  1. I agree. Tacky for sure. I am surprised he did not have any alternative premium level wines by the glass to offer. i would also not be pleased. If a sommelier told me that they had no acceptable premium wines by the glass, I would certainly make sure management knows what I was told.
  2. My wife and I have been in many cruises with the Premium package. No one has ever suggested to us that we should buy a bottle of wine to get an acceptable premium wine. Even on our October 2021 TA. In fairness we have never complained. I could see if someone complained that they did not like any of Premium package wines that they liked. I do sometimes try a glass of wine over the premium wine limit.
  3. Why would you care what their TA said, especially since they appear to have not used their TA or any TA for this cruise.
  4. I am sure a lot of people are fooled by the term “French Balcony”. At least with an Infinite veranda, you get more space in your cabin. The only time that I have cruised in that type of cabin was on a river cruise. I liked it, but only compared to a window only cabin. It will be interesting to see if the prices for an Infinite Veranda drop significantly.
  5. Still does not seem logical. Can you release your hold (or wait until it cancels) and try rebooking. You must have been logged in. did you check the price without logging in. I also woukd not let it go for a $400 difference. Good luck.
  6. Is it possible that your friends are booked via a TA? If they send you their invoice, you can see if it is direct and whether it has any special codes/discounts. Obviously you situation as you understand it does not seem right.
  7. Doesn’t the Summit have the Celebrity AP for menus? Enjoy your cruise.
  8. 1. Celebrity would need to sell or transfer most of their ships. 2. Celebrity would need to significantly increase their price point. 3. Celebrity would need to eliminate a lot of overhead and staff. 4. Celebrity would need to fire all the Executives and Board if they every made such an idiotic decision, (after it fails). Do not think anyone needs to be concerned about it being seriously considered.
  9. Sorry by above response to cublet was meant for you. My apologize to cublet. Riviera, I hope you make a good choice for yourself and enjoy your cruise.
  10. As I recall, I wonder if you are thinking about a different cruise. i would still ask your TA or Celebrity (if booked direct) to link your reservation. I am sure you know neither one of you should submit a Move Up bid.
  11. I believe your questions have been answered. i would recommend that you do not use the probability of winning a Move up bid in your cruise decision. (Although I am sure Celebrity would prefer that you do). If you would not not be perfectly happy with the cruise, cabin, perks, and amenities included with your purchased cruise, I would recommend that you do not book. I am fairly confident that most people do not win bids and as the cruise business increases, I would expect the probability of winning a bid to drop dramatically. Book what level you really want and then submit a bid for a dream upgrade, expecting not to win.
  12. Yes, July 1, 2019 was a long time ago and a lot has changed since then.
  13. It is certainly very easy to understand and the changes address the “forced” perks that some people did not like.
  14. When you entered the AA record locator does it still show your original/planned flights? If yes, It might be a slight change in time or an aircraft change. This happens frequently.
  15. Thank you for sharing your experience. For many of us Isolation and separation from our cabin mates is more of a concern than the health risk of Covid itself. Based on previous reports, I am very surprised that you were not given the option to isolate in your partner’s cabin and that even if you both tested positive you had to be in two different cabins. Perhaps a misunderstanding? Good luck to you both.
