OP back with Insurance response. Can't answer my initial question about CFAR response. Insurance did accept my Medical reason and it was covered at 100 percent. (minus of course NCL refund). Filed claim on phone Sept. 23. Received documents to submit. Mailed all documents Sept. 27, they were finally received on October 7. Received email on Oct. 9, that claim has been approved. check to be received within 7 to 10 days. did receive the refund for port charges, taxes and drink/dining pkg. from NCL with 10 days. Still not ready to cruise again but hoping to resume at some point. Travel Insured International is the name of the Insurance company, bought through Insuermytrip dot com. Without travel insurance we would be out a bucket load of money, FYI

Have used Executive Care Service twice from LAX to San Pedro. they can pick up after you exit from baggage area , terminal 6, they can pick up from Columns 6c through 6 k. We flew into LAX on Alaska Air. No problem either time. Google for more info. thought rates reasonable for private care service.

If you have any type of Tavel insurance, first you need to cancel with NCL, you will get a cancel confirm along with the taxes, port fees, dining and/or drinking packages, excursions purchased, showing those will be refunded. Sounds like you might not have travel insurance. If you do, to submit a claim you will need original cruise invoice, cancel invoice, trip cancellation policy, itinerary, and if for medical, physicians statement. Don't let it ride, NCL will not contact you for a no show. Unless you have cancelled for no reason with NCL you won't get any FCC, unless someone special reaches out. You should get your refund for the above charges within 10 days.

From OP. Travel Insured International has-been responsive. Got a packet put together today, 11 pages of documents. Am shaking my head why I need to submit itinerary and cruise line cancel policy. Would think any travel insurance has access but did. Wanted credit card statement, ?? Cruise documents shows when and how paid very clearly, they were required also. And don't forget to include signed fraud statements to the Physician's report and the Cancellation form. Am confident it will eventually pay under medical versus CFAR. I would feel so horrible for anyone going through life threatening issues or a death to have to organize this. But you do have 15 months to file a claim. Well I would like our money back sooner than later. When I get a refund will check back her to let you all know, how long, etc.

OP here. Unfortunately had to cancel cruise yesterday. Did talk with Insurance rep, asked if insurance would not recognize my medical issue would CFAR kick in. Reply was yes. i guess that was one of my concerns if I applied for medical and not accepted, would I still qualify for CFAR, seems so. Got Dr statement today, so hoping for coverage under that, but know insurance companies can be picky what applies. Dr did date of not being able to travel from a week ago. urggh, thank you for your replies, now I have lots of stuff to send in, hopefully got my ducks lined up

never heard of this problem. Has to be beyond frustrating. Norwegian does have a technical Support number, try going through there phone line and see if that extension comes up. In the US calling there general number, they will give you Tech Support number.

Travel Insured International. If we have to cancel it will be prior to leaving. Well of course if we get to go I know if something comes up to save save documentation. Got Insurance through insure my trip dot com hoping to hear from someone that filed claim under CFAR

Have the same 48 hour notice, and 75% cash. Insurance not through cruise line. Just wondering what difficulties if any to use. thanks

Have it, may have to use it. My medical issues may not apply, so would fall back of CFAR. Has anyone filed a claim with this type of coverage? Cancel For Any Reason. If so, how did it go

not all baggage gets to the ship leaving it with porters. Have had several times getting fliers delivered to our room with a message "have you seen this baggage", only my opinion, but we prefer to carry on our bags, no problem, no worries about delivery obviously with long cruises and bigger suitcase that will not go through cruise line scanner, not possible. But we pack light and like to have our luggage with us, never a problem dropping off in the room, after boarding, to each their own

did this last year but having a senior moment or two. do they do facial recognition at "passport control" or do you need to show passports to an agent? No problem, just wondering, I think we just walked right through and never stopped anywhere along the line getting outside but that is probably not right?

same experience for us several times in current past. Once you get through the "cattle" lines and security, there will be a Haven sign and most likely a representative directing you.

Yes do above post. If your picture isn't accepted, we have got the message proceed, your photo will be taken at check in. Our first photo seems to go through but the second passengers never does.

NCL Bliss Alaska activities on port days question
NW Pacific replied to Cruise Crazy Family's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I think weather will be the deciding factor for rock climbing and water slides., possibly go karts, though I think they are in a pretty covered area. Get reservations for others and enjoy. -
Have sailed on both many years ago. Twice on each. The Sky has some older unique areas, but we sailed on the Sky for short itineraries. the most memorable to Cuba from Miami. Does the Star sill have the Spinnaker Lounge on the front of the Ship? It was the area to hang out, and that's where a lot of afternoon stuff was The Sky was pretty bare bones for inside areas other than eating, if I remember right. Unless you are on a short cruise, I think the Star would be more enjoyable. We had fun for sure on the Sky, but for 4-5 days sailings

The Butler that escorts you from the terminal to the Haven, usually gives a tour of the observation lounge, etc. Really you will have no problem finding your way around.

We did the Lumberjack show in Ketchikan a year ago October. I was worried about the time of the Show and back to the Ship. think the show was 1:30pm, sail away 4pm) Asked at the Excursions Desk, said no problem. Still worrisome, we were on first bus leaving from the Ship, when let off told to get on our number bus when leaving Show, I could see no taxis running around. Since there was a huge crowd at the Show, not sure how many were NCL cruisers or another Ship. I insisted we leave the Show early, to get a bus back. There was much talk about have your ticket on you, do not loose, boarding buses will be crowded. urgh. Anyway we left early and got on our bus. I can believe how the passengers could not get a ride back to Ship on time. Obviously two sides to every story, but transportation other the NCL Provided is very limited in Ketchikan, only as I observed??

RE: Pan Pacific and Fairmont hotels, we take only carry on luggage and always keep it with us. Mobile but not wanting to walk a long way. Can you taxi to the Port? or is it a short walk with rolling suitcases? Canada Place sounds like a different cruise terminal than the 10 others we have been through. Just trying to get some idea what it is like there.

Baggage drop off, you pick up where you dropped them off before 4pm. yes to go carts reservations for sure. I am not sure but the main desk will direct you.

Where to meet at Vancouver Cruise Terminal
NW Pacific replied to BabySarge's topic in West Coast Departures
?? If you embarked in Seattle and Vancouver is one of your Ports along the way on your cruise, I don't' understand why you would not be able to get off and back on the Ship, as in any other Port along the way. I would look up a restaurant close by to meet up with friends. Since there ship doesn't leave for a couple days, they may not be allowed access to the terminal?? Sure you can figure this out, without a GPS, good luck maybe I am missing something, -
Early LGB flight on Thanksgiving morning?
