  1. I’m with you on the app selection though. As someone who does not eat seafood, I will have to skip this too. One non-seafood choice would be nice. I was always too full for dessert though, so maybe this time I will have room for it!
  2. Do you think it is a reaction to people always looking for loop holes? People ordering one of every app and sides just to try them all, which I have seen reported on here. It only takes a few people to ruin things for everyone. I personally don’t see how anyone could (or should) eat more than 1-1-1-1.
  3. I never understood how people could order multiple apps and sides, not from a is it allowed standpoint, but from a consumption standpoint. On cruises we have a hard time finishing one of each and by day 3 skipping apps, by day 6 skipping desserts. It is just too much food.
  4. On the Escape, is the 2 bedroom Haven family room a H4 or a H6?
  5. You can basically get drinks with one alcohol in it. It is very limited. I saw 2 woman very upset one cruise when everything they wanted was denied. If you like more variety, it is better to take the FAS. If you drink rum and Coke or drinks like that,, then it will work fine. It does not include everything up to 15 like some people have mentioned. It does include bottled water.
  6. I can’t remember the last time I have had any service in a land hotel, it is a sign of the times. Even staying 4/5 days for business, they don’t touch the rooms these days, and by the end I have garbage cans overflowing. I take that back, Omni Hotel did, but rooms were over $600 a night. Thankful they still do it once a day on ships.
  7. I guess all those people who bragged about ordering several bottles and sharing with others ruined it for the rest of us. We both have the package, so 2 bottles is still more than enough and we drink cocktails 75% of the time anyway. Keeping our upgrade.
  8. PP and AC....if you mean Puerto Plata and Amber Cove, they are 20 minutes apart and regularly changed out for each other since the beginning of the year. Why would any refund or OBC be needed for inconvenience? It doesn’t affect excursions at all.
  9. Obviously you don’t fly often or you would know those charges are typical on most airlines, other than Southwest. Some low cost airlines even charge for carry on luggage these days. Not NCL’s fault or issue. You might be able to get seats together at the airport, but wouldn’t count on it entirely. If it is that important to you, pay to select your seats.
  10. On the Getaway in August they no longer held the cards. I can’t remember if they scanned them every time, but I was accustomed to them holding them which they no longer do.
  11. My Jan cruise was listed on the schedule at one time, but now I see only Carnival. I would love if they changed the itinerary to be San Juan instead.
  12. Airlines were also offering passengers the ability to change their flights ahead of the weather for free. So they may have been able to get what they wanted all along anyways.
  13. Did you get alcohol delivered to your room? The drink package doesn’t cover alcohol delivered to your room by your butler.
  14. $7 is also the price of a bottle of sparkling water. These are definitely drink charges. The charge to have a guest is $50.
  15. These seem more like drink charges. Are you 100% sure you had the drink package or 100% sure you upgraded to plus? I’ve read where people thought they did, but failed to check in the box when they booked. Were drinks bought for anyone not on a drink package that were with you? The numbers could be lower since if you have reg drink plan and did not upgrade to plus and order something not included the cost is only the difference between the cost and $15.
  16. I’m thankful for posts like this one! I believe we are in the silent majority!
  17. NCL has been going to the Puerto Plata but using Amber Cove. I thought a few were using Taino Bay, but I can’t say for sure. We were there with another Carnival ship. Not sure why this time was different.
  18. I’ve always had port fees refunded too if they miss a port. They aren’t much, maybe 20 bucks. To the Op, did you check your online account? It usually happens at night or the next day on the ship
  19. This past August, Haven 2 bedroom on the Getaway, total for 2 people was $2200, total not each. Did start with a casino comp and upgraded. That is how we book all our cruises.
  20. Entertainment is super important to us, and one of the reasons we continue to go back to NCL every time. Loved Priscilla, Choir of Man, Million Dollar Quartet, liked Rock of Ages, did not care for After Midnight (walked out twice). The dance shows are okay, and for me about 1/3 too long. Hands down Syd Normans made our last cruise great and is a must do. Went every night but one. When booking our next cruise, we only looked at ships with Syds.
  21. It would take a lot more than a $5 dollar delivery charge for me to book MSC. Maybe if we were retired and life was a perpetual vacation, but when one works vacations are precious. Not going to go budget brand for a discretionary charge of five bucks.
  22. The way free at sea works now, everyone in the cabin gets the drink package assuming your mom selected it and paid the gratuities on it for all 4. The dining does not work that way so not sure what you would do there.
  23. We used Ace Luxury transportation. You could do one way, we did round trip. They really went above and beyond when weather caused havoc with our plans, so for that reason alone we will always use them in the future.
  24. Yes, shot o clock the bartender will make a bunch (whoever wants one) of the same kind of shot and everyone sitting at the bar does one together.
