dining reservation with no charge. When I clicked to make a reservation, there was a notice starting that I had dining credits available to use. I selected my location and time. There was a summary with a charge, a credit applied to the charge, and it showed a balance of zero. If I recall correctly the system did ask for my charge card information, but after entering the information, the next step showed the summary that I stated. I did notice once when I cancelled a reservations, I had to wait awhile until my credit showed up again. i hope you are enjoying your cruise and you were able to reserve the days and times that you wanted.
  4. Congratulations. Was Miami an option for the EZcheck?
  5. I hope this becomes an Edge Class standard. Not being able to order from the full MDR menu was the biggest negative when cruising in the Retreat on the Edge.
  6. With AA, you got shafted. The free luggage benefit does not require the cruise to be booked with an AA credit card. You just need to make sure your Faf number is on your reservation. Misunderstanding somewhere. It is different on United where the CC free luggage benefit requires you to use the United CC for the flight. Who charged you for the luggage on your AA flight?
  7. Sorry I was not very clear about my question, therefore I edited my post. I know it is an extra cost.
  8. Thank you for the quick answer. Is the Cabana different than just two lounge chairs? I recall that you are staying in a suite. Do you find the Sanctuary still offers good value for you? We booked the Sanctuary for a two week cruise on the Emerald some years ago and loved it. But on that cruise we were booked in a mini suites that was not covered. We do not sit in the sun. So the Sanctuary was worth it for us. Our next cruise is in a full suite, therefore we were wondering if it is still worth the extra cost. Or will the Suite balcony be enough. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  9. Interesting. Are you saying that there is no way to book a Specialty restaurant in advance using the Premier credits. (Without paying?). Thanks
  10. Thank you for your postings. I am enjoying learning more about the ship. Did you book the Sanctuary for the afternoon only for the whole cruise? Are your pictures taken from the location of your loungers? Thanks
  11. Several of use were discontinued the Specialty Dining number with a B2B 14 day book with the Premier (Not two sevens) Log into your Princess account and pull up your 14 day cruise, click on luggage tags and travel summary ant the top and then click on print summary. The last page shows the value of your Premier package. If you do the math, you might find you get four Specialty dinners and not just two. I was actually surprised. Each of my 7 day cruise shows two dinners per person for a total cost savings(value) of $58.80 for each Your 14 day booking might reflect the price for four each.
  12. If I knew about that feature, I have certainly forget. I found it. Nice summary. I never checked by 14 day version before I cancelled it, so I am sure what it said. Are you booked on a 21 day cruise that is created out of 3 seven day cruises? If I divide your numbers for most the the items, they match on of my seven day cruises. Thank you for teaching this old dog a new trick.
  13. Perhaps the Plus is not a separate item to be added like a drink package. It is a choice of rate/fare? And you made a change and the prevailing rates/OBC apply. Just a guess. The Plus does not show as a separate charge, but a standalone beverage package would. Does the higher Plus dummy booking show the higher of lower OBC if it was a new booking?
  14. Neither my original invoice from Princess or my TA invoice after the transfer included the value pricing that you show. Perhaps this is from your TA. You make a very defendable point. Wonder if we also receive two medallion accessories. I certainly did not. Lucky for me this is the single 14 day booking number that I cancelled before I booked the two 7s. Thank you for pointing our my big mistake, I need to be careful.
  15. Excellent question. Last week I was wondering the same thing. Did you book directly with Princess or with a TA? i cannot answer your question, because I have yet to take my cruise. I last week I booked a B2B as a single fourteen day cruise. (For an April Cruise) My document was different than yours. My invoice from Princess stated this. (See attached photo). It clearly shows only two speciality dinners from the Premier package. I immediately transferred to booking to my TA after receiving my usual quote with a discount. This is what it said on my TA invoice for the single 14 day cruise. “$250 onboard credit this promotion includes Princess Premier; Gsts 1&2 will receive the following: *PREMIER BEVERAGE PACKAGE with SERVICE CHARGE included for guests 21 years old or older. Those under 21 will receive the Premier Coffee & Soda Package. *WI-FI is unlimited for guest 1 & 2 in the cabin, four devices per guest. *CREW APPRECIATION is pre- paid for applicable guests in the cabin *PREMIUM DESSERTS*JUICE BAR*FITNESS CLASSES (Unlimited for duration of voyage) *SPECIALTY DINING (2 Nights) *PREMIER PHOTO PKG *PRINCESS PRIZES *FREE MEDALLION SHIPPING *MEDALLION ACCESSORY *RESERVED THEATER SEATING” I knew from previous experiences that I would receive two minibar set up for each 7 days. One each for a suite and one each for being Elite. I started to get concerned, especially since I am on the Enchanted and I knew a suite includes a free 360 experience. So I was left wondering like you about whether I would receive 2 or 4 speciality restaurant dinners for the premier package. ( and two 360 experiences.) I closely checked and compared the pricing of two seven day cruises to the 14 day cruise. Due to my military OBC and a special last week (guessing), Princess quoted me $200 OBC per 7 day cruise. I only had a total OBC of $250 for the 14 day cruise, therefore it was cheaper to book two separate 7 days cruise. ( included the exact same wording os my TA invoice for each it the two cruises). And I did not have to risk not getting the extra dinners. After I received my discount from my TA, I had her cancel the 14 day cruise and book me as two 7 day cruises. I had to change cabins, but I booked the two 7 day cruises in the same cabin. I am not sure why my invoices reflected something different than yours. Perhaps mine was just an error. First by Princess and then by my TA. I also am looking forward to hearing answers from recent cruisers. Good Luck to you.
  16. We did a “repositioning” cruise in August of this year as it was on our bucket list. The cruise did not disappoint. You need to be prepared for rain and cooler temperatures. And hopefully you get mostly good days. We flew directing to Iceland for Chicago. We flew in four days before our cruises and explored the South end of Iceland and also enjoyed the museum. We would recommend even more time pre cruise and perhaps a guided land tour on the front end. (We just did day tours). The cruise stopped at two ports in Iceland, one in Greenland, NovaScotia, and Newfoundland. We disembarked in Boston. The only port that was changed was that we were demoted to the smaller stop in Greenland. Shore excursions and land tours are expensive. I would not fly any further East than Iceland. As an alternative you could fly to Iceland and take a cruise only around Iceland and add a land tour for the places not visited on a land tour. I agree that you do not want to miss PrinceChristian Sound in Greenland. We were fortunate to have great weather and spent almost the whole day visiting different Glacier and breathtaking scenery. We all agreed that it was our favorite. The Waterfalls in Iceland are spectacular. It is a very live and active Island as you can tell from the current news. A little scary actually. i hope you can find something that works for you. Good luck.
  17. I think you are correct and your TA invoice is incorrect.
  18. Also if booking a suite, you get an included embarkation speciality dining for each 7 day cruise.
  19. You do realize that the $65 is the total per person for the whole cruise? Less than $5 a day per person?
  20. Thank you to everyone for the good news. My last Princess cruise was on the Emerald in January and cans were not included. I am so pleased and it looks like I will be able to get my favorite CF Diet Coke. It has always been a slight negative for me with Princess. Awesome
  21. What Brad of cans have you been able to get on one of the Princess packages. For us it has always been fountain soda. something new?
  22. You transferred the booking with a phone call to Princess. I always fill out the form and emailed it.
  23. I found out recently that the TA gets additional commission if you win a move up bid. I was able to increase by TA OBC when I won my bid. I was a little surprised.
