  1. California pizza sucks. I haven't found a good pizza, anywhere in this state, since moving here. I'm sure it's out there somewhere but I haven't found it. I've pretty much quick all fast food places in CA with a few exceptions. You can get a sit-down meal at Chili's cheaper than you can get a combo McD's or Wendy's. In n Out is still the best fast food value in CA. Also, I eat from roadside taco trucks a lot... Three Carne Asada Tacos for $6 can't be beat and definitely enough food.
  2. I'm sorry your mom is still having issues... I hope she gets better soon. I'm confused why you're dragging Royal. This is an issue between you and the insurance company.
  3. "Worth it" is such a subjective question... I have one booked when we go there on Icon in Nov... However, I got it for $219. I haven't seen it less than $399 for over a year... I probably would pay that price and would be looking at a different experience.
  4. I'm sorry Jane. It's a terrible way to start off your new life in your new state. I hope the next few days gets better for you.
  5. I've not heard of any new policy. I'd want to see a new invoice to confirm my new price is correctly applied. I'd call C&A.
  6. The last time I checked Royal Caribbean doesn't have a port of call in Wisconsin. Also, any jurisdictions liquor laws are irrelevant when the vendor chooses to implement stricter protocols, which they can do at their discretion.
  7. As I posted subsequently, that may be the case. However, the bartender cited a rule about children at the bar. Whether he just made that up to keep the kid off the stool and keep it open for other tipping patrons or not I can not say. Mom and Dad sat next to me at the bar and Jr. was relegated to his stroller a couple of feet away. That same bartender had no problem with my underage grandchildren coming up to the bar ordering a cocktail and standing there while he made the drink. However, they left the bar area immediately and either sat at a table or left the lounge completely. I don't think we know for sure what the official rule is since sadly even official rules are only inconsistently enforced.
  8. Just checked all ten of my future cruise yesterday. While I didn't get any reductions since most were booked at the earliest possible time when prices were lower. I've noticed a trend downwards on every cruise.
  9. True but how do you keep the data anonymous while at the same time factor it into the equation that is maximizing revenue?
  10. I'm not sure what there is or why you want to disagree with my first hand reporting of an incident that I was directly involved in with your suppositions about the bartender's hidden true motives. I was there... I sat next to and talked with this nice young couple and their toddler. I can give you the ship, the sailing date, the day of the sailing and even the approximate hour the incident happened. The bartender is my favorite bartender in the fleet. He has served me literally hundreds of drinks. He cited a rule about children at the bar. I can even tell you what seat I was sitting in when the incident in question happened. He may have had all kinds of other intentions or motives other than "a rule" that kids can't sit at a bar however, that's what he cited in this interaction.
  11. I wouldn't speak on behalf of the OP but perhaps the reason is patriotism 🙂
  12. Nothing says "special" like a buddy getting ordained over the internet. Congrats on your long and happy marriage. 😇
  13. It's very real... I'm 1/9 in my success of bidding for upgrades.
  14. I don't think so... It is an outside company that handles this for Royal so they wouldn't have that kind of data. The algorithm simply calculates all of the cascading effects of each move and selects the one that provides Royal with greatest revenue.
  15. That may be, the child would have been about 2 to 2 1/2 years old. However, the implication was there was some rule about young children at the bar...
  16. I had this happen once back in 2022... It was the start of the Thanksgiving/Black Friday sale. The IT dept. screwed everything up. There were charges pending and purchases not going through... There were refunds that took forever it was a mess. If you don't see it in your cruise planner purchase history assume it didn't go through and you won't be charged. If you end up double charged you can have the charges reversed but it's a painfully slow process. You'll need the resolutions dept when you do.
  17. I'd pick the hotel you want without worrying to much about traffic hold ups. LA traffic can be a deal but if you give yourself 30 minutes extra for transit time you'll be fine at Dana Point. It's way nicer than San Pedro.
  18. Yeah but mine is an aft facing balcony... and it was a refundable deposit... Way better deal than your interior.
  19. I've been following your saga Jane... I'm so sorry you are going through what you are going through. I spent the better part of my life in the transportation business before doing what I'm doing now full-time. I was not in retail household moving like you're doing but transportation none the less. We didn't do your kind of work but you'd hear stories along the way. It's a completely different kind business. The retail household moving side of the transportation business is filled with crooks. Be thankful your movers are actually coming in the morning and not the afternoon or evening. Had they come in the evening, while the driver would probably have been sober none of the swampers would be. I remember one story I heard where the it took over a month to get from central Indiana to NW Washington State. Even then the movers held her stuff up until she paid some ridiculous extra fee. I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow. I'll cross a few fingers and toes for you tonight and hope I wake up to the story of your successful move. 🙂
  20. Last time I was on Navigator the bartender asked a couple with a small child to not sit the child in the barstool at the bar. There was no problem with them with being there with the child and even them sitting at the bar just as long as the child sat in the stroller a couple feet back from the bar. This was in the Bamboo room.
