    Chioggia

There are just a handful (literally) of taxis in Chioggia. Passengers were repeatedly warned by the Cruise Director to make plans for their transportation at disembarkation before getting off the ship. Azamara offered very reasonably priced transfers to airport, train, etc. When l walked into the town while on a b2b, I stopped in the largest hotel and asked at the desk about transfers to/from the ship. They told me that they pre-book taxis for their guests because there are only 3 taxis in the town. If a taxi isn't pre-booked, you can be out of luck. I wouldn't walk to town with luggage in tow because it is not a short walk and you'll encounter uneven surfaces (cobblestones) and a bridge with steps. If you are staying at a hotel in Chioggia, I would suggest that you ask them to arrange for your pick up.
  2. In the past, when I traveled solo while paying the rate for two people, then I could add a second person to that rate (even if it is a promo rate) and not pay more, except for additional taxes for the second person. That is because I already paid for 2 people. But, if your friend paid 150% for a solo rate, then she did not pay a rate that covered 2 people. She got a special rate for one person, which would never have covered a second person.
  3. I'm glad that I am not a serious drinker with devotion to certain spirits, mixers and beers! I never even heard of some of the brands that people can't seem to live without for a few days. The wines served by Azamara are usually just fine on my unsophisticated palate.
  4. If you haven't been on Azamara post covid, how can you possibly form a valid opinion on how things are going? I have sailed on 3 Azamara voyages post covid. Everything was outstanding. In fact, I felt that the crew seemed happier than ever, and happy crew means happy guests. I leave in 4 days for another two b2b cruises on Azamara and I can't wait! Last night, I was with a group of 26 people and was asked the question (as a "get to know you" type game) "If you weren't here tonight (on a boat off Sanibel), where would you like to be?' My answer was "On an Azamara ship". My opinion is based on real life experience onboard 3 Azamara sailings in the past 10 months. Your opinion is not based on any real life experience.

    New website.

I can't really remember, but I think there was a page acknowledging receipt of my inquiry after I clicked to submit the form. I am in the US. Maybe sites for UK and Australia are different?? They used to be.

Answering my own question.....it took 2 days to have my upcoming cruises loaded after filling out the online form. That wasn't too bad. My OBC isn't correct, though.

How long did you have to wait after filling out the online form for Azamara to post your upcoming cruises?
  8. That's a LOT of disappointment! Three times in a row would be way too much for me. I decided to try Oceania because the Vista looks to be a gorgeous new ship and I liked the itinerary with long stays in port and overnights (like Azamara does regularly). The itinerary is almost identical to an itinerary I did last year on Azamara (my favorite cruise line). When Azamara missed 2 ports on a 24 night cruise last summer (neither was their fault), they surprised guests with a future cruise credit (almost $1000 for me) to express their regret. I applied it to one of the b2b cruises I am taking with them next month. I'm very surprised that Oceania didn't even say "sorry".
  9. I am also on this cruise and was greatly disappointed by the notice that we will miss St Malo. Based on comments in this thread, it occurred to me that this may be the very first time that Vista calls on Southampton, in which case they may want to go a day earlier to test whether the shore power of Vista is fully compatible at the port of Southampton. So, I checked on cruisemapper.com and found that yes, this will be Vista's first call at Southampton. If they need two days for shore power "commissioning", wouldn't they have known that long before they set the itinerary for this cruise? Isn't an apology from Oceania or acknowledgement of guest's disappointment appropriate in this case? I was only on Oceania once about 10 years ago and thought I would try them again on the beautiful new Vista. This change and the way they are handling it has not impressed me. Thank you to the commenters who made suggestions for things to do in Southampton. Oceania hasn't added excursions in Southampton to their web site. It's good to know that there are places we can go on our own, if necessary.
  10. Same thing happened for a different cruise in Europe that I am booked on. Excursions disappeared and the port was in a light color. After a few days, Oceania ended up cancelling that port (St Malo) and taking the ship to the disembarkation port (Southampton) a day early. Quite disappointing!
  11. I can't remember the details, but I was able to use 6 free nights on an 11 night cruise and the rate I paid was always better than I could have gotten otherwise.

    New website.

I FINALLY GOT IT!! The Celebrity web site wouldn't save the deletion of my Celebrity number until I clicked on my initials at the top right of the page and then clicked on "Past Cruises". Then, a box popped up ask if I wanted to save my changes and I said yes, of course. That is what I had to do to get my Celebrity number off the web site. I don't know why the original save button wasn't working. I went back to my Loyalty page to add the number back and, lo and behold, my points are back on both sites! Yay!!

    New website.

I tried "the fix", but it isn't working for me. The Celebrity Loyalty page has three boxes with numbers for Celebrity, RC, and Azamara. Did those for whom the fix worked delete the number from just the Celebrity box? Did you leave the other numbers in place? My Celebrity and Azamara numbers are the same. Here is what I did that didn't work: I went to the Celebrity site, signed on, went to settings, clicked on Loyalty. I then clicked on the x next to my Celebrity number which caused the Celebrity number to disappear, but I left the numbers in place for RC and Azamara (which is the same number as Celebrity). I clicked save, but the page wouldn't fully load at the top. It appears that the save function wasn't completed, despite repeated attempts to save. So, I tried signing signed out of Celebrity with with no number in the Celebrity box, but it just repopulated the Celebrity number when I signed back in, and nothing changed with my points. Am I doing something wrong?

    New website.

Cruises before Nov 2013 seem to be the problem in my account. Points awarded for these cruises are way off... just 1 or 2 total points listed for all 12 cruises before that date, regardless of cruise line, length of cruise or type of cabin. One exception is a 12 night AZ cruise that got 3 points. Something is mixed up. I think (hope!) they must be working on it.

    Loyalty email

It sounds like points are out of whack for everyone. There are other threads discussing this too. AZ web site says that they can't show your points total, but they do have a correct list of past cruises. However, the points for each cruise are totally inconsistent and obviously off. (Better print or capture the list of past cruises, just in case you need it later.) X web site says points are 0 and they show no past cruises. Obviously there has been a glitch that they have to straighten out for everyone. Many of us can wait while they get this straightened out (hopefully!), but it would be quite frustrating if you were trying to book complimentary nights or use another benefit at this time.

    New website.

The list of my past cruises appears to be correct, but the number of points assigned to each past cruise is crazy! No consistency at all. That might be the glitch that prevents them from showing your points total at the current time. I made a Word document with my past cruises using cut and paste, plus took screenshots. I am able to see OBC for upcoming cruises in cruise planner.
  17. No. Read the whole message, click on Learn More at the end and read the transition faq"s.
  18. You are correct. If you click on "Learn More" at the end of the email and then look at the "Transition FAQ's", it states that one cruise is required on Azamara before Feb to be able to carry over credits previously earned on Celebrity.
  19. My recent experiences were totally both excellent in Aqualina and Prime C. Lovely, relaxed service and delicious food that was plated and presented well.
  20. I agree! I don't recall seeing robes at the White Party. It's supposed to be an elegant night, so it's better to leave the robe in your stateroom and just wear what you have. Not everyone is fully clothed in white. It's not at all unusual to see a man in khaki pants, often worn with a white shirt.
  21. Sounds like you have an issue with your TA, but you haven't even given him time to respond to you yet. It just happened this morning.
  22. You have all just firmed up my decision that I WILL only take carryon for my 4 week trip in September. No checked bags for me! I don't want anything to ruin the delightful time I expect to have on Pursuit. Thank goodness there are laundry facilities on Azamara.
  23. Chef's Tables are offered several nights during a cruise, but not every night. How many nights depends on how long the cruise is. You find out what nights are offered when you board and ask at the reservations desk. They will also tell you what kind of cuisine is offered on which nights. The menu is not the same every night. They usually offer three types of cuisine...French, Italian, etc
  24. I found an article written by a local person who said that the route 397 airport express bus service might be the best option for some people. It sounds quite easy to take, very reasonable in price and the stops are convenient to many hotels (that are not close to the Central Station). I am staying at the Marriott and the bus stops one block from the hotel. If my plan to use only carryon is successful, I plan to use this bus service to get to the Marriott. Here is a link for info about the 397 airport bus service: https://www.travelguide.amsterdam/en/publictransport-gvb/airport-express-bus-397/ If you know about where your hotel is, you can enlarge the map in the link and zoom in to see exactly where your hotel is in relation to the bus stop. This second link has a list of a lot of hotels near the bus stops, but the list isn't complete (e.g. Marriott isn't on the list despite being just one short block from the bus stop.) https://tulipfestivalamsterdam.com/traveling-with-the-amsterdam-airport-express-bus-397/
